Always looking forward to your next video grant. Been farming for 10 years, and it’s awesome to see a young guy just getting out there and learning everything on his own. hope you’re able to pick up some rented acres in the next few seasons and expand your operation. Keep it up buddy.
Hey Grant, when your combining that down corn, increase your head speed. You can still slow the combine down, but increase the real speed. You won’t plug the head so much. Another thing, when your going slower with the combine, and and if the stocks are just a little wet, remember, normally the combine head pulls the corn cobb off the stock. So when the stocks are wet, it’ll plug up faster! Thank you for letting us watch you farm! Also, I hope you know, I don’t want you to think I’m criticizing. Hopefully it’s constructive, it’ll help in the rest of your harvest, for years to come! It’s just a few ideas! Once again, thank you, Spencer, and your family for letting us all watch, and be part of your family!… When I was little, and my Grandma past away, I begged my mom & dad to let me take over her farm. It was over a half section, and the best ground in that area. Well, the rest of my mom’s brothers & sisters chose to sell the land instead. I Loved her farm, spent lots of Summers there, with my oldest sister! Anyways, thank you all. P.S. I hope and pray you do a video with all the numbers. Bushels per acre for beans and corn, maybe even your running costs. I don’t think it’d be a great Idea to say how much you made or lost. I could see a certain political party use the TH-cam videos to go after ya. Imagine, if they want to know about 600.00’s, I can’t imagine what they’d do with your numbers, if they didn’t match up to their numbers! I’d bet they’d charge people with tax evasion. And No, I’m not saying that about you, I’m saying if they start doing it for 600.00, they would use the tax evasion to destroy people! We see how they lie, oh, we’d never mandate masks or the vaccines, instead we’ll make companies make the mandate! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr, this party is Wicked Evil! God Bless Are ya selling anything like shirts, you may want too!
I would try to do some custom harvesting once the corn is done. You have set yourself up fairly decent with the equipment, now you can get some more land.
Yes, bu you don’t want to put a whole ton of miles on your tractor hauling grain to the elevator or to there bin sight. You would want a semi and trailer and a grain cart, 850 bushel, to run with your 8110
@4thgenmnfarmer There’s got a guy here I’m from thst has a 8110 and he has I think a 950 , not for sure, idk what the brand is. He doesn’t fill it full on hills because it is to much for the tractor, plus his 9600 jd combine will barely clear it to. They have no issue with it.
Hi Grant! My name's Dustin, I'm 12 and when I watch your videos of real life farming, you inspire me to live out my dream of being a farmer. You have teached me a lot of things by just posting your real life farming videos, and I thought I would never make it in farming but you inspire me! I hope you have a great time!
You are such an awesome influence for me I wanted to be a crop farmer since I was sooo young and I had no idea how I could and I respect you grant great job I bet you’re family is proud of you 👏 you’re AWSOME
Yo Grant! Coming from a mechanic, the perfect chain tension on most combines (especially JDs), is where you can slide the chain side to side on the sprocket but you cant lift/pull the chain off the sprocket! Thanks for being such an inspiration brother!
Man I have followed you for so long , and I have rapidly watched you evolve into an incredible person . I’m 33 years old and look up to all the hard work you have done and what you have achieved ! Job well done ! Rob from Niagara Falls Ontario Canada
It feels weird to me. I used to watch you farm in farming simulator. Now look how far you have come. You've got your own real life farm. Brings a tear to my eye
Hey Grant love to see you get out there and give it a shot, I have been doin this awhile and i think you would have more luck if you increase your speed. can't wait to see the rest of the your corn harvest good luck, Yee Yee.
This is awesome, Grant! You went even deeper now in this one. Lots of great information-value too. The more familiar you are getting with what you are doing, the more I see you putting yourself into it. It seems like new layers of growth opportunity keep coming up. It's fun to watch! :) Thank you!
Just so ya know for later use…. When you pick your corn make sure it is 14% moisture and lower because at 15% and higher that is when you get docked. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🌽🌽🌽
