This is something I have been struggling with . Head to heart . Faith over feelings . Great answers to the question and very good advice . The bit about Charles spurgeon was particularly helpful , as it is always a blessing to hear that someone so used by God also had his seasons of struggle. Thank you for this 🙏🙏

The bottom line is you have to make time with God and his Word, there are no short cuts. Today we have enormous study power that even the early Christians lacked…..we have Bibles in over 100 translations (variations), Bible commentaries Old and New Testaments that would take us a lifetime to study, we have biographies of men and women of God along with their spiritual journeys, and now we can listen and view hundreds and hundreds of spiritual sermons on the internet not readily available 30 years ago. There’s really no excuses….beside the flesh and worldliness.
Thank you so much for this. I have been struggling with my prayer life ever since I was a teen. I grew up in a pentecostal church (AOG) and as the only child and then teenager at the church, bible study for one person wasn't a priority.
“How can I grow in my experiential knowledge of God?“ Basically the question is,”How can I feel closer to God or feel that he is closer to me.” That’s an extremely common question due to the fact that there is no god and the emotions (experiential) are being conjured up from within the person in a delusional fashion. We see what we want to see and feel what we try hard to feel, at least temporarily. Delusion and self-deception are powerful tools of the human mind. It is an extension of our ability to imagine. God is imaginary no matter how real he feels to you.
@@singwithpowerinfo5815 there’s only 2 major ones. Big bang or a creator. No one says you have to jump right into Christianity, but belief in a creator or God does have some positives.
@@puritywept I’m not interested in what has positives or negatives, I’m interested in what is true. I’ve seen absolutely no convincing argument for the existence of a god.
Nice “don’t set your hopes on marriage’ by the MARRIED Tim Conway with FOUR. Tell which well known pastor is single??! But single people are the ones who aren’t focusing on the most important thing. Yeah sure. Says the people who spend their free time having sex. Says some pastors who make entire podcasts and sermons about sex. How dare we want marriage. When we’re 65 and still on earth but all alone, it will be so comforting that Tim’s GRANDCHILDREN will be married. Because it’s good for some, but not for the rest of us. That is hypocrisy.

There was a reference to George Muller. Was it a specific book?
Muller’s autobiography. It’s available online.
