‘Those’ stories are in the past for some, Betsi, but they are still going on for others. Thank you for telling your story. Not only were you denied the possibilities of going to the next level, but the school itself gave up its opportunity for the recognition. It’s a crazy world, we just have to keep going despite these impoverished ways. I live in Australia, and it is gut wrenching to see similar situations happening to our Indigenous children and people, as well as children of minority cultures. Your brightness shines through, and with that, you are also helping other children of the world.
I love watching your videos. You're so creative. And I love the flow. With all that said, I usually fall asleep watching😂🤣 Definitely not because your videos are boring but because your voice is so soothing and comforting mix that with the motion of your drawing.

So interesting to hear about all the "missed opportunities" y'all had in school with teachers who didn't pay attention to students' strengths. I have an opposite story of when the state orchestra board failed to inform our Catholic high school of auditions. Three (!!!) of my orchestra teachers from current and previous schools launched a vehement objection and got late auditions for me and a few other students. Two of us got in and had a great experience. I was very fortunate to have parent and teacher support throughout my life. They gave me SO many opportunities.
Dyscalculia. I was diagnosed with it around 10 years ago. Picked up later in life the last time I was at university. Can’t understand basic maths but I understand algebra and calculus 🤦♀️
