I'd like to point out that B Sanders was in his prime as well in 1993 and he wasn't leading the league in rushing despite playing in an offense that basically ran through him too. Sanders also had Pro Bowl players on his offensive line and played in an offense that pretty much ensured the opposing defense would be in Nickle and Dime coverage all the time thanks to the fact that Detroit had 4 WRs on the field most of the time in that Run N Shoot scheme. Emmitt got the big money before he put this season together. Where a lot of players would have phoned it in or not pushed as hard or sat out when injured after they got the big money Emmitt never did. For all the talk of how "anybody" could have generated those numbers behind that line NOBODY else ever did and it's pretty obvious that Jerry tried multiple times to find an alternative to Emmitt in an attempt to save a buck and keep winning without success. It blows my mind how disrespected Emmitt Smith has been since he left the game. NOBODY ever talked about Walter Payton or Jim Brown this way. Nobody sits around claiming Payton only got those numbers because the entire Chicago Bears offense was built around him and that Tony Dorsett could have caught him if Landry had limited his touches to keep his legs fresh. Nobody sits around talking about the inferior competition that Jim Brown faced in his prime or that Otto Graham drew a lot of focus from opposing defenses. Everybody loudly praises both of those guys and they absolutely should. Nobody suggest that some other player was a "better" running back than those two and IF ONLY some circumstance or another were different they would have never held the record. Only thing I can figure is that A.) people love to hate on Dallas no matter what the era and B.) Barry Sanders quitting early has caused people to endlessly speculate about whether he would have caught Emmitt or not. Well the second point is moot, Barry quit. He didn't ever try to make a come back with another team, he didn't get a trade worked like Eric Dickerson did. He just walked away. A lot of people want to argue about the greatness of Emmitt but I have yet to see somebody ever say that the man quit on his team and walked away when they started losing and not making Super Bowl runs.

I still think Emmitt was the greatest player ever, if the criteria is “can you impose your will to win on the game ?” He did that better than any other RB, and better than any player , imho. Yes , some QBs won more, but QBs can play 15-20 years. RBs can’t. For Emmitt to have THAT much of an impact on winning , as a RB, is beyond amazing
Barry had some spectacular runs that made your jaw drop then have 3 negative plays trying to break a long run, Emmitt would get 3 to 4 yards on most runs then break a long run Emmitt could also catch passes out of the back field and pass block Emmitt had a lot less negative plays than Barry

Barry was a human highlight reel probably one of the best pure runners to ever play in the league. But the same could be said of Gale Sayers and nobody is ever trying to argue that Gale Sayers was the best RB of all time. Most people don't even try to say he was the best RB the Bears ever had.
The 1992-1993 Dallas Cowboys remain the last NFC Team to win Back-to-Back Super Bowl's. The 1993 Giants vs Cowboys week 16 game is probably the greatest regular season game in Dallas Cowboys history. Emmitt's performance that day is the greatest player performance in Dallas Cowboys history.

As much as I am not alone in truly NOT appreciating what Jerry Jones "pissed" away with respects to the erosion of a phenomenal Jimmy Johnson Juggernaut of a professional football team, this game was special, as we all got to witness the HEART of a Lion that day in the Meadowlands. So when we learn later of what John Madden did, in addition to the fact that he would NEVER do it the remainder of his broadcasting career, you simply cannot help but to tip your hat to one of the best displays of true respect from one man to another. 🍻🙏🏻🍻

Absolutely the best individual season by a running back in league history for the reasons you list: Top rushing leader, regular season MVP, Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP. But also the intangibles - missing the first two games, coming back from a mini-slump to run the table on the last 5 games of the season including the epic 16-13 OT separated shoulder 42 touches for 224 yards win at the Giants to clinch home field in the playoffs. You cannot name another RB who ever had such a season, before or since.
I watched this game. As close as it was, the battle it was, Smith’s injury, I had no doubt they’d win the game. One of the greatest games I’ve watched in my 45 years as a Cowboys fan.

What is so unusual, too, to your point, was that the Eagles were the stingiest against the Run prior to the second game vs Dallas in 92. Emmitt never broke 100 vs them until that game and it’s like he did so in a way that was like Rocky drawing blood from Drago’s face. That Cowboys offense of the early ‘90s was a Swiss clock, a well oiled machine, whatever you wanna call it. I don’t think somebody could put together a more well-balanced machine like offense if they tried. It would just grind a defense down. The utter commitment to winning and the selflessness of the big three. Aikman and Irvin especially, they could’ve made a big deal about throwing the ball more, having bigger stats, but the guys just wanted to win.

