DMC5 Vergil DLC Release Date
We mentioned this early on alongside our game announcement, but never gave you a firm date or price. Well, it’s time to change that.
Our dev team has been hard at work in getting DMC5SE ready to launch the same day as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so Vergil will be arriving on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC just a few weeks after that, on December 15th, 2020 and will cost just US$4.99 / €4.99 / £3.99.
To keep you motivated, we’ll leave you with a quick reminder that Vergil will be fully playable on Story Missions, The Void, and Bloody Palace.
An Update on Ray tracing for Xbox Series X|S
We’re excited to bring Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition to Xbox Series X|S with high frame rates up to 120 fps, enhanced 3D audio, reduced loading times, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo Mode and playable Vergil on both consoles.

@Shinidoshi that’s literally Dante’s situation, add on a complex of never feeling like he belongs due to being a half demon and we have a Dante that hides his depressed state behind wacky woohoo pizza man antics while he lays around his house eating ice cream and pizza because he has nothing left in his life post-DMC 1. The anime shows this really well
I love how the game makes the characters play in a way that reflects their personality
It probably not the best way of doing this. But I honestly don't know how you could communicate is type of play style will out just telling them.
@@Coswalker27 The prior way was the style rank system. Vergil ending his Yamato attacks and waiting for the sheathing to end in particular.
I can see why they would consider this to be an extension but it feels much more artificial when we have 3 levels of another meter where having a lower level could have some use for specific properties but it is hard to control the level outside of standing still or getting hit.
Nero had a good concept with revving Red Queen which is controllable but that being said, this seems like the best use of concentration yet even if I don't like it very much.
This version effectively gives Vergil another meter which can be helpful for adding options given that his DT is different but I still want to interact with something that punishes stylish whiffs and who knows what else as infrequently as possible.
I will not be surprised if mods revise it hard.
(Forgot to mention that trying to craft a specific playstyle into gameplay is why Nero can't switch breakers - Itsuno is brilliant but these characters are already distinct if not too much in the case of V)
I think Concentration was implemented as well as it could have been.
@@Coswalker27 I was a big fan of the concentration bar in 4. I'm still waiting for the pc dlc. They could get a similar result without a bar but it would take a rework of all of Vergil's moves. Most of his moves could have a charge and release like judgement cuts and Gilgamesh. The new super moves could require SSS similarly to quadruple S. I think fewer people would like it though.

Nero is a hothead whotries to end things as quick as possible. Even if that means fighting abit dirty.
(Shame that Trish and Lady aren't playable in this game. But I guess we can use 4SE as a reference point.)
Trish borrowed many if Dante's moves, showing the impact he had on her in the 1st game. But still maintains her individuality with original moves of her own, showing she's not afraid of being alone.
Lady... well her title in DMC5 is the "Walking Arsenal." That should tell you all you need to know, and idk what else to say other than she seems to have cooled off since first meeting Dante in DMC3.

I'd really appreciate a tutorial for Just Judgement Cuts, as I see a lot of players using them, but I'm not too clear on the timing/mechanics

I just figured out the rhythm for it recently. You gotta hold down the button until Vergil finishes the animation of the first jc then release immediately after and hold the button again as fast as you can( this has to follow right at the end of the first jc, not too early or late). Repeat that same rhythm for multiple cuts.
You can Just Cut any time he sheathes Yamato. Yes ANY time he sheathes it whether it's at the end of an attack string, during any of his taunts, or even at the end of Mirage Edges attack strings that uses Yamato like it's B combo or it's finisher attack where he grabs both swords and starts spinning. If he's putting the sword away the moment he clicks it in you can just cut. The other way is to time it at the end of any attack with the Yamato like Nero's revving system. It's a bit tricky but the easiest timings are the end of his combo strings.

