I know this is a little late, and honestly haven't finished the video yet, but about the trailer trick to measure size i recommend doing it once with the top of a tree as you can cut that branch the length of the trailer and carry that piece of wood around and then you dont need to keep moving your trailer and such, its how i do it personally
I am an over the road truck driver. And normally. To be legal normally you don't want to load over forty five thousand pounds. For Example I all those wood pellets and they Can only load twenty two of them. Love your videos, man.
that makes me feel better. I see truck load after truck load driving through my town and those load look so clean and perfectly lined up. Them forestry pros are no joke.
Realistically, it takes 2-3 years for you to actually begin harvesting your lumber. In that time I started growing a few other greenhouse crops to make easy cash but once youre rolling youre good to go
I started playing this game after watching your different vids. It's pretty fun, but I hope FS25 makes significant changes to the forestry user-controls, especially for console-players where some of the Forestry mods that make the game more user friendly aren't available. In particular, as SWU found out around the 1h13m mark, manipulating the arm and claws of the various cutting, grapping, and log loading machines is an unnecessarily difficult time consuming nightmare. I just use the log zipline device to drag trees to the sawmills and eliminate the need for loading trailers/cutting logs into smaller pieces.
About getting stuck on corners. It treats buildings as a solid box. The corner of cement pad is the edge you are sticking on, not the support beam or structure. Awesome series.
Cut the wood in to 2 meter or 6 meter lenghts, thats the most profitable lenghts. I must say it was frustrating watching you throw away all that money by selling unprocessed trees. Love your channel tho, ive learned much from you and your videos.
All the logging stuff on this game is a mega pain in the ass. And truthfully, realism is great but auto loading and having factories distribute to other factories is fine by me. It gets sooo damn slow and boring watching someone forklift pallets and dealing with those trees every few minutes. Be real in other areas but speed up the mundane tasks. Also conveyer belt the mining.
I’m grinding in FS22 on Calm Lands cutting down trees to take to my sawmill and grow planks plus have multiple greenhouses I have a few soybean fields that need plowing to replant but I want a new tractor first
didn't even know there was a thing for that. I need to educate myself again. Seriously thanks for the info. I do learn a lot from the comment section and love it!!!
And this is why I hate lumberjacking on fs22 TH-cam. Tree length affects price. In the first 10 minutes you sold trees worth over 10k for 1500 because they were too long. Spruce max length 6m pine max length 8m otherwise the price drops massively
Length affecting price is realistic certain trees/woodtypes are processed in different ways big bulky trees are used for planks and boards because you can make more planks out of a 8m length of saccoia than let’s say a 8m length of birch because most birch and other poplars are used for chipping that’s why on Silverrun a saccoia has an volume of 45000L at full growth and a spruce got 4800L but if you chip the spruce it will produce like 14000L of Woodchips but a saccoia isn’t really chipable and doesn’t produce a lot of chips cause it needs to be made into firewood bits almost to even handle with a chipper ow and another tip the perfect length is 6m for lodge and 8m for the other kind on silverrun spruce is a chip only bc of low volume when unprocessed chipping increases its volume by almost x3
Hmm I tried this yesterday but was not exactly impressed at first. Think I might try it again here....I absolutely love the concept of this game but I felt it was soulless from an aesthetic standpoint. Do you have any mods installed? I love the idea of starting out logging and then getting into a big farm. Maybe I can find some graphics mods. Don't exactly care about technical quality but I thought the art style was bland. This game really does look fun though!
@@oneill6291 look up Reshade. Its a graphics plugin that gives you an insane amount of control over the graphics and shaders etc. I don’t have the patience to make it look good enough for videos so I stopped using it.
@@FarmingSimSWU Yeah. Just repurchased now. Going to watch some videos on graphics settings and it looks like there are some reshade options that look good. Really want to get into this game, lol.
Ive been a heavy equipment operator and now im a truck driver most things are way harder in farm sim especially since i play on console with controller using equipment to move logs or pallets is horrible i love auto load or move able pallets
Being realistic is fun , but the world agriculture scene is setup with China getting preferential treatment . Except for a few handpicked mega-farms, most farmers at best barely get by. 100% realism no profit- 70% realism fun game. Use the fun mods for viewer enjoyment. Too close to real world would end game for sure. But opinions are like ... lol
i think you should the hard mode, the selling prices R 2 high if you can help me, 'm looking if there any real world prices, it gives more charm & reality to the game
You are welcome to play that way. I play how I find the game fun. Taking multiple years to make a good profit is more realistic but I already do that in real life. My goal is to have fun playing game and attempt to entertain those who watch the videos. If I don’t have fun, it’s pointless to me.
@ Understandable, but for those of us that have been following the series, at least a time stamp to skip to for the last episode would be nice. Love the content man, keep it up. Looking forward to FS25!

I do that work to trucking is in real life is much different than farming simulator
Real life logging is wayyyyyyy easier than on the game.
that makes me feel better. I see truck load after truck load driving through my town and those load look so clean and perfectly lined up. Them forestry pros are no joke.
Cutting is easier in big company logging -- hardly ever use chainsaws anymore. One guy in a closed vehicle does what a whole crew used to do.
I love the way you play not taking 20 minutes to figure out where you place things
Thank you!

I feel like forestry is a little extra aspect that they throw in and treat and doesn't get the attention it deserves to make it better. Sadly,
Winter logging in some parts of Canada do something similar. Easier to slide on snow.
I absolutely love falling asleep to farm sim videos. Especially yours! A lot going on in the world, so this is nice ❤