The video didn't catch it but when Smith broke that run the world slowed down. You could see each stride accented with exploding water from when his cleats hit the turf. The fog added a surreal cloak to the moment as it all unfolded in a slow-motion roll that was somehow evident from the snap of the ball. Incredible moment. Thanks for the great memories! ... ps ... the NW game at the end of the season ... man .. you could / should do a video just on that. Electric. "He put the team on his back" cliche was never more evident ... the last play where he took it in for 6 for the W .... unbelievable feeling watching that moment. The way the team would rush to pick him up at the end of each play. He would switch and hold up his good arm to get lifted. He would sometimes use the bad arm to get to a thrown ball but immediately swap it to his good arm. Every pile-up Giants players were trying to rip on his bad shoulder. Old-school NFL and a true HOF moment.
I agree 93 was his greatest season, and one of the all time great seasons for any RB for reasons you expertly laid out. I remember thinking during that season that the way Jimmy Johnson was playing Emmett, and I know that he wasn't the offensive coordinator, but I believe he was showing the rest of the league how valuable he was. Numbers say a lot but unless you watch the games you don't realize how valuable Emmett was across the board. Running the ball, blocking and receiving he was elite. This season especially showed his value. And I'm sure part of that in my memory was the fact that he wasn't there for the first two games.
I could listen to this narrator all day. He knows when to speak, and when to let the visuals take over. His tone is steady. His economization of language adds much to the overall quality. Lastly, Emmitt Smith is the GOAT.
During his peak years of 1992 -1995 Emmitt averaged 4.7 yards a carry per rush. His backups, running behind that exact same offensive line, averaged 3.7 yards, a full yard less. I get tired of hearing people say Emmitts success was soley due to the offensive line, because it blatantly was not.
I remember that game in Philadelphia. It seems like Cowboys RBs have career games against the Eagles. The season of Emmitt Smith's that really got my attention was 1991, especially that game at Washington. That was when I knew we had to go the extra mile to keep him on the team.

Once again GREAT VIDEO!!!! The Smith holdout was one of our first clues of how big an idiot Jerry Jones could be. Smith had a monster 92 season that culminated in a SB victory and he didn't want to pay him. Fast forward thirty plus years and Jerry overpays players who haven't done anything. Smith wins you a rushing title, 1st team all pro and is a jkey part of one of the most dominant super bowl victories in history and he has to hold out.
Great video. I think Jimmy uses this as a blueprint from not only prolonging Emmitt’s career but also the dire need for a legitimate backup. I think Jimmy drafts Lamar Smith in 1994 because Lassic had already proven not to be a capable backup. Coleman had a few decent moments as a backup but it’s different when you’re THE GUY and not just a change of pace.(See Troy Hambrick) I also think Jimmy signs former Cowboy Mark Higgs in November when Emmitt’s hamstrings start acting up. Blair Thomas had a decent game at the end of the year but still should have been on the jets. 1999 was the last time I believed the Cowboys had any hope of a SB. Their off season additions had Promise. Too many of their players ended up injured or suspended. Remember that Minnesota game where Emmitt was gashing them with 140 yards and two TDs with 6 minutes to go in the first half? It looked like he was on his way to a 300 yard game at 30 years old. And he was doing it by himself. He ended up with 1400 yards despite playing most of the year WITHOUT Irvin and missing more than two and a half games. 99 was also the year Troy threw FIVE TDs on opening day. Emmitt took almost every snap in camp and the off season. I believe him resting in 93 kept him fresh for the year and caused his increase in YPC!! If Jimmy stays in 94 Dallas preserves Emmitt’s hamstrings and rolls San Fran again.
If you think these are good you should see what I did with every NFL team in 1995. I fixed every issue with every team using largely their own players and limited free agency. The NFL should have instituted a Larry Bird rule for free agency. I know I could have handed my rosters to any GM in the league and they would have been elated. I wanted to see every team at their best with their own players. Dallas was the cream of the crop back then. The greatest team in NFL history in the greatest era in NFL history. The 1990s were the greatest influx of talent in NFL history USFL, CFL and WLAF. Unfortunately by the end of the decade…really by 1995 free agency had stripped that depth away.
I have an Emmitt autographed football. It’s one of my most prized possessions. The 90s were the greatest era in NFL history. EVERY TEAM was packed with HOFers. Even Tampa had Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, and John Lynch in 1995.
Jones failure to have Smith signed to a contract by the start of the season was the beginning of the end for Jimmy Johnson. I believe Johnson got tired of Jerry's bungling by trying to be a GM when he didn't really understand the game nearly as well as he thought he did.

