This is probably their most unique song. You could tell they were all having fun. Watch Asami and her expressions when Miyako is "hamming it up" and then later on when she stands between M&M.
Such a fun song, Never imagined I would be watching a video of 5 women rocking a 80s like tune with a key-tar, But I think the song is great, I listen to it often from their Golden Destination Single/EP. It has a cool nostalgia feel to it, I love it.
I love this song, it doesn't get more 80' 90' Survivor/Europe than this, a song for the band to take a breather, the ladies can do anything, really relaxing for Haruna. Great Tuesday surprise

Miyako also plays the drums and needed a bass line to write a song so she taught herself how to play the bass. And M&M is the best duel guitarist in metal.
I love your reactions. You are my favorite couple. I suggest you start doing Miyako Mondays. Last year she released a six song EP of heavy metal covers. You should check out her cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free piano solo. She also has her own TH-cam channel where she plays bits and pieces of guitar and piano music. Take all the ingredients of 80s synthie rock/metal like Survivor or Europe and turn it into something new and brilliant and awesome, that's Lovebites! One of my absolute favorites from them. Btw, give Miyako a rusty bucket and a broom stick in her hands and I'm sure she'd make it sound truly wonderful 😊
Often I wish that Miyako would just tap some rhythm on some guitar's scratch plate, and she would still storm the charts. 😂 She is a one-off, head and shoulders above many other musicians. To me, she is a musical _prodigy_ . DE/GER
On this song I feel the flavour of the Swedish band of the 80'S & 90' S " EUROPE" hair metal ( FM Metal) like their song Final Countdown " . Miyako is so funny sometimes. She's a out of this world class muscian
They never disappoint, do they? I love that the always serious Miyako was having so much fun here. That is one of the things I love most about these women, they have *fun* and do not hesitate to show that. Only Band-Maid comes close to the amount of joy that Lovebites shows while playing, for me. :)
I love the 80's synth vib in this song, and Its great to see Miyako having some fun with it. This is the 2021 'Covid' concert when Miyako was pregnant.
The Gringa, thank you for mentioning Miho's basswork. Too many people are of the opinion that she is not as technically savvy as some of her contemporaries, but that's just not so. Miho and Haruna, the groups founders have a common work history previous to LOVEBITES; one of those bands being Destrose, a group which has produced some of the greatest female icons in Japanese rock and metal history. To prove my point may I suggest you watch her with the group - CHAOS CONTROL - The Legacy Within (OFFICIAL VIDEO) here on TH-cam. 🙏🕊&❤
All the of the accolades for the their stunning musicianship sometimes obscures the fact that Lovebites' #1 reason for being so appealing is the melodies that pour out of them. Asami's vocal lines are almost always melodic beyond description---and these are fresh melodies and not retooled for a given song. Their intervals and insane up and down tonal movement are gifts. Melodic guitar lines are tossed in here and there that contain melodic statements that could be the basis for entire songs in other bands. Rhythm and beats are what attract us, but it's melody that makes us love---and need---their music.
Those are the different sides of LOVEBITES montage! I wouldn't want to miss any of them. Rhythm and beats are in good hands of Haruna and Miho/Fami (both!), what gives M&M a lot of freedom to do what they do best! Asami cuts through all of this and is elevated by a wall of sound where the melody thrieves! Often, the guitar and voice(s) are just different parts of the same melody (which is logical, as Asami considers her vocals as her instrument!)... AllStars in music... that's called a Supergroup.
Definitely!! lots of comments on that. It's hit or miss with this one a lot of people love it and a lot of people hate it for some reason. We both really dug it just because it's so different.
SPELLBOUND was played when half of the program for the day's live performance had been played. They chose this song, which is less taxing, to give a break to the audience, drums, guitar, and above all, Asami's throat, after the hard songs. By the way, after this song, they played "THE UNBROKEN ---> A FROZEN SERENADE", which is a relatively light song (for them). Even so, I am amazed at LOVEBITES' skill in using songs that are not light for other bands as break songs. --------- from Nippon *This is a text using Google Translate. I hope the intention is conveyed.
