I just bought one, in the blue color, thanks for the run through in pitching the tent. I grabbed mine from Backcountry with the newsletter sign up I got the 20% off, super excited to set mine up for the first time!
I considered the blue but I feel the green is trademark to the company. Its cool in either color. No problem, it was a learning experience for me for sure. I think you'll like it even more when you get to use it. Enjoy my friend 🙏
Great video! I’d planned on setting up the tent once prior to my trip just so I’d have some practice but it’s been miserably hot in Louisiana this summer so I never got around to it. Wish I’d watched this video before leaving lol. But still it was pretty intuitive so didn’t take much longer to set up than had I done it before. I liked that it’s very water resistant because we had a few heavy downpours over the 4 nights I camped. Getting in and out was a little challenging for me given my age and knee and back issues but not undoable. Plenty of interior space and thankfully I returned the 1P tent for this 2P especially since I was not backpacking. Look forward to checking out your channel. Cheers!
For sure! What a let down that was lol. I laughed myself once the camera was off. Not my proudest moment but worked out well. Entertainment value is everything 🤘
I had the same "complain" about the zippers on the doors. I'm sorry, the singular zipper on each door. I even reached out to Nemo and asked them if they could install a second zipper but they told me: 1. their tents cannot be customized and 2. if you/I do add a second zipper to it, it will void the warranty. I was totally willing to send my tent to them and pay for shipping so they could add a second zipper to the doors. Oh well. Thanks for the video!
The zippers are rather inconvenient. Must be trying cut ✂️ money somewhere. Would have been great to just have it done from the manufacturer. I don't think the stakes where well thought out either. Just one persons opinion I suppose. Thanks for tuning in to the channel 🙏
Just bought this tent. A little worried about the zipper situation. But the price, especially with the REI sale, is impossible to beat... Only the Marmot Tungsten 2P came close for me.
The price was a big selling point for me as well. With the NEMO name I knew it was going to be quality as well. I did look at the marmot as well as big agnes and a few others.
Hi there. I just happened upon your channel whine you were reviewing the Nemo tent. I know see you have an Naturehike tent. Which do you prefer? Also, I watched your 10 things you carry in your pack at all times. I think you should add a first aid kit to your list. Thanks
Hi John! If weight and space restrictions weren't a thing I'd take the NEMO over the Naturehike. Nothing more than a space thing. The naturhike tent has been through the worst and came out of it everytime good to go. First aid kit goes with me in my vehicle and on my pack no matter what. Not an "optional" item for sure
Fantastic review!! What a beautiful spacious tent!! It seems perfect for couples as there's so much headroom and it is even the space for two wide mats!! I love it! But I bet it's still expensive!! How much is it??
Very regularly. Unfortunately its the only thing of its kind nearest to me. Still a bit more of a drive than I'd like to do very often. Any overnight videos here on my channel are from that location.
Seems quite similar to Naturehike Monger, which itself is a clone of something else. It's kind of boring how all of the manufacturers seem to do the exact same things, even multiple models of basically the same tent with just slight variations. The differences in measurements are also insignificantly small. They all now have taped seams, color coded poles, light diffusing lantern pocket etc. What's the next level, what will tents be like in 2031?
Speaking of naturehike....how many tents look like the cloud up series tent? Not that they did it first, just another example of how they all get to look alike. I would compare the Aurora 2P closer to the Marmot tungsten 2P. At least with the Marmot they know how to use 2 zippers a side. 🤷 I'm guessing not all that different. How long has the dome tent been a thing? Still continues to be to this day. Improvements have been made on it (room darkening, etc.) sure but its still a dome tent. They will be some weird design by then no doubt but classics never die....like Cobra Kai 🤘🐍
The light green top is not good, if anything it should be even darker than the surrounding fabric. Some mornings getting up at dawn may not be the best start to the day.
I'd say its not ideal. On one hand yea it would be better for heat (good or bad) in the tent and to make the mornings not so damn bright. On the other hand if that were the case I would sleep until noon everytime I went camping. I would personally prefer it darker and leave the neon green for the logo, zippers (which there should be two of on each side....just throwing that out there) and maybe one or two more things. Im not a morning person by any means so I agree it would be better off a darker color.
@@ianherries6350 They already are but are made by Coleman. I think they call it the blackout or something like that. It would be great to see Nemo and other brands utilize it as well. Thanks for checking out the channel!
Does anyone have experience backpacking with their dog with this tent? I'm a little worried about the weight, but my last tent also weighed roughly 5 lbs.

I'm 100% buying this because of this video. 💯
Excellent! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine 🤘
Be honest. When you "unrolled" the tent did you expect it to go further? Lol me and my girl laughed way to hard at that moment 4:33

I'm late to the party here, but I cracked up too. I give the guy a ton of credit for not doing the video over. It happens to all of us.

How a long of aluminum poles?
I don't mind the one zipper. Sometimes two zippers won't close flush.
It really is personal preference but for me 2 is the way to go.

I am sure that tents in the future shall be sold with the feature of being dark inside, thank you for your response. Ian.

Can you put on the outer shell first?
You can but it does make it a bit harder to get the tent body up. It can be done though