It was an ABSOLUTE TRAVESTY that Jerry didn’t even give Emmitt the chance to talk to Parcells. The first thing that popped in my mind when Parcells was hired was OJ Anderson. Parcells traded for him but he rode the pine for five years before Parcells put him in the lineup and he gained 1000 yards. Emmitt was stirs MUCH BETTER BACK than Anderson at that point. I GUARANTEE you Emmitt has 1200 yards in 2003 in Dallas. Only Jerry Jones blatant STUPIDITY cost Emmitt 15 straight 1000 yard seasons and 20,00 yards rushing. It was a total slap in the face to Emmitt. He said he would have taken a pay cut to stay. Troy Hambrick started running his mouth about how Emmitt was a “has been” because Hambrick did well as THE BACKUP!! It’s different when you’re THE GUY and defenses key on you every play. How did Hambrick do as the starter replacing Emmitt? Fewer yards with more carries!! If Emmitt was a has been Hambrick is a NEVER WAS!! The ultimate slap in the face to Emmitt was Parcells bringing in Adrian Murrell who HADNT PLAYED IN TWO YEARS!! In 2004 Fallas paid big bucks to Eddie George who totally busted in Dallas. Where did Hambrick end up in 2004 IN ARIZONA BEHIND EMMITT WHERE HE BELONGEd!!
Emmitt's 1995 season was also One for the Ages, but his Super Bowl performance makes it 3rd place behind 1993 and 1992. Emmitt's first carry in Super Bowl XXX went for 23 yards - and the rest of the game he rushed for 26 yards on 17 carries. Granted, two of those carries were for short TDs thanks to Larry Brown, but it was a very disappointing individual performance

In 1991 he became the first Dallas Cowboy to lead the league in rushing, and was a key part in helping the offense perform without Aikman for 6 weeks, including a playoff win. In 1992 he became the first player to win back-to-back rushing crowns since Eric Dickerson, set team records with 19 touchdowns and 2048 yards from scrimmage, placed 3rd in MVP and OPOY, had three straight playoff games with 100+ yards rushing and of course helped lead the team to their first Super Bowl. Both were Dream Seasons. 1995 was spectacular, what with his first carry of the season going for a 60 yard TD, leading the league in rushing and scoring a league record 25 touchdowns, but by then we almost expected stats like that from #22. Personally, I am partial to Emmitt's 1998 and 1999 regular seasons, when he came back from two down seasons at age 29-30 to perform strongly against the young bucks. GOAT!
Emmitt was on his way to 2000 yards in 95. Dallas had no threat on the other side of Irvin. Defenses began stacking the box on Emmitt and Dallas ran that hoss into the ground. It took Emmitt two years to recover from the beaing he took in 1995. He was on his way to 2000 11 games into the season.
I remember those years..tbh if I go back to the early to mid 90s Irvin wasnt near the best receiver..Aikman was accurate but he wasnt the best quarterback playing..those superbowls came from Emmitt and our O-line. Actually Irvin was the best in 1991. He finished top two in receiving yards in 1992 and 1993 and number four in 1995. Troy Aikman was the most accurate passer in NFL HISTORY as far as ball placement. It all started with Emmitt though. When Norv Turner arrived in 1991 he told Emmitt he would lead the league in rushing. He built the entire offense around Emmitt. I think it was the most perfectly balanced offense in NFL history. Only Jerry Jones stupidity kept it from reaching its full potential.

Don Shula missed out in having Emmitt in his prime. Emmitt wanted to sign with Miami and Shula didn’t want him. The NFC also had the chance to brake up the dynasty by signing Emmitt. Fortunately no team try signing him. There might of been some collusion going on. NFL owners wanted to keep contracts as low as possible.
Yeah, I remember Shula cancelling the meeting with Emmitt because he felt like it would be a waste of time. He figured whatever the Dolphins offered Emmitt, Jerry would just match it.