Enjoyed the "Bonus " LOVEBITES!!!!!! THANKS 👍!!!!!! The keytar was actually a practical joke the band pulled on Miyako!!! Mainly cuz Miyako is the biggest practical joker of the band and they wanted to "get" her. But it went over so well with the audience they did it for the rest of the tour.
@@TJandTheGringa In the trailer for this live, "Heavy Metal Never Dies," they make clear that this is the first time "Spellbound" and six other songs have been played live. Sadly, more than any other fanbase by far, LOVEBITES fans just make up stuff and say it.
This is Lovebites own genre, a combination of everything and all around. When I first heard this song I immediately thought of Saga's "On the Lose" and Europe's "It's the Final Countdown. Lovebites rules and most of everything else is mediocre or garbage. I love Fami who is the perfect choice for Lovebites but dang it I sure do miss Miho's thundering bass. Oh forgot to mention this is a hidden gem that can only be found in a very rare CD the EP of Golden Destination which was released on February 19,2020 as a single. In the same EP/single you will find another rare gem that has not been played live, if I'm not mistaken it was played at a private party and it is called "Puppet on Strings" It is a phenomenal song, and no one has ever reacted to it as of yet.
I remember this one; The concert was randomly streamed on the official channel one afternoon and I laughed at the keytar part. Miyako was with child at the time (don't know which version of mini-Miyako she had though) and she did a great job as always. I do remember Miho being not quite happy at the end and looked a bit uncomfortable during the outro part (where they call each other by the nicknames) and I think she left after that 😓 But then Fami joined and Lovebites continued 😍 Great review
6:40 to 7:11 , 8:06 to 8:50 *The perfect* LOVEBITES moments once more. 😃 And Midori *smiling* so happy and bright! 😄 They f~~~ing *killed* it, and they know it! 😄 DE/GER
I used to call "Spellbound" their hidden gem, but then they played the song for this concert and the gem was no longer hidden. It was originally released on the "Golden Destination" single along with "Puppet on Strings" and the only LOVEBITES recording I dislike, an orchestral version of "Thunder Vengeance." I like this song because it's LOVEBITES going out of their safe zone of power and thrash metal. They do their most memorable work when they go outside of the box ("Spellbound," "Frozen Serenade," "Dystopia Symphony").
I knew that this one would blow you away!!!!! Glad that you liked it and will be caffeinating you again soon!!!!! Thanks for the shout-out and thank you for what you do!!!!!
Clint! Thanks so much for this one man. As you could probably tell we were both floored with it .. mostly cuz of Miyakos insame diversity and of course that 80s synth throwback. It a wonderful sight to be able to witness! So grateful to you for your support to the channel‼️..Appreciate you and Thanks a million for being here with us all! 🤘😜
Thank you so much, Clint, for suggesting this. 👏 _Perfect_ suggestion, leading to one of the f~~~ing best videos/reactions on this channel. 👍The faces of our 2 appreciated people here, their disbelief and their gratitude are _priceless_ . 😁 🥲 I will watch this video time and again. 😊 DE/GER
Hello dearest Tequila Amigo and la Gringa i love to watch your reaction on three coffees, yeah now to the point all that tour concert Miyako was around 5th month pregnant. To play in this condition for around 2 hours is something else. I never heard someone else make such a thing. And that says a lot. Yeah this song shows how diverse this band is. I know you are still in the beginning of the journey, still got lots to experience so I'm gonna put another request please check the opening song from the same concert When destiny's align. Thanks for another amazing reaction, and i can say now you are something else like music channel reactors. Much love and hugs from your humble subscriber, greetings from London 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I agree with the Gringa, Ive always seen a lot of similarities between their songs and classical music, I even think some of the classical geniuses like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Liszt, Chopin, Paganini, etc… said, let’s reincarnate into 5 (now 6 with Fami) Japanese girls and freak everybody there on earth, and have fun in the process 😅 Saludos desde México amigos!!!
