This track is a masterpiece and it exemplifies Lovebites' musical diversity and versatility. It's one of the band's progiest songs and it's melodic storytelling at its best.
"Edge of the World" is an amazing metal ballad. One time, when I was still new to Lovebites, I was walking home from work with headphones on and this song came on. I literally walked and cried - this song is so beautiful and soulful that it literally evokes emotions in you. "Edge of the World" is one of three E-songs, which also includes "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream". They are all metal ballads. You should definitely listen to them. You can also find "Edge of the World" on a fan channel. There are closed captions and the lyrics are very touching. Thank you for your reaction! More Lovebites on the channel!
@@JohnnyReacts1 I concur, those three "E" songs, together with "A Frozen Serenade" (live 2021), are perfect for people, who like calmer music. LOVEBITES has something for everyone!
Miyako (guitar/keyboards) started classical piano lessons at the age of three and was enrolled in the piano department at a music college. She taught herself to play guitar at the age of 18. She once had a period of time when she was not sure whether she should choose to be a classical pianist or a metal guitarist. One day, however, she was listening to classical music and noticed that it contained elements of metal music, and she began to think that classical music and metal music were one and the same, and it seemed silly to wonder which to choose. In fact, several of her compositions are inspired by the music of Beethoven, Dvorak, Chopin, Liszt, and others.
4:25 "I love this girl".... yeah join the queue 😉 I would say that Miyako is the greatest genius in music since Prince. And u can buy a stream ticket for the concert sept 1 and watch it "live".
two bars in and your eyes well up aaaaah exactly what happens every time i listen/watch them since 2020 to this very day ...this band is very very special
As somebody who came from prog/symphonic rock (Yes, Genesis, Renaissance, Marillion) from the 80s over symphonic metal in the late 90 till now to Lovebites, this is my favorite song of them since even though i also love their pure powermetal now, in the end more prog type songs will always my favorites.
LOVEBITES make no compromises when playing Heavy Metal, they play relentlessly, effortlessly, fast, heavy, melodic, clean, tight, just (almost) perfect. I know few bands, who could even come close. That's no gimmick, they are the new benchmark in playing Heavy Metal!
More about Miyako; She's 34 years old, is a wife & mother. She started playing piano at the age of 3, and by the time she was 18, she was headed for a career as a classical pianist, and then, while attending a university, she discovered guitar and taught herself how to play ! To see more of her skills, react to " Chopin Intro + Swan Song, " live from Zepp DiverCity Tokyo, 2020. She also has an EP of piano covers and is giving a piano recital in October. Miyako composes about half of LoveBites music. Check out her UTube channel. 😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
The enigmatic group Lovebites (More than just a great metal band) but bring back the pinnacle era of R/R (Late 60's to early 90's)for those that recognize it. The big question? When will they get the recognition they deserve? Hopefully, the upcoming US tour will do it.
If you want to see Miyako playing the piano then you have to do a reaction on their song titled Swan Song + Chopin intro (Five of a Kind, 21/02/2020). Don't choose the wrong video because some videos don't show Miyako playing the piano intro. Choose the one with the longest duration.
Reminds me very much of Stairway to heaven , from a slow beginning to a high tempo finish. Many bands over the years have tried to emulate that masterpiece of music and Lovebites have given it a bloody good go. 👍👍👍👍👍
Love the intro - Miyako's piano, joined by Asame's voice and then Midori's guitar is an epic opening. But then so is the rest of the song. Get well soon.
I think many people will be surprised and impressed by the solo at the beginning of this song, which highlights Asami's talent. Many people may forget to pay attention to the blues played by Miyako's guitar that follows because of the lingering impression. However, I feel that Miyako's solo is the highlight of this song. Of course, this is my personal opinion, but I think this solo is the best of all LOVEBITES' performances. This song is also available in a live video from 2020. At that time, I think Miyako was playing a Gibson guitar. I felt that the tone of the guitar at that time was perfect for this solo. In any case, I don't think there is a better metal guitarist than her when it comes to playing this type of song. (Except for Gary Moore, whom she respects.) ---------- from Nippon *This is a sentence using Google Translate. I hope that my intention is conveyed correctly.
In both this video and when they played it when Miho was still in the band, it is my favourite Miyako solo. So much soul and emotion in her playing. And I love the message in the lyrics.
LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World lyrics: Why do we learn to hate, deceive and lie, hurt each other? Why does it never end? The sorrow keeps on repeating Wailing, come downpours of the rain Will it end? Excellent reaction! The Lovebites have many different sides: check out "Soldier stands solitarily" and "Soul defender", and you'll see the ladies go wild and fast! And today they have released the new EP on their YT channel, with new amazing 5 songs!
i swear lovebites doesn't any bad songs. in the past, i would often ship songs by bands iliked , but now i don't do that with bands i listen to frequently. e.g. babymetal, band maid, lovebites, nemophila, east of eden…😊
In my opinion this is, by far, the best rendition of this song that I have heard. The opening piano was stripped down a bit which, to me, kept more focus on some outstanding vocals. I think I heard a bit of spice added to Miyako's first solo. Maybe she's using the extra speed she learned from Midori.
Your reaction looked very similar to my own when I first saw their 2020 performance of this masterpiece. A brilliant epic song from start to finish. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
