    I wonder how many people will strip the thread in the head after following this
    The torque spec is 10nm for the small bolts and 20 for the bigger ones if you go too tight you will pull the thread out of the head

      @@CarGuyLife same here. I just found an oil leak on my duse pump seal after doing a stage 2 cam and timing belt. So thanks for the video! Gonna use this to fix it.

    Currently changing the head on my A4 but I'm having a nightmare getting the pump off your video has helped I may just pull all the pipes out tbh was there Any fuel leak or anything when you pulled them off I've already had to drill a head bolt out 😆😆

    Great video!
    I have a esporadic missfire on the 2 cilinder code p0302 and I guess it's a leak on the fuel pump! In the morning it's very hard to start engine! I will change also this gasket seal as mine it's a bite oily so I guess it as a leak somewhere! Seems not to difficult I will try this also... Thanks 👍👍👍

      Sounds a good plan 💪 just be careful not to over tighten the tandem pump bolts as its easily done

    I've got an A4, but harder because it's close to the bulkhead but just takes patience. I rebuilt the tandem pump as well. Oil pressure light gives you a fright 😁 VAG cars all do this with long cranks, don't ken why. Guid to hear a Scottish voice on TH-cam, keep up the good work. Inlet looks spotless. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      Yeah that sounds like a nightmare 🙈 how can you tell if tandem pump is knackered? Yeah im only automotive TH-camr in Inverness as far as im aware 💪 thanks buddy 😎 yeah i fully restored the inlet i did a video on that aswell 👌

    • @calm4477
      @calm4477 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarGuyLife it wasn't knackered, it was leaking diesel. I just bought another cheap tandem pump and a rebuild kit. I did it that way so I had one rebuilt and ready to swap over, working outdoors same as yourself so needed to be a quick swap over. I'd imagine hard starts and poor running would be the main problems. Have you tried EHN-2 additive yet?

    I have eventually found out that I had the same problem on my audi a3 tdi 55 reg. The mechanic I think had put new seals inside the pump but I inspected the car yesterday and it seems it is still leaking from left side. Therefore the car will be going back to his garage. Did you change the seals on your pump or just cleaned it up and has it sorted the leak?

    Did you notice a gain in power / mpg after this job? I have the gasket need to fit still been busy. Oil leak is pretty bad though.

    • @CarGuyLife
      @CarGuyLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not personally no. But if the oil leak is badly it can cause oil & fuel to mix i believe

    • @E69apeTheMatrix420
      @E69apeTheMatrix420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarGuyLife thats the tandem pumps internal gaskets. Nothing to do with the gasket that sandwich the pump to the block. But that's kl and interesting to know. I may do it today.

  • @benkr5870

    is it possible that oil gets in to the fuel holes ? and than go to the injectors ?

    • @CarGuyLife
      @CarGuyLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes this normally happens when the gasket is severely worn and damaged u get fuel mixing with oil etc

    Hi m8 I have an audi a3 tdi 55 reg
    The oil leak from the rear of the turbo or engine. I think its the brake pump washer which needs replacing. Did you have the same issue

    • @CarGuyLife
      @CarGuyLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Best advice is cleaned all oil deposits up with brake cleaner and a cloth then when the leak begins again it may be easier to find if there's old oil on the engine

    • @mumtazzafar1576

      @@CarGuyLife the problem with me is that I can't take that big plastic pipe off which is behind the engine
      Its part of the intake
      Without removing it I can't actually pin point. I have already washed it with brake cleaner. One thing I have realised is the faster the car runs the more oil it leaks.i have been underneath my car and all I can see is that its coming right at the top just on the left side of the EGr. However as I said I have been on TH-cam there is not video showing how to take that pipe off.
