    How’s it going Tino, I have the same car and I was wondering if you recommend changing the control arm bushings to the GSF/RCF bushings to prevent inner tire wear?

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Franz, if RCF/ISF bushing is compatible, and stiffer, then my answer would be yes i would recommend swapping for a harder rubber versus much softer bushings on our is200t, but i would recommend polyurethane aftermarket if you can afford it. Hope this helps.

    hi tino, nice video. I just got my 16is300. I was wondering if you experienced any inner tire wear on your car? as I am sure you know, there are lots of complaints with inner tire wear, particularly the front tires, that kill tires in 15000mi (or 25000km for me as a Canadian LOL). I saw some comments below that were related to the topic. Whether you experienced it or not, have you upgraded your LCA bushings? I am thinking to do this if I see the inner wear happening to my car. I just got it and lexus put all new brakes and tires so in the 1000km (~620mi) I put on the car, it is too early to tell.

      Hi Arjunsecondary, inner tire wear is mainly caused by cambers and alignment, usually caused by running over big potholes or rough speed bumps, also can be that your lca bushing is worn out or too soft, so if you're planning on replacing the bushing, i suggest getting after market, i don't know if energy suspension makes them for your is300 but worth finding out. Anything stiffer then stock bushing is good. 😁 No i haven't experienced any inner tire wear yet knock on wood lol. But i will change mine out soon. Also if you are experiencing inner tire wear or if you feel steering pull to one side, i suggest getting an alignment. Thanks for visiting the channel Arjun 👍🙂 and good luck. I 🍺

    What kind of tools would I need to change my break pads for my 2016 is200t fsport?

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Maria, just to change out the brake pads, you only need a flathead screwdriver and a small needle nose plyer to pull out the cotter pin that is use to lock the pin holding the shield. I show how i use the flathead screwdriver in the video to pry between the pad and the rotors to push in the piston, you would also need a vacuum hose with a soda bottle or any empty bottle like i use in the video You simply make a hole in the middle of the bottle cap and feed the hose through it till it reach the bottom of the bottle, fill the bottle 1/3 with brake fluid, this is use to do a one man brake bleeding after the brake pad had been installed and replaced. You can search one man brake bleeding on youtube and you will see what I mean, i would recommend this method instead of a two person brake bleeding. I will make a short video on this if you like. Hope this helps.

    How often do you have to change tires? I have had the xA and Highlander tires done in pairs at Sam’s club. Would the late model is 300 be ok also?

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi LthmcknDshwshr, again thank you for your comments :) to answer your question, this question really depends on how you drive and how often you drive the car, how far your commute, Most tires have a life span between 30,000 to 60,000 miles before they need to be replaced, usually the tire shop technician will tell you how many miles your tires are good for. Now with that said, I mentioned earlier, the way you drive is also a factor, if you drive normal, lets say going the speed limits. This will expand the life of your tires, meaning the tires will last 30,000 to 85,000 miles or even longer depending what tires you buy. Now if you're the type that races and do burn outs, this will decrease the life span of your tires even shorter and will wear out your tires faster then it is recommended. This goes for every cars not just lexus or Toyota. I always ask the technician, what's the life span of the tires, are they all season tires ect… Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

      This brake pad and rotor change does not apply to late model Lexus, as the brake setup are different, most late model vehicles have two 10mm to 14mm bolts that you have to remove in order to remove the calipers, usually this setup only requires only one bolt removed and just lift the caliper to remove the pads, to remove the rotors is the same with this procedure, just remove the 2 17mm bolts. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks again 😉

      Thanks. I’ve been told the summer tires that come from factory last only 15k miles if I’m lucky and to change it no matter what every 6 years.

      @@The_new_Lthrnckn yeah they tend to tell alot of that, don't believe every word they say. You know shops like that just trying to get your money lol, if they were good Technicians, they will be honest with you and will tell you, is how you drive your car, tire wear has many factors to them, most of the time are camber issues, your car being lowered if you're the type who likes to lower your car and have guy our wheels 45 degree smh 😂, it's also a good idea glance at your tires when doing oil change, since you'll be under the car, just take a glance at the inside corner of the tire. Thanks again. 👍

    Question why did you open brake oil cap when taking out brake pads thanks

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JohnyAragon, reason is to release any trapped air from the line when you apply pressure to the piston also easier to press in the piston to make room for new pads. Yes i know I can just release the nipple on the caliper, but easier and cleaner just remove the cap. You can release the bleed valve and connect a tube and run the tube into an empty bottle so oil will not spatter everywhere. Or just remove the oil reservoir cap, and any trapped air will push to the top. Hope this helps.

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pintobeangaming1620 Regardless, you will still need to bleed your brakes and refill the reservoir, so no difference. If you're concerned about air trapped in the line, I recommend bleeding all four brakes.

      @@DuBNeTiX do I need to bleed if I only change the brake pads ?? Or just let air out

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pintobeangaming1620 There are different method in brake bleeding, most common are single person gravity bleeding and manual bleeding where most of the time need two people, meaning you and another, one to pump the break pedal amount of time and the other to release and close the valve. Yes you need to bleed the brakes, if you don't, your brake pad will not grip to your rotors, therefore your brake will not function.