I don’t know man, other than your confusing comments that you would make on highlighted clips that you edited, the content of the video was great! Examples on the giants game you stated that the cowboys strength was running down the middle but then the very first play you showed, Emmitt gets stop for no gain. Later clips you can see Emmitt owning the giants but that first one was confusing. Then you talked about how the eagles were being dumb by not respecting the run but then you show an incomplete pass to Jay and the commentator talks about how good and aggressive the eagles secondary defense is playing. Those are a few examples and the only reason I took the time to explain all this because your editing, your awesome narrating voice and your over content is FREAKING amazing! So, before showing any highlights, I emphasized this point by saying, 'When I tell you this was a man's game in the trenches, believe me, it was.' I didn't want to be biased towards Emmitt Smith and only show his successful moments. I wanted to show that it was a tough battle down in the trenches. To illustrate this, I first showed Smith being stopped by the Giants. Then, I continued to showcase how Smith successfully dismantled the Giants front 7 in subsequent highlights. Regarding the Jay Novacek clip, it seems there may have been a misunderstanding. Interestingly, you actually explained it in your post. I included that clip to demonstrate how the Eagles focused on defending against the pass rather than the run. I supported my statement by showing that Novacek clip. I'm not sure why this was confusing?

The things people should notice in this video are 1) the part where Jerry is telling Mike Dikta that Lincoln Coleman is comparable to Emmitt at 2% of the pay, and 2) that Jerry refused to pay Emmitt market value for the first two games (had Dallas won those games , Emmitt might never have come back). Now, realize that the 93 season was BEFORE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SALARY CAP ! Meaning , Jerry was just being greedy and cheap. Here he had a defending Super Bowl champion team , with the best rusher in the NFL, and he did not value it more than his greed . There was no salary cap, and yet he still would not pay Emmitt, and he still did not appreciate him . Jerry was self destructive then , when he had maybe the greatest team ever. The 93 team was essentially that same team - still incredibly young and still one of the lowest paid teams in the league. Let‘s let it sink in that Jerry’s greed could not be happy enough simply having one of the lowest paid teams in the league. He had to be even greedier and try to not pay Emmitt, and then try to go cheap with Lincoln Coleman. Jerry was so greedy that he actually put the team’s chances of winning the Super Bowl at risk by refusing to pay Emmitt, and letting the season go two games before paying him what he was obviously worth . And Jerry put the team’s chances in jeopardy EVEN THOUGH HE STILL HAD ONE OF THE LOWEST PAID TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE !!! He truly showed that his priority was not winning . His top priority was paying the players as little as possible. That mattered most to him. That is why he lead the charge for a salary cap, and got that put in the next year. This resulted in losing Ken Norton , and other good players . But the cap allowed cheap Jerry to say “Sorry , I can’t pay you because there is a salary cap”. When Jerry got a salary cap put into the NFL , and got rid of Jimmy Johnson (both things were accomplished in the offseason after the 1993 season ) he sealed his doom. From then on, when it comes to building a championship team, he would never have a financial advantage over other teams , and he would never have a talent evaluation advantage (which he had with Jimmy Johnson) over other teams. This was the absolute offseason of doom for the future of Dallas. Yes, they won one more title due to the greatness Jimmy had built. But from then on it was to forever be a situation where Jerry’s evaluation of talent can’t beat the rest of the league, and he would not be able to just outspend the league (because of the cap he had made sure the league adopted). Absolute doom for the future of the team.