Miyako really is The Golden Touch! I would like to see Lovebites and Liliac do a collaboration, Melody of Liliac has such unique vocals that could reach the stratosphere with Asami! If you haven't checked out Liliac I suggest you do.
Miyako is a beauty AND a beast on that keytar. And when she and Midori harmonize... this song has a certain 80's vibe to it, and that makes me very nostalgic. Speaking of Miyako and keys, have you heard her piano cover of Helloween's Eagle Fly Free (the whole band did a "normal" cover of it as well)? Metal and classical music aren't that different. Strip a metal song down, and play it on, let's say a piano, and you get a classical masterpiece. One of my absolute favorite examples of this, is Harp Twins cover of Metallica's One, played on, you guessed it, a harp. The other way around works too, take a classical piece, like Moonlight Sonata, plug it in, and someone like Tina S can turn it into a shred fest. Some reaction suggestions, if you haven't watched/heard them already... This song is a song of trylogy of "Magic World" of Asami about the myth of Medusa. The others are : "Wicked witch" (Snow white) and from the last EPII "Bell in the Jail" (The Unchback of Notre Dame). Thank You!
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu No need to say nothing about this. It's like the trilogy about the IIWW or the 3 E songs. It's natural to sign the group of some their song, how the list of their albums that are in alphabetic order. It's only the our way of fans to catalogue their production!
@@13uomini I prefer to go with what the band actually says, especially when commenting on reaction videos where the reactors don't know enough about the band to know who is making stuff up (no offense to the reactors). If by "trilogy about the IIWW" you mean "The Apocalypse," "Under the Red Sky," and "Above the Black Sea," Asami herself has said that "Under the Red Sky" is the sequel to "The Apocalypse" and has never said anything about "Above the Black Sea" being related, just that it's about the various su!cide units of World War II. Fans can call it a trilogy if they want, but that's fake news since the writer has said one is not related to the other two.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu You can thinking what you want and more fan and i we think what we want. If we think that this songs are related for us, it's also because Lovebites did never say the contrary and to say that it's a fake news it's this one a fake news. Then, i don't make the music journalist!
@@13uomini But LOVEBITES has said to the contrary. “Above the Black Sea” isn’t related to any other song, and “The Apocalypse” is part one and “Under the Red Sky” is part two. There is no part three.
Great reaction with an 80s arena metal vibe! Do not know if this is true, but on my trip to Japan in September (for Lovebites TGT event) I was told, the "X" Miyako playfully sported is a very strong form of "No" in Japan since Japanese people are generally too polite to give you the finger. 😆😆😆
I have been to Japan many times and I actually know that is very true. A lot of my Japanese friends do that. So that is spot on. Thanks so much for watching and supporting us Jens!!
@@TJandTheGringa if you guys want to see LB in their full glory, you need to visit Japan as they’ve just announced 8 dates in their 2025 between Jan and March. In Japan they get to play in front of larger audience so they can play longer sets and show off all their instruments and songs, Asami announced in this tour they plan to play some of their songs that have never been previously played live.
@@TJandTheGringa Yes, google it on line. They’ve announced a couple of weeks ago. I flew to London from NY to see them this past summer. They were great and I thoroughly enjoyed it but it was a bare bone no thrill show. Watching them at home is the only way to capture all their magic. I wish I could join you but I won’t know until Dec. Enjoy.
if i really really really gun to my head -had to dump a lovebites song it would be this one but then i see this performance again and wouldn´t wanna miss it for the world ...looking forward to lovebites wednesday
Lovebites and Battle Beast would be a great tour. Battle Beast uses keytar. Noora and Asami would be AMAZING together. Fans of Lovebites would like Battle Beast, and vice-versa. Merge the fan-base.
