The most important step was missed.. disconnect a battery!!... then when you replace your sensor you have to start your vehicle and let it sit for 3 minutes without cranking it. It will reset mass air flow sensor. And SYNC throttle body...
Yep, exactly what happened to me. To test if it if the sensor disconnected the electrical connected to the filter cover and start it. If it starts up normal you're good and just need to replace that sensor
@@mlndmccoy66 The engine hesitation I had when in idle was solved just cleaning (youtubeCRC mass airflow sensor cleaner) the mass air flow sensor. You don't need to remove the entire engine cover to get to it, just basically 2 screws on the back if it and don't forget to pull the connection out. If that doesn't help then I guess you may need to change the TPS(Throttle body position sensor) it can't be serviced its sealed in with the throttle body and something about the 2010 models having a recall, this video may help th-cam.com/video/ovavm45iCMA/w-d-xo.html. Hope this helps you, oh and I'm no mechanic just another 😪 Chevy Malibu owner
you can already see that one screw ( on the sensor )was removed when he starts taking out the engine cover. prolly didnt have a stubby screw driver to remove the other screw , so he removed the cover.
I see you asked this 3 months ago but I’m having this issue now. I had a friend come last night and he completely disconnected mine and my car ran great. I’m going to be replacing it but he told me I could probably drive it for years with no problem. Before he disconnected it, it was spitting and sputtering.🤷♀️
My 2011 4 cyl malibus engine cuts out when heading up a hill n has a lack of power if goin up a hill. I've replaced both camshaft position sensors and removed the catalytic converters and changed the o2 sensors in the catalytic converter. Still it lacks power when under a load such as goin up a hill. Anyone out there have Any idea what could be the problem? I'd sure appreciate it
I appreciate the detailed steps 💯

Thank you good sir!
Wait so what are symptoms of a bad air sensor
@@jefferyreyes801 For me it was Check Engine Light and rough idle at stop signs/ red lights.
@@kiethj7 by that you mean like it would shake when you are braking?
@kieth yes like I don’t know why it dose that at first u thought it was brakes then motor mounts but nah I changed all of that and still the same
Preciate u my guy✊🏾💯k Whole lotta Malibu shit
I did it! Thanks!
Could a bad air sensor cause engine power reduced mode?
Yep, exactly what happened to me. To test if it if the sensor disconnected the electrical connected to the filter cover and start it. If it starts up normal you're good and just need to replace that sensor
Do you need to remove the engine cover just to pull out the mass airflow sensor?
Ikr

A great idea of you want to clean intake while your there
How was the car running before replacing it I want to know if we have the same issue please

If the car is still running after pulling the sensor, you need a new one
Nice. Thank You!
Min 1:33 que tamaño tiene esa manguera o como pregunto en la tienda para obtener una de esas?

Appreciate it my guy
To remove the engine cover was unnecessary but good vid

I can't afford process of elimination. But maybe the mass air sensor?
Thanks
Jist remove the air filter cover and thats all
Bro you did too much just to try to get to the MAF sensor.
