Thank you. Many people don't see the Great Divide connection. But I'm with you. This show is like a taxidermy of a pet. "See honey? Rover is back!... why... why are you crying?..."
I think the elemntal themes for the episode introductions are based on the location/nation the episode mainly takes place in, so when they are in the earth kindom we get the earth themed intro and when they are at the northern water tribe we get the water themed intro. And the air themed intro is probably because that was the only episode with any real air nomad focus. I could be wrong tho.
Subbed, all they had to do, was follow the storyline from the OG series, they could change how the characters get to their destination, character growth etc, but not the end results of it, they could've put 3 episodes of the OG series in each of the Netflix episodes and it'd total out to the same length, they were lazy, and just didn't care about being true to the spirit of the show, Azula is supposed to be extremely intelligent, the best of anyone else who comes up against her, witty, fierce, competent, terrifying, yet calm and collected, and extremely good in hand to hand combat, as well as tactical planning, my favorite antagonist next to Ozai in the series and this show ruined her. 😞
I've seen many of this bandwagon hate around the Internet like this and these thumbnails Clickbaits. But honestly, this adaptation ain't that Good nor Bad, and many people also agreed to that.
I'm just really tired of business interests rehashing beloved stories into formats (both visual and lengthwise, I think you're right on target here, this show wasn't meant for 1hr episodes) that hamstring what we loved about those stories. It's like taking ingredients out of a BLT sandwich and still calling it a BLT. It might still be good, but a BLT it is not.
That's the BEST Avatar so far! The story is just perfect, very similar to the cartoon! The casting is great, although too many asians LOL but that's fine cause they're hot. The fights are the most impressive I've seen, better than the cartoon. Netflix did a GREAT job! Subscribed just to watch this show and I'm VERY happy I did it!
My family and I couldn't get through the first episode. It was bad. Just a bunch of diversity hires with no talent. The acting and dialogue were horrible. Not a single character in the entire episode was interesting.
This is the most in depth takedown I've seen and it's passionate and accurate, except for the casting of Zuko. The actor looks nothing like Zuko, I was severely disappointed in the performance and Dallas being picked. He simply does not have the physical features to match up Zuko, who was portrayed as a byronic Adonis. Dallas's face is too fat and round, his eyes are too ethnic. Original Zuko looked slightly western with a sharp chin. Not to mention all of the other miscastings.
So i watched it. Theu skip through the majority of episodes in between traveling theough the nations. Thw writing wasnt the worst. It was a failed try by directprs who didnt watch the show. The bending was not tied to specific fighting styles like in animated show. Alot of the lines were cringe. Aang wasnt that bad. Katara learned to bend in a disappointing way. Zuko wasnt very strong. Azula, li me, amd goth girl were all overwieght. Ba sing say was far too small.

Good analysis (as always). There are so many of these reviews around at the moment, but I hope it gets a decent number of views.

Have you considered comparing the adaptations of "Mo Dao Zu Shi"?

@quandovoceleroscomentarios9622 if you have seen the original you are not missing out.
@@quandovoceleroscomentarios9622I would reserve the word awesome for shows MUCH more competent and well written than this.

whats wrong with too many Asians?
are you racist?
entire show is based on Asian cultures, so its kinda expected that the casting would reflect this

What show were you watching?? Jesus i swear 🙄
It’s literally not that bad its good, people are just bunch of sheeps who jumps on any bandwagon to hate something thats acceptable.
If you can't accept people have different views to you that is not healthy.
Yea the show is very blah unfortunately
