Hello Doc Enjoy your videos Have a question regarding DOT physical Would a hernia prevent me from passing dot physical it does not hurt or bother me Thanks in advance👍
Hey doctor I have focal epilepsy i haven’t had anything about a year, when i did had one it would be when im sleeping and my arm or leg would be numb for a few seconds id be aware. Can I still get a cdl?
I’m looking to get my cdl in the future. I’m currently 45 years old at 2 years old I was diagnosed with grand mal epilepsy. I was off and on Dilantin and tegrytol during my child hold. My last seizure was at age 12 and have been off medication 2010. I could have stopped taken it sooner because my neurologist at the time told me the Dilantin was doing more damage than good but I kept taking for a year until I felt comfortable being off of it. I don’t know if my seizures are classified as provoked but I remember at 11 years old I had an seizure on the train and I was told at first it was triggered by me looking out the window of the train but my neurologist back at home says was because I had an infection and a fever. Would I qualify for cdl and if so do I need to go though a board and how would I get the process started?
More than 15 years ago, I had a seizure once. I have been using medication since then and I have never had a seizure and it was a mild seizure. Can I get a CDL?
Summary 1. History of Seizure or Epilepsy? Disqualify! Exceptions: off of meds for 10 years and episode free. 2. You never been diagnosed Epilepsy but had a single known episode of seizure. Wait 5years off of anti seizure & episode free to qualify. [Some require Clearance from neurologist some do full neuro]. Now to FMSCA Seizure Exemption applications: 1. 8year Seizure free? Those with Epilepsy controlled with Meds and episode free for 8years ( episode free 8years while off meds obviously qualify!). Next 2years your med plan is stable. -Recert Annually! 2.Single Provoked seizure- episode free for 4years on/off med. - recert Q2years! 3. Single Provoked Seizure - -LowRisk(generally metabolic or TBA) that would knock any healthy adults to seizure obviously less likely to recurre. -HighRisk - highly yo recurring like Stoke, suubarChnoid hemorrhage rtc...

So if I take primidone 4 essential tremors and I have no history of seizures this would not necessarily disqualify me
it would be up to the medical examiner
@@EasyDOTPhysicalsso it wouldn't automatically disqualify it would just be at his discretion
