Summer Game Fest is the surest way that I will not pay attention. No way I'm going to bother looking up what is going to be on and when it's going to be on. Put it all together in one easy place, or forget it. I had no expectations for E3, so I was never disappointed. Maybe stop having expectations?
I feel like the only real "gamers" that are left are people that played the 2000s and early 2010s games and now havent played games in months or years. Like those people were the ones that paid attention to E3 and stuff and watching "gaming journalism" but we havent had any new good games in years with only a few exceptions

The issue with shadow dropping titles is often companies want to raise their valuation in the eyes of potential shareholders, so it benefits them at times to announce it earlier so long as its not too early

I don't need it to have a physical presence, or celebrities or fucking esports teams.
