Ian Bertram is indeed a marvel. Blown away by the 1st issue. Looking forward to hearing what you think about the variety of books you have in your June pile. Love that Xenozoic Tales cover. The art recently was auctioned at heritage.
That must have gone for a nice chunk of change. I need to save up my money to buy a cover someday...I always go for the more affordable interior pages when bidding on original art... I hope all is well with you this summer.
Dragonring is where Dale Keown got his start in comics. I think it was some sort of wrestling comic, editor Barry Blair turned into a superhero title called Dragonforce shortly after. I couldn't tell from here if that was his art or not.
thanks MG. I need to read more comics everyday to catch up. Some days my family actually expects me to stop reading and do other things! It's shameful. ;)
I’ll look into the comic with the fan art! Very cool. I recently supported Phil Russertt’s Tragedy comic. That’s his last Kickstarter. He said he’s gonna get it into stores, every month. He asked us to ask our stores to carry it. I’ll still wait for the collected edition. Precious Metal has awesome art! I’m enjoying the vid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man im glad you made out of the hard hitting streets of Portland safely.thanks as always for introucing me to very different titles. Wrong Earth cover is super cool. DAN DARE looked real cool too.very fun bunch.im enjoying Space ghost. I hope you.and the family are enjoying the 4th. Take care and talk to you soon
It's like Escape from New York out there! Hope you had a great fourth with GrandHawkbaby and Grandhawkwoman. i'm still working on watching your two latest videos...comedy genius both of them.
Grendel is like Cerebus. You have to read a lot of issues to know what’s going on as they rarely explain things. Once you do however, the story is rewarding. Great bunch of back issues you acquired, particularly that Little Dot with the creature! It’s a sought after issue. Really enjoyed the video!
I realized I have a digital volume one omnibus of Grendal...but it starts with a long illustrated prose story which is seriously hard to stay interested in...which must be why I never read much of it when I first bought it a decade ago...I guess I should buckle down and try again.
I just read it yesterday Walt. You were right. Loved that art and it's an intriguing first issue. I'm slightly surprised that your still reading single issues, surround as you must be by so many collected editions!
That pin-up for cancer is so cool - I will definitely search for it. Rocking Robbie says Bear Pirate really comes together in the final book - the art looks astounding. I liked Unbeing but I knew it was very Annihilation (spoiler alert- I review it in my next video). Magic debt collector???? It just has a weird rat on the cover. OOH - you showed a sexy scene in Profane. I bought Space Ghost for the cover, but I am determined to read it. Oh wow! I have to get that Wrong Earth - thanks for the history of that image - I need to get that original mag if it isn’t too expensive. Precious Metal looks so cool. Oh, same artist as Little Bird, whose art I loved. You bought a lot of comics - I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them especially since I don’’t know most of them. You mentioned Robbie’s rec on Viking Pirate. Wow - I like that Doc Savage cover. So many great back issues that i can’t keep up with my comments. Vortex looks interesting - I take it that it’s an anthology comic? Little Dot - I have a bunch to read but I don’t have that creature from the Black Lagoon cover - I absolutely have to find that one. I lasted till the end, but I only watched for 20 minutes because I had you on double speed!!!! I wonder how you feel about that. Do you actually get the full minutes of credit from YT or only half?
That original issue of Astounding that the Queen cover was based on might be pricey, that's my guess anyway. You watch my videos on double speed and I watch yours on half speed as revenge.
I knew there was an old 80s comics company called Vortex...but I had no idea that they had their own anthology mag, till finding them this past week. Thanks for stopping by!!!
I hope it's cool where you are Tim! And super glad to hear your enjoying the Ghost Machine books. I hope Ghost Machine does well and lasts a long time.
Good day, D, and Happy 4th of July. Thank you so much for the ipad. It works great! Tomorrow at my shop they are having free hot dogs, soft drinks, and snow cones. The last two times they've had events two brothers have parked their trucks behind the shop and drank beer. They are now called "the tailgaters." They'll likely be there today, but I don't think the beer will be free. Nice guys. One of them I like to put a "My Little Pony" in his pullbox or sneak it into his pile when he is there. Of course, he doesn't read My Little Pony. As I type this the news for Neil gets worse on social media. Already youtube videos attacking him have been posted. It begins...
