    G'day Budget 4x4,
    I noticed my brakes making an unusual noise the other day and it prompted me to research how hard it would be to change the brake pads. Your video was the first result. You make it look easy, even for a novice like me. I have an NT Pajero, what model is yours?
    I have changed pads in another car once before but I needed G clamps to force the piston back on that car. I am not sure if the pads need changing on the Pajero as I haven't inspected them yet, but if you still haven't given the Bendix pads away, I would like to be considered, please.

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shane 👋🏻
      Yes it is really simple. If you have a bit of muscle...pushing the pistons back is no worries. Get yourself some Bendix pads they are a good upgrade🙂💯

      @@budget4x4life I checked out the noise and the brake pads did need replacing. I followed your advice and bought some bendix 4wd pads. I have only replaced the front ones so far. It was easier than I expected. I will replace the rear pads in the coming months.
      Do you know the minimum thickness for the discs? I am wondering if I should replace those as well.

      @ShaneM-cu1gr great stuff. I am doing the rear soon and will video it. Rotors are done when they start having grooves in them...like a darker shade grey and not smooth anymore. 🙂

    Been enjoying watching some of your other vids - keep them coming! A few suggestions. Give you slider pins a clean and light sand (if required) and coat with silicone grease or rubber grease (normal grease will deteriorate the boots) been reinstalling. Also clamp your brake line and crack open your bleeder screw when pushing back the pistons. This will purge out old potentially burnt fluid in the calliper. Also there is a small risk of damaging your ABS system by pushing fluid back up into your master cylinder. Other than that good job! I did my first brake pad change and brake fluid flush on my LWB a few months back.

    • @DC_888
      @DC_888 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fyst4413 I think copper grease is more to stop seizing rather than lubrication. Plus you need a rubber safe lubricant which won't deteriorate the rubber boots. My go to is silicone grease otherwise rubber specific grease!