Hey bro you should make a video on Tony Romo during Dak’s rookie year. Romo came back from injury and didn’t put much of a fight to get his job back. Yeah the team was winning games but that was the best team Romo was on. Cowboys owed it to Romo and Romo had some unfinished business. Romo could run the Cowboys complete offense and Dak was limited on what plays he could run. I was disappointed with Romo’s competitive fire. I bet you Brady would of not put up with that. Smith was a holdout when it came to signing the contract that Jones wanted to offer him. Smith wanted to have the highest-paying contract in football for a running back. However, Jones disagreed and offered him a lesser contract. Consequently, Smith refused to accept it and held out for 50 or 60 days.
Before Larry Allen was drafted to the Cowboys, Smith was the rookie of the year, had 3 rushing titles, and was league MVP. In fact, this video was about Smith's 1993 season. Larry Allen was still in college. So much for that. Lol
I believe this is the cause behind Jerry not wanting to pay players. Magically guys been getting hurt after they become highest paid. It’s starting to look like Jerry is sabotaging his players and team out of pride. He always claims they don’t need a player because the line is so good anyone can run through it. He is always wrong.
I'd like to point out that B Sanders was in his prime as well in 1993 and he wasn't leading the league in rushing despite playing in an offense that basically ran through him too. Sanders also had Pro Bowl players on his offensive line and played in an offense that pretty much ensured the opposing defense would be in Nickle and Dime coverage all the time thanks to the fact that Detroit had 4 WRs on the field most of the time in that Run N Shoot scheme.
Emmitt got the big money before he put this season together. Where a lot of players would have phoned it in or not pushed as hard or sat out when injured after they got the big money Emmitt never did. For all the talk of how "anybody" could have generated those numbers behind that line NOBODY else ever did and it's pretty obvious that Jerry tried multiple times to find an alternative to Emmitt in an attempt to save a buck and keep winning without success.
It blows my mind how disrespected Emmitt Smith has been since he left the game. NOBODY ever talked about Walter Payton or Jim Brown this way. Nobody sits around claiming Payton only got those numbers because the entire Chicago Bears offense was built around him and that Tony Dorsett could have caught him if Landry had limited his touches to keep his legs fresh. Nobody sits around talking about the inferior competition that Jim Brown faced in his prime or that Otto Graham drew a lot of focus from opposing defenses. Everybody loudly praises both of those guys and they absolutely should. Nobody suggest that some other player was a "better" running back than those two and IF ONLY some circumstance or another were different they would have never held the record.
Only thing I can figure is that A.) people love to hate on Dallas no matter what the era and B.) Barry Sanders quitting early has caused people to endlessly speculate about whether he would have caught Emmitt or not. Well the second point is moot, Barry quit. He didn't ever try to make a come back with another team, he didn't get a trade worked like Eric Dickerson did. He just walked away. A lot of people want to argue about the greatness of Emmitt but I have yet to see somebody ever say that the man quit on his team and walked away when they started losing and not making Super Bowl runs.

Barry was a human highlight reel probably one of the best pure runners to ever play in the league. I don’t think somebody could put together a more well-balanced machine like offense if they tried. It would just grind a defense down. The video didn't catch it but when Smith broke that run the world slowed down. You could see each stride accented with exploding water from when his cleats hit the turf. The fog added a surreal cloak to the moment as it all unfolded in a slow-motion roll that was somehow evident from the snap of the ball. Incredible moment. Thanks for the great memories! ... ps ... the NW game at the end of the season ... man .. you could / should do a video just on that. Electric. "He put the team on his back" cliche was never more evident ... the last play where he took it in for 6 for the W .... unbelievable feeling watching that moment. The way the team would rush to pick him up at the end of each play. He would switch and hold up his good arm to get lifted. He would sometimes use the bad arm to get to a thrown ball but immediately swap it to his good arm. Every pile-up Giants players were trying to rip on his bad shoulder. Old-school NFL and a true HOF moment.

I remember thinking during that season that the way Jimmy Johnson was playing Emmett, and I know that he wasn't the offensive coordinator, but I believe he was showing the rest of the league how valuable he was. Numbers say a lot but unless you watch the games you don't realize how valuable Emmett was across the board. Running the ball, blocking and receiving he was elite. This season especially showed his value. And I'm sure part of that in my memory was the fact that he wasn't there for the first two games.

