    I still hope this applies to this year and so on. I've been a type 1 diabetic for 14 years on insulin and planned to do trucking. If only you people understood how much discrimination us type 1 diabetics have to face when it comes to jobs or anything. Everyone thinks we're handicap. 😕

      Typically the Doctors office keeps the Diabetes form and issues your medical card. This is what you would submit to the state. That is how we do it in Ohio. Different states may have different rules.

    My primary doctor who prescribes my insulin refused to fill out the form so I could take a non cdl DOT physical because my A1c was 7.6 reading the form I don’t even see an option for my primary to deny filling the form. As I read it the doctor doing physical is the one to make final determination and my primary is suppose to provide him with details to help make his final approval? Right before the form ask the insulin prescribing clinician to sign there is one sentence that is questionable. Can you clarify please and thank you so much.

    • @EasyDOTPhysicals

      I have had primary doctors refuse to fill out this form for various reasons. Since this is an exemption form it must be filled out by the doctor prescribing insulin for the medical examiner to be able to certify the driver. There is no exception to this unfortunately.

      If you are taking insulin the waiver form will need to be completed in it's entirety for our office to be able to certify you. This would include blood glucose monitoring. There is a 3 month certification that you can get to obtain this data and our office would generally grant that in this situation.

      The simple answer to your question is under 10 although blood testing is not a part of the standard DOT physical so most likely a urinalysis detected uncontrolled diabetes first.

    @Easy DOT Physicals
    I am a type 1 diabetic and have a DOT Exam in 2 days. I'm sure that I am overthinking everything but, I am wondering.
    I've recently received my DOT Medical card from my last job through my family doctor who has cleared me for the DOT exam. Now, my new job with a different company wants me to retake my DOT Exam and I am a little worried. I am worried because I recently lost my testing meter and do not have 3 months of logs and really can't afford to fail this DOT exam. My a1c was around 8 - 9 when I got my medical card for my previous employer.
    My questions are.
    1.) Can I provide my current DOT(has not expired) to this upcoming exam and not have to retake it?
    2.) Would me not having 3 months of BS logs prolong or even fail me in this exam?
    3.) Can the examiner get my A1c from my urine test alone? If, so how long would it take to get the results back?
    4.) What are they looking for in my urine, sugar/A1c?
    5.) Can I provide my current DOT from my family doctor to the examining doctor to help me pass this exam?
    6.) What can cause me to fail this exam as a diabetic?
    Thanks much
    The diabetic,

    • @EasyDOTPhysicals
      @EasyDOTPhysicals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I will try to answer all of your questions with one concise explanation. Insulin dependent diabetics must have their treating physician fill out the diabetic exemption form. Part of this is the 3 month blood glucose. I am assuming you have already had this done because you have a medical card. Bring this in to your DOT physical and they may accept it. No other forms of doctor notes can be accepted. I have a video on exactly what we are looking for on the urinalysis.

    • @EasyDOTPhysicals
      @EasyDOTPhysicals  ปีที่แล้ว

      This would be up to the doctor doing your exam. I would personally not certify someone with IDD if they had a complication such as kidney disease.

    I find it amusing where you exclusively avoid telling viewers what the value charts are to qualify... The fed gov has a cut off of 8 for A1C but what they dont tell anyone is these glucose values are a standard table used from a *Non Diabetic* ! They place a standard that maybe 1 out of 15,000 could even meet? Type 1 or 2 doesnt matter its all a standard ment to fail you! As a mass average Diabetics favor either the low or Hypoglycemic or the higher Hyperglycemic traits? Either one can usually be treated via diets, exercises, or a slight medication combo?
    Now I have had type 1 for 40 years and I am what they refer to as * violently brittle* which means my sugar without warning can snap from 30 to 600 and vice-versa in a matter of minutes and also some times I take shots and my body will completely not respond to it? All doctors have failed to treat me or temper the problems associated with, and when I say Im not some statistic to be treated from a chart they get mad! So I doctor myself and have for past 25 out of 40 years and here is the Important part so pay attention.... I have absolutely perfect blood works, perfect cholesterol, perfect organ function and I have not been hospitalized once in over 25 years doing shit my way!!.
    Now 2 things that fail me from DOT pass. My BP is consistently 2 to 4 points over their chart.. has been at said levels my whole life. I have no cardiovascular issues. Been stress tested throughout my life. Doctors cant explain??
    2nd my A1C usually runs 9.1 to 10.1 because I have spent a career in the gas an oilfield working 100 plus hrs a week doing extremely harsh physical labor amd as such I have to eat alot of sweets at random circumstances. Now again these occurrences cant be predicted they just hit when they hit. But I deal with it without issues. I am awake same hours daily. I eat the same time daily, i take insulin same time daily. A structured life works!! No its not perfect by no means. I have watched alot of Diabetics die in matter of few years with less severe issue as mine, but my point is this. Im getting older and I can't stay in the oilfield industry with the injuries ive sustained over the years thats never healed. So I thought I could be a truck driver in its place? Boyyy was I wrong.. EOE my ass.. Ive hired lawyers to fight these clowns and it literally is a waste of money to even try..