I hate these "scandals" Most of them ought to be resolved as conversations between adults, it seems. Sounds like quite a party at your shop! I think my shop will just be closed...though he does sales on lots of holidays. So glad the ipad is working well.
@@sleepyreader666 You'd think, right? In the meantime Gaiman is taking a social media take down. He's being pummeled from every side. I still respect him and admire Sandman. Nothing has changed. Like my lawyers remind me, " we'll sort out the facts in due time."
p.s. Tonight I was reading some 80's Green Lantern Corps. Much of the anger towards Neil is coming from those who are upset about the age discrepancy between him and the women. I have no issue with age differences. First, it's none of my business to pass any judgement on adults and the partners they choose. And second I'd find it offensive if someone told me when I was 20 that I was too young to be dating older women. As an adult I'd be offended being treated like a child who does't know what he is doing by peers or anyone else. Personally, I've known many couples with huge age differences who've been together for decades if not their entire lives, including a literature professor who dated one of his students. We knew he was dating her. We liked them both and didn't see anything inappropriate. After 35 years they are still together. Which brings me to the Green Lantern issue I was reading, issue 206 written by Steve Englehart and drawn by Joe Staton. It's when Hal Jordon and Arisia are trapped in a cavern. Arisia has physically and mentally matured into a woman due to her desire to be a woman and the ring granted it somehow. She has been in love with Jordan since she met him, but Hal dismisses it as a mere crush. Arisia won't be patronized by Hal and reminded him that the Guardians chose her to be a Green Lantern. Hal tells her he doesn't like her that way. Arisia, though, is determined. At the end of the issue when the Corps arrive to rescue them they find them embraced in a kiss. I thought about Neil and his predicament. I don't remember any blow back for this story at the time. I"ll have to check the letters page. Today, if DC dared to publish it, it would be a category 5 twitter storm.
You are a Todd man through and through!!! any chance you'll come back to making videos? All those comics your reading are like trees falling unseen in the forest, heh.
That was a lot of books 🤣 .. I almost always watch till the end . I got to pick up some trades of that Canto that title has been showing up a lot lately on channels I watch , that Tom King book is another i might check out if they do a hardcover
Thanks for watching to the end. I feel slightly guilty when my videos go longer, despite the fact that happens so often...In my mind it's always going to be a twenty minute vid.
@@sleepyreader666 i like watching longer videos , 10-15 minutes is good not a huge fan of the 2-3 minute videos but I know more people like those I just dont feel I get enough information on videos that short
Vandermeer's Annihilation keeps coming up in various ways, in my life. I guess I should seek out the book. I guess if Zac Thomson has done a better job of near plagiarism it would be more forgivable, heh heh...at least by me...
I'm intrigued by the new Zantanna, but mostly because of the artist. I'm slowly trying to get more of her pervious appearances.
I've never been super excited by Zantanna, but I have enjoyed Rodriguez's art a lot on a few Marvel projects, like Defenders Beyond.
That Maria Llovet comic is the stuff she did in the Image Anthology collected in one comic.
Interesting info...I may have double dipped!
Great haul.. I’m going to look for little dot and I look forward to your reviews..
uh oh more competition for those litttle Dots!!! heh heh. I hope your Summer is going well Taqi!

Drowning in reading, lol. Cheers Brian.
What a haul! Have a great week & don’t blow yourself up today Damian. 🧨👍🇺🇸
I will try not to blow myself up. You never know!!
Precious Metal: one uping Mobius: very true!
I felt a twinge of guilt saying that! But I have to be honest.
Love that Skinner shirt! I need to get some from him. Lots of good stuff in there I'm waiting on for collected editions.
Skinner is great. I got two of his shirts.
Collected editions are a smart move.