Smith had a monster 92 season that culminated in a SB victory and he didn't want to pay him. Fast forward thirty plus years and Jerry overpays players who haven't done anything. Great video. I think Jimmy uses this as a blueprint from not only prolonging Emmitt’s career but also the dire need for a legitimate backup. I think Jimmy drafts Lamar Smith in 1994 because Lassic had already proven not to be a capable backup. Coleman had a few decent moments as a backup but it’s different when you’re THE GUY and not just a change of pace.(See Troy Hambrick) I also think Jimmy signs former Cowboy Mark Higgs in November when Emmitt’s hamstrings start acting up. Blair Thomas had a decent game at the end of the year but still should have been on the jets. 1999 was the last time I believed the Cowboys had any hope of a SB. Their off season additions had Promise. Too many of their players ended up injured or suspended. Remember that Minnesota game where Emmitt was gashing them with 140 yards and two TDs with 6 minutes to go in the first half? It looked like he was on his way to a 300 yard game at 30 years old. And he was doing it by himself. He ended up with 1400 yards despite playing most of the year WITHOUT Irvin and missing more than two and a half games. 99 was also the year Troy threw FIVE TDs on opening day. Emmitt took almost every snap in camp and the off season. I believe him resting in 93 kept him fresh for the year and caused his increase in YPC!! If Jimmy stays in 94 Dallas preserves Emmitt’s hamstrings and rolls San Fran again.

If you think these are good you should see what I did with every NFL team in 1995. I fixed every issue with every team using largely their own players and limited free agency. The NFL should have instituted a Larry Bird rule for free agency. I know I could have handed my rosters to any GM in the league and they would have been elated. I wanted to see every team at their best with their own players. Dallas was the cream of the crop back then. The greatest team in NFL history in the greatest era in NFL history. The 1990s were the greatest influx of talent in NFL history USFL, CFL and WLAF. Unfortunately by the end of the decade…really by 1995 free agency had stripped that depth away.

I called Jerry Jones and left him a voicemail and told him he needed to pull his head out of his butt and pay the man what he was worth, and sure enough Emmett came on board.

It was an ABSOLUTE TRAVESTY that Jerry didn’t even give Emmitt the chance to talk to Parcells. The first thing that popped in my mind when Parcells was hired was OJ Anderson. Parcells traded for him but he rode the pine for five years before Parcells put him in the lineup and he gained 1000 yards. Emmitt was stirs MUCH BETTER BACK than Anderson at that point. I GUARANTEE you Emmitt has 1200 yards in 2003 in Dallas. Only Jerry Jones blatant STUPIDITY cost Emmitt 15 straight 1000 yard seasons and 20,00 yards rushing. It was a total slap in the face to Emmitt. He said he would have taken a pay cut to stay. Troy Hambrick started running his mouth about how Emmitt was a “has been” because Hambrick did well as THE BACKUP!! It’s different when you’re THE GUY and defenses key on you every play. How did Hambrick do as the starter replacing Emmitt? Fewer yards with more carries!! If Emmitt was a has been Hambrick is a NEVER WAS!! The ultimate slap in the face to Emmitt was Parcells bringing in Adrian Murrell who HADNT PLAYED IN TWO YEARS!! In 2004 Fallas paid big bucks to Eddie George who totally busted in Dallas. Where did Hambrick end up in 2004 IN ARIZONA BEHIND EMMITT WHERE HE BELONGEd!!

In 1991 he became the first Dallas Cowboy to lead the league in rushing, and was a key part in helping the offense perform without Aikman for 6 weeks, including a playoff win. In 1992 he became the first player to win back-to-back rushing crowns since Eric Dickerson, set team records with 19 touchdowns and 2048 yards from scrimmage, placed 3rd in MVP and OPOY, had three straight playoff games with 100+ yards rushing and of course helped lead the team to their first Super Bowl. Both were Dream Seasons. 1995 was spectacular, what with his first carry of the season going for a 60 yard TD, leading the league in rushing and scoring a league record 25 touchdowns, but by then we almost expected stats like that from #22. Personally, I am partial to Emmitt's 1998 and 1999 regular seasons, when he came back from two down seasons at age 29-30 to perform strongly against the young bucks. GOAT!

Emmitt was on his way to 2000 yards in 95. Dallas had no threat on the other side of Irvin. Defenses began stacking the box on Emmitt and Dallas ran that hoss into the ground. It took Emmitt two years to recover from the beaing he took in 1995. He was on his way to 2000 11 games into the season.

Actually Irvin was the best in 1991. He finished top two in receiving yards in 1992 and 1993 and number four in 1995. Troy Aikman was the most accurate passer in NFL HISTORY as far as ball placement. It all started with Emmitt though. When Norv Turner arrived in 1991 he told Emmitt he would lead the league in rushing. He built the entire offense around Emmitt. I think it was the most perfectly balanced offense in NFL history. Only Jerry Jones stupidity kept it from reaching its full potential.