Very 80s music, love it. Lovebites is always surprising without talking about Miyako. As usual great reaction. Looks like this song and play resonated a lot with lady Gringa. I like your channel really ❤❤
You absolutely have to make sure "Today Is The Day" is on your list. The song is a deep cut that doesn't get much reactor traction, but it's a brilliant piece of writing. It's got gallops, pinch harmonics, octaves, dive bombs, and interwoven solos along with a great message. Ohh, and Asami playing piano with a smile that could stop a World War. Here's it's link th-cam.com/video/ruAm4zTCTn8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=--iypESHSg66gyhD
That was crazy. I get the "Rocky" vibes. I'm not surprised about anything Miyako can do. But I enjoy the animation of this performance for sure. She is usually so stoic.
Sooo happy you talked about the Berlin Philharmonic and how you see Lovebites as a metal version. Not sure if I told you but I’ve been playing professionally in orchestras for over 42 years, among other genres as well. The Berlin Phil is one of my favourite orchestras.😊❤ I think not only is it great to be alive during the era of Lovebites but Band-Maid, The Warning, Nemophila and other artists too.
The keytar was also used by Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, so for me, the instrument has a stronger jazz/fusion image than rock. Most instrument makers had stopped producing the keytar, but it has shown signs of revival in the past few years, with Roland and Korg introducing new models.
Cool as fuck indeed. 😁 I shed tears of amazement, my eyes magnetically drawn to the screen... 😊 LOVEBITES = "Masterpieces, Inc." All these all-female Metal bands from Japan.... oh my goodness... My *dream* = a joint tour of LOVEBITES and HÁGANE. My ultra-lunatic *super-dream* : A joint tour of LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie and HÁGANE. 😊 DE/GER
Was wondering when you'd get to this one. It makes me think of Europe's - Final Countdown. I wonder how heavy those keytars are seeing as it's a pregnant Miyako in this performance. See you tomorrow. ☺☺
Great reaction again! I like the Haley's comet comment, that is what LOVEBITES is like, a band like this does not come around very often, so glad to be able to listen to these awesome ladies, love this song, and Midori showing she can hold down all the lead guitar work on her own if needed. 🤘🐺🤘🎸🎹
With your knowledge of music, I would love to see what you think of the 3 videos on Miyako's own channel, (Miyako Metal TV) where she shows how she writes, arranges & records her music. Absolutely amazing.
This song also got great lyrics, check them out! It's a fairy tale about beautiful girl who was put under the curse and her beauty was taken away. People started avoiding her and song emphatize how wrong it is that once beauty is gone people don't want to look at her anymore. It's kinda like when Fiona was turned into an ogre in Shrek ;)
I really love this song. Yes, this song shows how versatile they are. They’re proficient musicians so they can play anything or almost anything. This song is so different but, at least to me, it still sounds so Lovebites. Some people remember “The final countdown” by Europe. Another song with a classic rock vibe is “Dancing with the devil”, showcasing Asami’s R&B, soul and jazz background. She’s not opera trained, her voice is just clean with vibrato.
I would call Miyako, "Jordan Rudess Jr.". Granted Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater has many many more years of experience, Miyako is well on her way to being on his level already in her young career.
I'd say Miyako's keyboard skills are at least as good as Jordan's, and she is certainly better on the guitar. She just hasn't experienced the success that Jordan has in Dream Theater (yet?).
@@1970Phoenix Jordan can full on harmonize complicated solos on guitar and keyboard at the same time. Miyako (so far) has only shown the capability to do simple 5ths on guitar while solo riffing on keyboard. I don't think people realize just how crazy Jordan is on guitar, simply because he doesn't showcase it often. Almost as good as his keyboard playing ; )
@@DennisKent exactement ! J'adore Lovebites... mais que l'on arrête dans les commentaires de dire que c'est le "plus grand groupe" de metal du monde ! Elles font partie des meilleurs... c'est tout.