Great video Grant. Excited to see what's next on your list of farm equipment investments once you are finished with harvest. Sprayer and a second tractor maybe? Keep up the good work!
Just heads up idk if you did this but when you test moisture id take a round or 2 through middle of field and test that. the headlands are not good to go off of. but i love watching you and to see someone as determined as you are to figure out farming
Great video Grant, I must say there are a lot of green eyed monster watching you live the dream, good on you pal, your doing a great job and I’m speaking from experience, have done the job for many years, keep up with the maintenance and never forget to use the grease gun, it’s cheaper than bearing mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
For all the actuators, fan, sieve, chaffer, concave move them all fully open to fully closed at least once per harvest season. It will help them from getting stuck.
Well another Awesome video. I know there is alot to learn and it's like Firefighting you keep learning everyday but you got me worried I won't or can't learn it all but yeah um great video glade it's going good. Please be around if I ever get to do anything. Y'all have fun. Thank You for the video. And hey I get to say it to y'all to now I Appreciate what you do for this country and for this world I Thank You. Hey brother your doing it. It's real. Thank You.
Just finished watching all your videos! You're living the dream my friend! When you start looking for more tractors look at Massey ferguson, awesome tractors and you can get real good deals on them because they're not jd green. 7620 would be a good one for you
If you have trouble figuring out your concave spacing it’s in metric so you can take a metric wrench and whatever fits snug but not tight of the cob with kernels off you can set the spacing at that wrench size
That corn ground will nice for pheasant hunting, stocks are not stomped, so they can hide and it probably has some corn on the ground so some nice feed, the fields with the older and less gps combines are always the best peasant hunting🤣🤣
Just make sure you ratchet strap the centerpoint of the head whenever you transport FYI my steel or head has high chance of coming off the trailer. Know from experience. Must do don’t know if you do or not
Seeesh. Finally the corn harvest time :D I'm very glad that you are doing at least fragments of what is happening on the farm for us, even though you have a lot of it. Go on, buddy, I'll keep my fists for the next days, months, years! LIKE :-)
Hey man your vids are awesome and just a heads up you can put the header you are not useing on the old tractor tires, thanks for awesome content keep on rolling. ; )
Would you consider planting a cover crop such as clover or similar? This would add organic matter to the soil as well as fix nitrogen and decrease your fertiliser bill
If you take the atu out of your tractor you could run auto steer in your combine using the row feelers on the corn head. It’s really handy to have in down corn.
If the corn is still attached to the cobb it’s more than likely header loss which with downed corn will happen, but if it’s just kernels on the ground, try slowing down your ground speed, sometimes you will run the ground speed too fast and the high speed of the rotor won’t help as much as it statistically should, and if it still is blowing corn out the back tighten everything up a little bit
the most IMPORTANT setting, is to make double damn sure, that cob defector is down for the corn, those things will destroy your chaffer in nothing flat!
We had the same problem with our liner on our 8100 and pins did not work at all neither did glue so Deere took it all out and just covered the vents with a thick liner which was good because more air comes out the vents by the steering wheel. Love the videos Grant keep it up.
213? Nice man. Are you going to go over harvest end finances when everything is done? Really interested in how much ROI you’re looking at for those beans.
At 17:40 look on the ground grant … to much corn on the ground… that corn came out the back of combine and not head loss … standing corn vs picked corn.. 1200 is a lot on fan I usually run 950 to 1050 in a 9770 with 8 row… well done for first time though
Always looking forward to your next video grant. Been farming for 10 years, and it’s awesome to see a young guy just getting out there and learning everything on his own. hope you’re able to pick up some rented acres in the next few seasons and expand your operation. Keep it up buddy.