Dante doesn't need to be concentrated to block rends in space and time with his bare hands
They were at an even draw until Nero showed up and knocked Dante out lol.
Well, in the last fight, dante couldnt hold his stance against vergil. Im pretty sure that if nero didnt show up, vergil would have won at the very end of the clash
No he didn't. Unless you're talking about DMC3 final fight, all the DMC1 fights as Nelo Angelo, or his fight as Urizen, Vergil didn't lose to Dante in DMC5 as their fight was interrupted by Nero. I mean sure you reduced his health bar to zero but you did that in DMC3 and he still ends up with the win.
The world of V move could’ve been even more epic if he summoned Urizen

Mariano Castro urizen is weaker then his sin trigger so maybe reverse them but ya that would be a great idea

How do you unlock Vergil though?
I wanted to add something here:
JCE, Deep Stinger, and hell on earth can be done outside of SDT. However, you need a full SDT bar AND it’ll be depleted as soon as you use the move. If in SDT, you can use any of the ultimate moves as many times as you want until the bar depletes or you exit SDT.

Why someone would borther to use Base JCE , DS and HoE in comparisson to the SDT version , as both needs full SDT and Max Concentration , but with SDT ver. been stronger and can be spammed 3x?
@@phantasosxgames8488 It sounds like a comeback mechanic in part so sloppy players can still use the moves but it also lets people use it once without transforming if they want.
(Hard to imagine a great player having SDT and low concentration but more options)

you forgot to mention that vergil can charge beowulf 3 time(holding attack) at full lvl3 concentration which also come from Dmc4SE(and its broken af if timing it right with Dt/distortion).

1. you should label the concentration gauge levels as "0-2" rather than "1-3", as "0-2" is what the game labels them as
2. the "shoulder check" can be performed at all concentration levels, it only requires you to be in SDT

Hey Devil! I was watch JoJo wifi's stream and it looks like Super Vergil Costume won't have infinite SDT only infinite Doppelganger. Do you know if they might change this or something? Like make how they have super Dante's Dt stinger effect the dt bar. They could have JCE be the thing that effects Super vergil SDT.

Why does using a super move (ex:judgement cut end) use up a whole Sin DT bar, while being human ? You could just transform and get way more out of it.
To balance it out, I guess. It's weird, but I can get behind it, since just using it in human form is a tiny bit faster, which could be the difference between a hit or a miss.
Motivation mechanic.
I find it funny how some people are having difficulty grasping Vergil's playstyle. He's perfect for me and way simpler to understand and learn. His playstyle is exactly what I want in games and I've been able to beat Bloody Palace consistently now. Like I have yet to beat Bloody Palace more than once with any of the other characters but damn do I love tearing it up as Vergil.

when a newcomer to the game wants to learn more about the games technical mechanics and tools it has, people do look up some videos on internet to have like "ooohhhh" effect, but the thing, just a talking guy with flashing texts infront of gameplay we have seen multiple times allready, not helping that much...

@@kylegadson7434 Ok, true to an extent, but still, V is pretty lenient when it comes to whiffing attacks, Vergil not so much, but I get where you're coming from.
Vergil is all speed and dante is all power
Please cover how concentration affects judgement cut, and maybe the timings for it aswell. No matter what I do I can't chain more than 2 at a time
I gotta say this means dante IS stronger. He has kept up with vergil like it was nothing and he uses anything as a weapon and succeeds. Thats true flow state. He just does what he has to next flawlessly to fight and getting hit doesnt weaken him aside fro. Health loss. This sojnds more like a peace guague as flow state is hard if not i possible to pull off if your always angry. Dantes nonchalant thoughts actually make him a masterfull combatant beyond vergil in skill. Makes sense too since vergil just said give me more devil power and dante said im gonna fight and enjoy it wich is literally flow state.
Well, not really. In DMC 3 Dante outclassed him progressively throughout the game because he had a goal that wasn't just "GIMME MORE POWER" and also accepted his human side, whereas Vergil rejected it, this was confirmed through Dante's and Agnus' dialogue in 4. In 5 Vergil accepts his human side because his experiences as V and is evenly matched with Dante until Nero intervenes.
