How to Grow an Indoor Garden (Chaotically)

- This was my first try at growing vegetables hydroponically.
What do you think I found 🙈
My dream is to have garden beds outside, but my current housing situation doesn’t really allow for it, so this hydroponics growing system was an easy solution and it worked perfectly.

VIDEO SUGGESTION: For your channel, _please_ create a short explaining why we plant parents should NEVER use bamboo or wooden stakes as our plant support rods. They can carry & transfer pests, _long before_ we even know that there's a massive problem brewing!! Thanks 💕
EDIT: You ever not _really_ think about something? But when somebody else points out how weird it is you clue in?? Yeah, 3 whole _YEARS!_ Not EVER until you posted _THIS_ video, had I ever thought that growing lettuce & jalapeno peppers in my bedroom was weird strange or even odd! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Que the music, "It's me, "hi" I'm the problem, it's me! 🤣🤣🤣
Tomatoes need more rooting space😅
Food before germination?
I tried this few weeks ago and now i have 17 basil plants growing in my bedroom 😅
HAHAHAHA I’m slowly realizing a lot more people grow stuff in their bedrooms than I thought 😁
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow my whole grow area is in my room🤣 it’s pretty and takes up my whole desk and all wall shelves but it’s worth it
I have thyme, basil, mint , pathos, and Ivy plant
More indoor veggie gardening please! I don't know how to succeed after they outgrow the little hydroponic guy.
You can transplant them into pots or in outdoor gardening beds!
You ever not _really_ think about something before? But when _somebody else_ points out how "weird it actually is" you clue in?? Yeah, 3 whole _years!_ Not EVER did I think about it _until_ you posted THIS. I'd never thought that growing lettuce & jalapeno peppers in my bedroom was weird, strange or even odd! THIS IS _WHY_ I'M SINGLE FOLKS! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Que the music, "It's me, "hi" I'm the problem, it's me! 🤣🤣🤣
LOL bedroom gardens unite! ✊
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow 😂😂 Hey now, lots of loving in the bedroom plants _all_ kinda of seeds, right? 😂😂
I have a diy version of this with two sets of mini stacking towers and a 2-headed grow light. Trying broccoli, pepper, tomato (2 kinds), mint, and strawberry starters there. Also experimenting with growing microgreens and swiss chard in substraite since tired of wasting so much soil every 2 wks. Wish me luck!❤
Oh micro greens sounds fun! Good luck!!
Love this. I have an aerogarden. I've grown cilantro, basil tons, hot peppers, great to start, still trying to figure out the transplant to dirt process.
I’ve alwyas wanted to try the aero garden!
I have an Aero garden. I’ve found it’s easiest to transplant when younger. Smaller roots, at least 2 sets of true leaves. Then I keep the soil pretty moist and next to the AeroGarden’s light until they get a few more leaves then I start putting them outside.
I just keep them in the AeroGarden when it’s cold out.
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow I love to look at it. It's an experiment. And I love it. My daughter loves basil so it makes it so easy to multiply. She will just pick it off and eat it like it was a piece of candy.
I have one too! Only issue I have is when algae gets stuck in the area the water is pumped through... Hard to open but I got it eventually, since I need to clean it after lettuce, but one part is still covered in algae 😤😤
@@alteria2714 agree. Once algae is there I haven't figured out how to get rid of it. I've already sanitized with bleach. I might try next round the vinegar.
I don’t think it’s possible to mix salad veggie like lettuce with such as tomatoes, because they both have very different nutrients needs. Lettuce more alkaline, tomato more acid etc.
They actually ended up growing fine haha but long term I’m sure you’re right. These are just for a single harvest
Lol...I really do want a label maker! 🤣
LOL it comes in handy! (I pinned it in my comment)
Part 2 better have the results of your label guessing accuracy cause now I’m invested
LOL it wasn’t the focus 😂
Enjoy the garden! Basil is very easy to grow imo, and the others will just be a matter of trial and error
Good luck!
Thank you!
lol you’re too cute and I love that you have a label maker!
Hahah it was originally for my kids’ stuff but it ends up being used more for plants
I ended up buying a few packs for my colorful garden, only to find out that 3 packets had no seeds in them.
What?! I hope you got a replacement!
Those back to roots products are 🔥 if I could show you pictures of my 3 month old hydroponic cherry 🍅 I would, it's in 😮😮full harvest mode and so 🤤 Their soil is awesome and affordable too, and they even have a succulent blend. I wish I was getting paid for this. Lol! Prepare yourself to be addicted to aerogarden and all the knock offs like the one in your video. I have 4 units in a studio apartment 🤦♀️ currently growing lemon tree, kumquat, carnivorous plants, and cherry 🍅 as mentioned. I recommend getting those little fake silk mesh-like gift bags and put mosquito dunks in them. They will keep the fungus gnats away, just put in a new bag once a month with each water change. You can use mosquito bits, but they only last about a week. Have fun growing!!! 😊
That is genius with the mosquito dunks!!!! Thank you
I love it !
Thank you!
I love these types of hydroponic setups, its pretty solid to go with on our kitchen and while using the Come and go method!
Ive heared they have a new system where there was a fan for the system itself!🎉
Oh that’s so cool! I need to check that out thanks!
What brand has this? Product name? I’m so intrigued!
I grow mine in the bedroom 😅 my cats will eat all the leaves if i leave it in an accessible location 😅
Haha totally makes sense!
I don't have a garden either. But spinach, basil herbs lettuce will grow in regular pot with regular soil mix.
They certainly will, but a hydroponics system is self-sufficient, which I like.
Lol
Do you need to continually add the plant food or is it a one time thing?
You regularly add
Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Вот это да ! Целая система 😅😊
👏
How long do you leave the light on for?
It’s on an auto cycle of I believe 14 hours
It’s impossible to find part 2
It’s literally the video that came after this one
This I great I might need one 🎉
Veggies for the win!
I do want a label maker 😂😂
Hahha I use mine a lot!
I do have one like this but the way do not give me result at all
Im guessing you found marijuana 😅 by-by arthritis, hello side hustle 😅
Wow that was left field 😂
can you use it to grow cutting of indoor plants ?
My friend did that actually!

You're a true treasure.

i just got this hydroponic garden also!
Yay! What are you growing
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow im growing the herb kit - right now - basil, mint, cilantro, shiso, and parsley! i’m planning on making a video also on the daily progress :’) thanks for your video - it literally helped me yesterday morning when i was setting up ours :’) 🫱🏽🫲🏻🌱🌿💧🫶🏼
It’s not a want it’s a need
Lol
You're a true inspiration.
Thank you!
CANT USE CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS !!!
It’s plant food designed for this hydroponics system

My alocacia polly's final leaf is nearly dead. I know you've said alocacias can recover from this; tips on facilitating this, please? 💚🪴💚
As long as the roots are still good, it will grow back! All of my Alos are in high humidity