I don’t know man, other than your confusing comments that you would make on highlighted clips that you edited, the content of the video was great! Examples on the giants game you stated that the cowboys strength was running down the middle but then the very first play you showed, Emmitt gets stop for no gain. Later clips you can see Emmitt owning the giants but that first one was confusing. Then you talked about how the eagles were being dumb by not respecting the run but then you show an incomplete pass to Jay and the commentator talks about how good and aggressive the eagles secondary defense is playing. Regarding that Giants game. I wanted to make it clear that this game was dominated in the trenches. So, before showing any highlights, I emphasized this point by saying, 'When I tell you this was a man's game in the trenches, believe me, it was.' I didn't want to be biased towards Emmitt Smith and only show his successful moments. I wanted to show that it was a tough battle down in the trenches. To illustrate this, I first showed Smith being stopped by the Giants. Then, I continued to showcase how Smith successfully dismantled the Giants front 7 in subsequent highlights.
Regarding the Jay Novacek clip, it seems there may have been a misunderstanding. Interestingly, you actually explained it in your post. I included that clip to demonstrate how the Eagles focused on defending against the pass rather than the run. I supported my statement by showing that Novacek clip. I'm not sure why this was confusing?

The things people should notice in this video are 1) the part where Jerry is telling Mike Dikta that Lincoln Coleman is comparable to Emmitt at 2% of the pay, and 2) that Jerry refused to pay Emmitt market value for the first two games (had Dallas won those games , Emmitt might never have come back). Now, realize that the 93 season was BEFORE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SALARY CAP ! Meaning , Jerry was just being greedy and cheap. Here he had a defending Super Bowl champion team , with the best rusher in the NFL, and he did not value it more than his greed . There was no salary cap, and yet he still would not pay Emmitt, and he still did not appreciate him . Jerry was self destructive then , when he had maybe the greatest team ever. Think how destructive he is now. And remember, 2 months after this season , Jerry gets rid of Jimmy Johnson.

The 93 team was essentially that same team - still incredibly young and still one of the lowest paid teams in the league. Let‘s let it sink in that Jerry’s greed could not be happy enough simply having one of the lowest paid teams in the league. He had to be even greedier and try to not pay Emmitt, and then try to go cheap with Lincoln Coleman. Jerry was so greedy that he actually put the team’s chances of winning the Super Bowl at risk by refusing to pay Emmitt, and letting the season go two games before paying him what he was obviously worth . And Jerry put the team’s chances in jeopardy EVEN THOUGH HE STILL HAD ONE OF THE LOWEST PAID TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE !!! He truly showed that his priority was not winning . His top priority was paying the players as little as possible. That mattered most to him. That is why he lead the charge for a salary cap, and got that put in the next year. This resulted in losing Ken Norton , and other good players . But the cap allowed cheap Jerry to say “Sorry , I can’t pay you because there is a salary cap”. When Jerry got a salary cap put into the NFL , and got rid of Jimmy Johnson (both things were accomplished in the offseason after the 1993 season ) he sealed his doom. From then on, when it comes to building a championship team, he would never have a financial advantage over other teams , and he would never have a talent evaluation advantage (which he had with Jimmy Johnson) over other teams. This was the absolute offseason of doom for the future of Dallas. Yes, they won one more title due to the greatness Jimmy had built. But from then on it was to forever be a situation where Jerry’s evaluation of talent can’t beat the rest of the league, and he would not be able to just outspend the league (because of the cap he had made sure the league adopted). Absolute doom for the future of the team.

I thought “way to go Jerry ! You just cheapskated your way into losing several very key players . If championships meant more to you than even more money that you will never be able to spend , you would not have done this. “ It was a sudden mass exodus of talent that Jimmy had evaluated and Jerry had underpaid . Jerry’s greed was just the wrecking ball to that team, and it still is. And it always will be as long as there is the salary cap he had implemented, and as long as he is in charge of picking talent

Hey bro you should make a video on Tony Romo during Dak’s rookie year. Romo came back from injury and didn’t put much of a fight to get his job back. Yeah the team was winning games but that was the best team Romo was on. Cowboys owed it to Romo and Romo had some unfinished business. Romo could run the Cowboys complete offense and Dak was limited on what plays he could run. I was disappointed with Romo’s competitive fire. I bet you Brady would of not put up with that.
