This is honestly one of the best tutorials of any kind! The thought of making a website was daunting to me, but you made the process easy, and I had fun doing it. There usually comes a point in many tutorials when I get lost and stop understanding what is being talked about, but I didn't experience this with your video. Congrats :)

You said about credit card payment, what about other payment option like debit card, online pay,cash on delivery., is it similar or different??
@@johnam448 Hey John sorry for the late reply, TH-cam doesn't notify me of comment replies, only new comments. So I only see it now. Debit cards will work just like credit cards. For online payment options you can find a plugin that integrates it. And for cash on delivery, that works by default and is super easy to configure with WooCommerce like we do in this video :) good luck!!

This was a GREAT tutorial. I followed all the steps and just finished and I have the exact web site as the tutorial site shown here. I love the way you don''t waste any time, you just keep smoothly moving clearly from step to step. I did experience a little difficulty setting up the stripe links, but got it done. Reason for difficulty is that I was doing this tutorial in May of 2023 and some of the click points on the stripe site have changed slightly, but with persistence I was able to get through it and do a test order and a live order that I will know if the connect/processing all the way through to my account is working by tomorrow. Thanks much for this. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone that wants to create an eCommerce site.

BY FAR - The best tutorial on the net for building a word press website! i wouldn't have passed part of my collage course if it wasn't for this! I hardly ever even leave a review on most youtube videos. but on this i felt it would be rude not to! very fast and very well presented in a short space of time, there is no messing with this tutorial it gets straight to what you need to know and will definitely be watched again! This is a really good tutorial on creating a basic e-commerce site. Thank you. I learned a whole lot. I would also like to see a tutorial on creating some more advanced features such client account login, creating a client wish list, how to create configuration options for a product, eg a computer, choose processor, memory, HDD etc. Thank you again for creating this awesome tutorial.
Hello! Yes, the purpose of this video is to create a gorgeous basic e-commerce shop, otherwise it would be way too long if we added all of the other stuff :) maybe we'll do an "Advanced" version in the future and explore how to add these options.
In the meantime you can achieve everything you listed here with additional plugins. All you'd have to do is research "woocommerce plugin wish list" and others and there are plenty of great options available!

Hi Tylor! Great videos! Really appreciate the step-by-step approach! If I have a product, like a self-published book, that's being sold on Amazon and I want to feature and sell it on my website, how would I set that up? You skipped over this part (for time sake I can understand) but there was an option named Linked Products and I wondered if that would be the way to link buyers to Amazon's purchasing page? If not, how do I have a product featured on my website store but linked to Amazon for fulfillment?
Hey Melissa, if you don't want to sell it directly on your website (but rather simply link to it and send visitors to buy it), then you can simply include an image of the book on your site, and link that image to the Amazon page. That way when they click that image (or a text link you make), they will go to Amazon and will be able to buy it. Hope this makes sense!
As always, excellent work Tyler. I do have a question, is this a feasible option for independent artists/freelancers to have for a shop/portfolio site or do you recommend keeping the two separate?
extended question.. could. use this as an online store to sell digital downloads? Similar to how people sell them on etsy, only this would be my own store/website? would I need a specific plugin for digital downloads as products?
Yes, you can make it all in one, I like focusing on just one website. Yes you can have digital downloads, I touch on it briefly in the tutorial.

I'm so glad I found your video and I will be subscribing and checking out some of your others after I get my website built. This is exactly the format I wanted, Simple and to the Point. I will be getting rid of a "theme purchase" which is no longer needed. OMG... this video was literally amazing and helped me so much!!! I have spent the past 4 days trying to creat a website and they all looked trash, like the one you posted at the start. I t took me about 6 hours but I didi keep messing upo and having to stop the video but WOW this was so helpful!!
