      Kudos for the video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Parlandealey Vanish Ringworm Process (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for revealing how to repair your vehicle minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate at very last got astronomical success with it.

    Good video. One thing, changing the weight of oil from 0W20 to 5W30 is not a wise move. You can buy high milage oil in the same weight. It is simply a matter of different additives, detergents etc. The heavier oils sometimes have a different molecule size and will not lubricate the engine the same. In worst case scenarios it could cause premature wear. A Toyota/Lexus engine is not considered high milage at 80,00. I ran my 4 runner past 200k miles and never changed the type of oil I used at oil changes. at 210K i had to replace the timing chain tensioner as it was starting to make noise, but the engine had no other issues.

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi possumpopper89, thank you for your comment, yes I totally agree with you, 0w20 is the recommended oil weight for use on newer vehicle and it is better. Now the reason for me switching to 5w30 or 10w30 is not a matter of high mileage, its a matter of distance driving. Here in California the weather tends to get a little hot, and my commute everyday is driving 1:30 minute to work and 1 to 2 hours driving back home. Both these weight is considered low weight viscosity, with the weather here 5w or 10w is good enough for my use. Now if the weather is cold then yes I would be using 0w20, since both of these oil are on the low viscosity side I have no problem using 5 or 10w. 30 is the viscosity for temperature, detergent weight is a little heavy and this is fine for distance driving, this 30 weight also helps my fuel comsumption and mpg. I've been using 10w30 for my 2008 acura tsx, this car now has over 215,000 miles and not had any major maintenance, timing chain and tensioner is still original and has not had any valve lash adjustment yet. I am performing this valve adjustment soon. Back to the oil, I do change weight accoring to climate change, it is pretty obvious that the "w" stands for weather/winter, and the number at the end by itself is for temperature, long driving will break down the molecule and thin out the viscosity. Again thank you for visiting and i appreciate and respect your comments. thanks again.

      Good Money I have never used a soil but I have heard from several performance shop mechanics that they are one of the best companies out there for selecting additives for specific needs of an engine.

    • @possumpopper89
      @possumpopper89 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Money I run the same oil throughout the life of an engine. It’s something Inhave always done since my dad taught me that as a kid. He was a diesel mechanic and said the change of additives may cause leaks in older seals. When I buy a used car I try to find out what type of oil they used and use the same oil unless they were using garbage oil. I recently got a good used Jeep and I may try amsoil since the previous owner was using a low cost conventional oil and already had leaks. I am changing gaskets and will likely swap to synthetic.

      @@DuBNeTiX Those oils are no different. I don't know what makes you think they are. They both behave like SAE 30 oils at operating temperature. You may experience problems with the VVT system using a 10W oil.

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Tomasz, thank you for your comment, I totally agree with you, Amsoil is a very good oil to use, but for some people, this oil is very exspensive. Most people can't afford this oil, as well as royal purple. conventional oil is fine to use, as long as you change within the 3,000 miles or 3 month, which ever comes first. You can go 5,000 miles if you use full synthetic and 3,000 miles for non synthetic motor oil. Amsoil is good for gear such as using in your transmission as this will be worth the money, i use visconsity 10w 30 is because my car has now 75,000 miles, i drive 1hr 30min. commute to work every day, so if i keep using 0w 20 i will just burn oil, so i just decide to go with 10w 30.

    Hi! Thanks for the video! You lost me when you took off the nipple thing from the oil filter and then replaced it with a gasket. Is that piece part of the adapter to take the oil filter off?

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi CharlieDuran, Yes i replaced it with the old gasket after i removed the oil drain adaptor (nipple thing) ;). In the video I didn't show myself removing the cap with the 3/4" rachet attached with the 6" extension. Once the cap is removed, that orange O-ring gaset is in between the cap and the oil filter housing. The gasket comes with the oil filter when you buy the replacement filter from the auto part store, you get 1 big O-ring for the oil filter housing, 1 small O-ring to replace the one in between the cap as you saw in the video, and you get 1 white oil drain adaptor. Hope this helps, please like and subscribe. Thnks again visiting.

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi George, there's no particular name brand for this wrench, there are many styles, for you just have to buy the 64mm with 14 flutes side walls, I picked mine up at Autozone. No you can't use an Allen key to remove the filter oil drain cap as it is a 3/8" head with 4 sides, as the allen has 6 sides, and this will also need to be at least a 3 to 6" long. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting the channel.

    • @DuBNeTiX
      @DuBNeTiX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, the little stripping has to do with the way you insert the 3/8 extension and how it seats into the hole. If not seated all the way, it will slip and cause it to strip. So just make sure to seat it all the way in the hole, and use a long bar as leverage if needed.

Hope this answers your questions. Thank you for your support. Cheers :)

      @@Sounditoutahhwet There are 2 areas that you have to reset, 1 is in the steering odometer display, this will clear that reminder message, and the onscreen display monitor is used to reset your oil maintenance, this lexus normal oil change is 10,000 miles instead of the older makes where it's normal oil change is at 3000, most newer cars and trucks now and days, you can change your oil at 10k miles, even though you reset to 10,000 as mentioned in earlier message, the system will remind you, maintenance is required at 5000 or 6000 miles, that will tell you that you have another 5000 or 6000 miles to go given that you can drive your car up to 10k until an oil change is Seriously needed, if you want to do your maintenance at 10k, it's just a window slot. Not sure what I did to cause that but it definitely wasn’t doing that before I changed the oil. Can you think of any reason why it would do this or what I did wrong? I thought I put too much oil in so I redid the whole process but still unchanged. I’m taking it to the dealer tomorrow and they’re gonna check it out but I thought I’d ask you as well. @DuBNeTiX  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Barnes, first off, adding a little too much oil will not cause your car to jerk when putting car on reverse. There could be a few factors, 1) could be your transmission needing fluid and filter change, 2) spark plugs, 3) something with your fuel system, 4) bad vacuum regulator valve. Oil change is 100% not the cause of this. Unless you have not serviced or done tune up for years. But I'm pretty sure that's not the case.