@@Jean-LucBerthommier The word "greatest" is ambigious and needs to be defined before any meaningful discussion can happen. I avoid this word, and prefer to talk about musicianship, as that is a more objective measure. So, using the standard of "musicianship", I can make a reasonable case that LOVEBITES are in the top three metal bands active today. To keep my justification short, I'll just say that I'm only aware of three metal bands on the planet that could play this song live (with the assistance of backing tracks that are recorded by band members): th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html Those three bands are: LOVEBITES, Dream Theater and Symphony-X.

It was a breathtaking beauty, yes even for God
Unforgiving love will make you blind to see calamity
Approaching and already at your feet
Until you're put under a curse
No one comes closer
No one is looking anymore
Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers
No longer attractive
Nobody knows what was lost
Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight
People don't realize how badly their sins can hurt someone
Should they be forgiven ?
Or have they sinned for eternity ?
Which one has hers ?
One day her beautiful hair turned into demons
Feared by everyone, she's left alone and avoided
Unforgiving sins will bring you closer to your judgement day
Leaving you with nothing left to say
Until you are out of time
No one comes closer
No one is looking anymore
Even plants, even birds, butterflies, trees and flowers
No longer attractive
Nobody knows what was lost
Even stars, even clouds, the sky and the sun and the moonlight

Wow now that was Super cool .. 👌this song really bounces along and gets you grovin .. oh The Talent and versatility is Crazy 😮😮
When asked to join a band, Miyako accepted if it was metal.
This episode may be a testament to how much she loves the category of metal.
Yeah, Miho is a fantastic bassist and also a talented songwriter.
I love this song. It's very different from their usual fare as you've said and so damn catchy. Also the lyrics are really cool, go look them up!
We did‼️ ..fkin awesome!!!
I've said it before and i will say it again Miyako is the most talented musican i have seen since Prince. She has a high music IQ
Agreed!! 💯
I feel so f~~~ing _privileged_ to know their music. DE/GER
This is pure LOVEBITES magic.
Rhythm and beats are what attract us, but it's melody that makes us love---and need---their music.
a nice statement, so true . . .
Give Miyako a bagpipe and she will shock you in 10 minutes.....
😂😂.. you can give her a stick and a can and she will arrange an amazing song in under an hr lol.
Give Miyako any musical instrument, and Midori any string instrument, and they are performing a harmonized solo in 5 minutes. M&M are just perfection.
The first time I heard this song I thought Final Countdown Europe Vibes
Definitely!! lots of comments on that. It's hit or miss with this one a lot of people love it and a lot of people hate it for some reason. We both really dug it just because it's so different.
Lost in the garden live with, la campanella intro next, with a nice solo surprise on piano.

After this song, they played "The Unbroken."

Don't forget Miyako was also pregnant here ; ), she's a total bad-ass
A surprising and less known song? "Addicted"!

!!!GOODISM 80sl¡¡¡ LOVEBITES is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Greetings from Argentina
Enjoyed the "Bonus " LOVEBITES!!!!!! THANKS 👍!!!!!! The keytar was actually a practical joke the band pulled on Miyako!!! Mainly cuz Miyako is the biggest practical joker of the band and they wanted to "get" her. But it went over so well with the audience they did it for the rest of the tour.
There's no practical joke here. That was _clearly_ staged.
Love that...She knew about it here but im guessing you mean the first time they did it 😃
@@TJandTheGringa In the trailer for this live, "Heavy Metal Never Dies," they make clear that this is the first time "Spellbound" and six other songs have been played live. Sadly, more than any other fanbase by far, LOVEBITES fans just make up stuff and say it.
Great reaction by Tequila Jimmy The Gringa❤❤❤❤❤.for great heavy metal band....
🔥💖💚💙💜
Please reaction Liar, my favorite song by Lovobites, thank you !
GlassMoonGaming is the only one I remember who reacted to „Puppet on Strings“
@@stand.and.deliver.5 Oh yeah I remember
I remember this one; The concert was randomly streamed on the official channel one afternoon and I laughed at the keytar part. Miyako was with child at the time (don't know which version of mini-Miyako she had though) and she did a great job as always.