For the algorithm. Likes, comments, shares, and subscriptions help your content creators more than you realize. Keep it up Grant!
I would try to do some custom harvesting once the corn is done. You have set yourself up fairly decent with the equipment, now you can get some more land.
For sure if you spend the amount of money he did on that equipment you would want to use it as much as possible I would think
Great idea

I'm not sure 10 acres a day will get you custom harvest jobs. !!!! You hire custom help to get it done !!
Congratulations on your first harvest!
My first corn crop was 213 bu total!
Stay safe .
Keep Smilin!!

@@granthilbert5632 YES!!!! I was finally able to give advice to my hero!
Gathering chain tension is 3/16” from the tube to the bolt that one is important

You’re literally living out my dream.. one day
The head liner material is backed on foam that can deteriorate over time and let go. It shouldn't drop like that the machine is not that old.
It feels weird to me. I used to watch you farm in farming simulator. Now look how far you have come. You've got your own real life farm. Brings a tear to my eye

You are encouragement for small farmers🚜👀🗽🇺🇸
You are starting from zero like I will have to! You have given me even more inspiration to go after my my dreams keep up the amazing videos!!
This is so cool to watch, hats off to you both for starting from square one. Must be a great feeling!

Congratulations on your first successful harvest Grant! Was a long time coming but now you're off and running. Can only get better from here!
Thanks Bill!
The excitement is evident in this one. Very interesting stuff.
Yessss I’ve been waiting for this!!!!
Hello from Saskatchewan, Canada great videos thanks for sharing
Keep up man! Be grateful for your brother and father, big help!
Great video Grant. Excited to see what's next on your list of farm equipment investments once you are finished with harvest. Sprayer and a second tractor maybe? Keep up the good work!
This is really cool to watch. Thank you for sharing it.
Always spin the cylinder belt when you are going from high to low or low to high. Just ensures that it is definitely locked in.
you are doing a good job
Your videos are so cool! Keep up the good work, happy harvest, and YEE YEE!
Imagine not giving all these videos a like man. This is quality content to see everything coming together nicely. Look forward to it every time grant!
Just heads up idk if you did this but when you test moisture id take a round or 2 through middle of field and test that. the headlands are not good to go off of. but i love watching you and to see someone as determined as you are to figure out farming
Hi, if you have any possibility, get manure to these fields. The quality of the dirt will massively improve, and so will your yields✌️
*I drop everything when I see that you've posted! **#TeamGrant*

Great video enjoy watching keep the great work
I grow up watching you vid

Love this content! Cheers from Sweden! 😄
Another great video, you guys should be proud of what you have achieved and rightly so, well done, thanks for posting 👍 👏 👏 👍, love this channel 👍
Best kind of harvest finally here!!
Just make sure you ratchet strap the centerpoint of the head whenever you transport FYI my steel or head has high chance of coming off the trailer. Know from experience. Must do don’t know if you do or not
I love watching this and think you are doing a really great job and hope everything runs smoothly the rest of harvest
Hey Grant love your vids and hope to have a farm like you when I grow up
Love watching you videos on the bus grant all ways good
Dude you’re pure happiness makes me love life
3M spray adhesive will work on that headliner.
It’s going to feel like hell cleaning that combine. I cleaned a few and it took me a whole week just for 1 of them
Nice job Grant love your videos
one of our tractors interior was coming off so we put screws with washers and had no problems
love the harvest vids
I like watching your videos
Did you see Brian's farming videos from the other day they shelled a 300 plus bushels of corn
For good advice on setting combines for beans or corn, check out Calmer’s Corn Heads channel. Marion is a combine savant.
Funny you say that. I legit spend a couple hours watching his channel, about 2 weeks ago!
Seeesh. Finally the corn harvest time :D I'm very glad that you are doing at least fragments of what is happening on the farm for us, even though you have a lot of it. Go on, buddy, I'll keep my fists for the next days, months, years! LIKE :-)
i hope you have a good year grant
11:30 "We should be good." Combine : BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
You need to get cab kit spray glue for the headliner same thing happened in our combine
“10-4 let’s roll buttcrack”🤣🤣
Not sure how far u are from the co-op but you can tow in a light wagon with ur truck. Save some wear on tractor tires… they are expensive.
Grant your RL videos are my favorite videos on TH-cam to watch! They are so entertaining!
Hey man your vids are awesome and just a heads up you can put the header you are not useing on the old tractor tires, thanks for awesome content keep on rolling. ; )
I guess I took for granted that I always had my dad to ask what to do… I can’t imagine learning all this on the fly ..
Would you consider planting a cover crop such as clover or similar? This would add organic matter to the soil as well as fix nitrogen and decrease your fertiliser bill
Keep it up Grant your doing great
Flip the speaker covers around that will hold up headliner
Nice
Nice job!!
If you take the atu out of your tractor you could run auto steer in your combine using the row feelers on the corn head. It’s really handy to have in down corn.
love your content it is so good but you seriously need to get a JD 7530 as an second tractor love your content keep up the good work

Good video good work grant
U should try plowing every 7-8 years and then cultivating it and seeding might help the soil with turning it over
We have problems with chaff getting in our actuator, just blow it out and tap it a little with a hammer and it will free up.
Much respect grant glad your getting decent numbers so far I hope you continue to have a great first harvest
I love the harvest videos
I love your corn harvest
41 with beans after a drought and wind that’s pretty decent
And after that corn yield I’m amazed that stuff yielded really decent
@@BrooksFarms_est1950it wasn’t a complete drought we still had rain
@@mrbuff1098 the whole country went through a pretty bad drought but there was a little rain
Love your gaming vids but this is 1000 times better
I would imagine you could get some ranchers to lease your property to clean crop residue.
Glad the farms going good squad!
Live the videos
Love you videos been here on the squad since 2016
Squatting with trying to help you out carry a bunch of tools do the Youngfield
We had the same problem with our liner on our 8100 and pins did not work at all neither did glue so Deere took it all out and just covered the vents with a thick liner which was good because more air comes out the vents by the steering wheel. Love the videos Grant keep it up.

Use a needle and fabric glue for the headliner
At 17:40 look on the ground grant … to much corn on the ground… that corn came out the back of combine and not head loss … standing corn vs picked corn.. 1200 is a lot on fan I usually run 950 to 1050 in a 9770 with 8 row… well done for first time though
