    As a Rock guy (Lapidary) I loved this story. While working in the Rexburg temple I heard some interesting stories from some of the stone masons. Of most interest are the agates in the windows on the celestial level. The most prominent is the inside window at the end of the hallway between sealing rooms. The window maker started this in one of the Texas temple when they found agates when digging the foundation/basements.
    The practice comes from Isaiah 54:11
    And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones
    Message me and I can give you a little more information

    I see this stone staircase every week during my service in this temple and LOVE this story of how a small detail of blue stone is important enough to be held in reserve for over 50 years to be applied in this house of the Lord. THANK YOU for providing this detailed story!

      @@fheontheroad Question for you The LDS Church are saying that they are the church that Jesus started why don't the Bible say that, because in ACTS 7:36-38 Tells us when Jesus started his Church and Isaiah 5:13 let's us know what happened to the church which is the 12 of Israel, so why does the Mormon Church contradicts the Bible

    I love that story. My grandparents were sealed in the Mesa temple in 1939. They sold everything they had and drove from Georgia to get there with their four children to be sealed as a eternal family.

    I love temple stories. I have a good one from the time the Las Vegas temple was dedicated. It’s regarding two round etched glass pieces (about 5’ wide) which survived the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Have you heard it?

    Mesa Temple was built 98 years ago. Sure it was the same guy?

    • @fheontheroad
      @fheontheroad  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      I thought the same thing when I first heard the story, but the Mesa Temple went through extensive renovation in 1974, and I'm assuming that is where the connection of the blue stone came from, and thats why the missionaries told us the stone had been saved for 50 years, not 100.

    I’m a little confused. It seems there’s a detail left out….
    Respectfully, if the Mesa temple was built in 1927, how could a man who helped with the stone construction still be alive ?
    He would have to be at least 120 yrs old, being maybe 20 yrs old in 1927 (maybe more, or a few less ) when the Mesa was being constructed.
    This story COULD be true, as I know the Lord does things like this; however, maybe it was the son of the man who worked on the Mesa temple? IDK…
    The numbers just don’t add up. If a true story is shared, then get all the facts so that it’s believable. If the old stone contractor really was 125 then say so. If not, then say the stone was left behind by him and somehow brought to light.

    • @fheontheroad
      @fheontheroad  วันที่ผ่านมา

      I thought the same thing when I first looked up the information on both temples but the Mesa Arizona Temple had an "extensive remodel" done in February 1974, and it sounds like this was the connection to the stone. That is why the missionaries told us that it was saved for 50 years, not 100.