I do remember Miho being not quite happy at the end and looked a bit uncomfortable during the outro part (where they call each other by the nicknames) and I think she left after that 😓 But then Fami joined and Lovebites continued 😍
Great review
Thank you so much for being here ☺️
6:40 to 7:11 , 8:06 to 8:50 *The perfect* LOVEBITES moments once more. 😃 And Midori *smiling* so happy and bright! 😄 They f~~~ing *killed* it, and they know it! 😄 DE/GER
Just playing those clips back gave me the Goosebumps! Such a gift to us All!
I used to call "Spellbound" their hidden gem, but then they played the song for this concert and the gem was no longer hidden. It was originally released on the "Golden Destination" single along with "Puppet on Strings" and the only LOVEBITES recording I dislike, an orchestral version of "Thunder Vengeance."
I like this song because it's LOVEBITES going out of their safe zone of power and thrash metal. They do their most memorable work when they go outside of the box ("Spellbound," "Frozen Serenade," "Dystopia Symphony").
Puppet on Strings is also amazing.
This was a surprise. I am not sure I love it. But I love that they do it. And I would love it as a part of a concert. Mixing things is fun.
Its great to see them doing all kindsa new stuff and playing outside the sandbox 😃
Gotta love how Lovebite's mixes their music. Great to see the Bass guitar not drowned in the mix.
Now the reaction while she plays 2 instruments at the same time 😊
I knew that this one would blow you away!!!!!
Thank you so much for all of your insightful comments. We love reading them. BIG HUG TO YOU!! 🤗🍻

@@TJandTheGringa u r weloome 🤝

@@TJandTheGringa You're welcome, I think you'll like them.
This song is a song of trylogy of "Magic World" of Asami about the myth of Medusa. The others are : "Wicked witch" (Snow white) and from the last EPII "Bell in the Jail" (The Unchback of Notre Dame). Thank You!
Where did they say that?
Are tickets already on sale??
@@TJandTheGringa Yes, google it on line. They’ve announced a couple of weeks ago. I flew to London from NY to see them this past summer.
I think Midori is underrated, because Miyako is multi-talented.
I think Midori is also amazing but you are most likely correct on that ☺️
You know, Miyako can slap a bass pretty well and play drums as well.
I don't think there is anything the band can't do if they wanted to.
Yes one of my favourites !
I back this recommendation.
I second this suggestion. Not sure why it gets less attention from reactors, but it's phenomenal.
I concur, a forgotten masterpiece.
The Berlin Phil is one of my favourite orchestras.😊❤
I think not only is it great to be alive during the era of Lovebites but Band-Maid, The Warning, Nemophila and other artists too.
oh Wow.. SO AWESOME to hear this Robin.. What instrument do you play??
The keytar was also used by Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, so for me, the instrument has a stronger jazz/fusion image than rock.
Most instrument makers had stopped producing the keytar, but it has shown signs of revival in the past few years, with Roland and Korg introducing new models.
Cool as fuck indeed. 😁 I shed tears of amazement, my eyes magnetically drawn to the screen... 😊 LOVEBITES = "Masterpieces, Inc."

watching them here it's obvious who's the boss in this song - look at miyako on that synth and the keytar - she IS the badassest !
Straight up Savage ‼️
With your knowledge of music, I would love to see what you think of the 3 videos on Miyako's own channel, (Miyako Metal TV) where she shows how she writes, arranges & records her music.
Absolutely amazing.
I think this song figure just on this live album.
WOW..... YES MIYAKU HAS TO BE THE BEST MUSICIAN ON THE PLANET
We will most def be checking that out! Stay tuned!

To keep my justification short, I'll just say that I'm only aware of three metal bands on the planet that could play this song live (with the assistance of backing tracks that are recorded by band members): th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html
Those three bands are: LOVEBITES, Dream Theater and Symphony-X.
