One thing we do on our farm to keep the sheds clean, is to pile all of the dirt and dust that we sweep up into a pile somewhere in the shed and go and dump it out away from the shed. This will keep from tracking the dirt back in to the shed. Because if it rains then the dirt turns into mud and then you will track it back into the shed and it will just keep happening.
Peg boards and tool chests have their places. There's tools you can't hang up on peg board above the workbench that obviously go into tool chests. I like to keep sets of sockets on a rack and in a tool chest, different drawers for different drive sizes, SAE and metric seperated as well. Tool chest makes sense for stuff that can easily get loose and is easier to throw into it like sockets, pliers, punches, chisels, etc. But a peg board above the work bench where you can line up a row of end wrenches from smallest to biggest, hang multiple wrenches of the same size on the same peg, hang big channel locks, filter wrenches, crescent wrenches, hitches pins, etc etc is way easier to grab n go, than to fish around in a tool chest. Less weight you carry in the tool chest, the easier it is on drawer roller bearings
Grant one thing you might consider buying is a 30 or 40 foot truck auger. With your two 657 wagons you could have a full semi load on wheels ready to load a hired semi. Sometimes hiring some trucking done helps with logistics and keeping the combine moving. If you are planning on pulling loaded wagons 12 miles down the road you will definitely have to stop and wait in the combine. Something to think about.

A metal workbench would be the way to go so if your welding or using a blowtorch or simply just hitting something a metal one won’t break like a wood one would

Grant get some 8's limestone, when you have fines in your gravel it just makes mud ! When you do build a workbench make sure it's tall , that way you can slide welders, tool boxes and work carts underneath and really keep it clean and save space !

Not fun to work on when you can't get to the part. Since then I always make sure leave it far enough away from the wall. I noticed yours was backed against the wall. Looking forward to more videos.
They have an actual hitch attachment for the skid loader. It hooks like any other implement for it. Safer way to move trailers farm equipment. I have one for my skid loader. Bought it at auction for $75
Should have had the floor coated before putting anything in it. Also should get the walls spray foamed, help keep the bugs and pests out. while helping keep it warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

And I agree with folks: a good steel workbench bought at auction or welded up to practice, could withstand the force required for freeing stuck parts. Non-flammable too. The wood one is good for super light duty flame-free situations. I like watching you build your place! Thank you :) Consider an enclosed trailer? fitted up to sleep in, because you can use regular furniture and stuff, like a pullout sofa, and it would be spacious...maybe an 8x16 near the end of it's life, bought reasonably? just an idea :)
Don't cut holes in the forks. They make a skidloader quick attach plate that has a receiver hitch in it. Get that and one of those tri balls and a regular hitch then you slip them in and out just like your truck hitch. Way easier.

They have some great work bench kits (Simpson strong-tie) to custom design a bench. It isn't hard to do either and that is how I made a bench. Keep up the good work.
Just a little tip put a key to get into your shed somewhere hidden outside you will be kicking your self the day you forget your key and have to drive a half an hour to go get it
Corn is drying down really good you won't be long before harvesting, we're done with corn in Louisiana yields were really good this year, some early soybeans have been cut in my area the rest are drying down really fast!!
One thing about those beans Grant is that they typically look a little rough anyways when they start to drop their leaves as the plant shuts down and loses some strength but as it dries up and loses more leaves it will look much better.

With windows that low to the ground I would recommend cameras , alarm,maybe even chain link fenced in with gate. Or a hell of a good Insurance policy!!. Thieves will keep you cleaned out if you don't watch it
Grant, I just got a bunch of Outback wraps, for my 6140m, they are really inexpensive, and I got them on Amazon, They are color coded to the scv's and also lettered. So when you go to hook up, it is super fast and easy. You might want to talk to Dougo Larson about his floor sweeper game... LOL maybe he can give you some tips on keeping the new shop clean.
Not at the moment. I've had a plan to eventually move the farm closer to home/where I grew up. Am possibly looking to buy a whole farm with sheds & grain storage in the future, and then just add on to that. Possibly buy from a retiring farmer if everything aligned good! Who knows tho! So as of right now I don't want to spend too much on infrastructure.

Should have used double wall plastic pipe in the ditch like Chris Letsdig18 uses. Especially if you're in a state that Sal's the roads in the winter. You'll never change it again. Metal lasts only 10 to 20 years or less depending on road salt damage and you have to replace it.
Double wall would of saved me a bunch of money! The only issue I was possibly worried about was burning the ditch. I would guess this steel would last a lot longer than 10-20 years tho! Should last longer than plastic I would think

Get a bunch peg board. Amazing what all you can hang up on the wall and how much more organized it can be vs throwing it into a toolbox
Label the drawers and put stuff in the right place and it’ll be fine

I’ve used a hole saw to cut holes into pallet forks before. Takes awhile and a good drill but it’s works.
Anytime I see an upload from this channel my day is made.

Hey Grant, on your tractor when you put it in gear you dont have to use the clutch. you just have to flip it in gear and it takes off pretty smooth
Yes, for some reason i still tend to use clutch a lot. Starting to break that habit tho!
