Get me out of here. I need to get out of the city. So I headed out to Snoqualmie Falls. It’s a short 30 miles drive from Seattle. And the falls are well known from appearing in the tv show Twin Peaks. There’s a lot going on at Snoqualmie Falls. There are hiking trails, swimming and fishing areas. As well as a Fish Hatchery and a Hydro Electric Power Plant.

My name is Scott and in 2015, I bought a Ram ProMaster City to live in. Even though I didn’t know much about RV’s and campervans, I set about building the van out as a minivan camper. And in April of 2016, I moved into my minivan full time.
Over the years, I’ve learned you don’t need to have a big skill set to build your own campervan. And that living as a minimalist and utilizing solar power can be a less expensive way to live. I’ve also learned that a minivan can be a very comfortable home.

On another note about dates. Open them before eating because they can have larvae and eggs. Don’t know about the organic ones and having that problem. Just a precaution. I understand that figs may also have dead wasps in them. If anything, soak all berries in salt water because they tend to also have larvae. Hey the future of our protein seems to be going that way. It’s been a few years since I’ve had either, but dates remind me of the fig in Fig Newtons. I love both of them, so I think if anyone likes fig newtons they would like dates😄
If the mass of actuations tend to happen around that time of day, maybe people are heading home for dinner? Assuming they are day trippers, they likely don’t have an onboard kitchen 🙂

Meteorologists and politicians fall in the same category most of the time. Nice fresh air, if you were in Truckee you'd be choking, we've had a fire 30 miles west of tahoe for a week now giving us unhealthy air. I love dates. 😋

Beautiful place to "Bide a wee" and just enjoy life. In fact, if you hiked further in as close to the falls as you can get, you would have been where me and my lovely wife, The Kelliator, had our first date right about today 22 years ago. In all this time, we have been to the Lodge a couple times but haven't hiked back down to the place where it all Bagan. Obviously we both enjoyed today's video. Take care. PS: beware there is a very convincing phasing scam for creators someone posing as TH-cam issuing a copyright strike but to see it, you need to download a .ZIP file. Don't do it.

I thought it was weird that in Twin Peaks the population sign said 51,201 residents. It’s definitely not that big of a town! I looked it up and apparently it was supposed to be 5,120, but ABC executives worried that a show set in a rural area wouldn’t attract viewers. Weird piece of TV trivia I guess 😂

This video made me like you even more! I watch the short ads now because I know it helps and it makes me feel good to make a comoany pay you for menwatching it. Lol But I got rid of cable over 20 years ago because I despise commercials. It's greed. If the product is good, you shouldn't need a commercial to sell more of it. Anyway, I could go on and on but I will spare you. Good for you not allowing them to pressure you into it because of money. I can only imagine what my response would have been to one that only wanted me to say good things in a review. Lol I have zero tolerance for nonsense nowadays. Honesty is always best. Even if you have a bad product a good review could get your product on the right track.

Beautiful aewa. Just wondering why you would not charge your back up battery while driving to and from this place? Does it not have an adapter that you can plug into the dash of van? Safe travels🇨🇦

    • @StaticCamperVan

I do keep the battery plugged in when I drive. But I normally drive less than five miles a day. With that amount of driving, it never gets a full charge.

Surprised you're not doing more travel charging with your devices Scott especially the Rockpals? Those 30+ minute trips can really add up over time not making you have to use solar so frequently now.

Now that you mention it, I do recall the line. I have an old video where I walked by the cafe that is featured in the series. I’m guessing that is where the fine coffee is.

Darn it, Scott…you got me to break my silence already! 😅😉 I had to ask why you don’t like drones? I’ve never owned one and I don’t really have any opinion of them myself. I tried to wrack my brain as to why someone wouldn’t like them and I couldn’t think of a reason; except that maybe you had a bad experience with one or something? Or do you see it as an invasion of privacy? Also, since I’m already commenting…that waterfall was so cool! It looks like an elongated heart, with the two separate streams coming together into one. Thanks for sharing, as always! I’m going to try to be quiet again now. 🤐

It’s mostly the noise that a drone makes. The noise is annoying and scares away any birds and wildlife. I also don’t like how invasive they are. I had a weird experience with one a while back in Prescott.
      Please don’t be quiet.

My ex was a HUGE fan of Twin Peaks, so on our trip to the PNW we made certain to go to Snoqualmie. They happened to be filming the movie at the time. As we stood down the street from the set, a woman approached and asked if we had a cell phone (back in the days when they were more rare). We did and she made a short call. She thanked us, and as she left my ex realized, "Hey, that was 'The Log Lady!'" The whole creepy vibe of Twin Peaks affected my ex. We camped in the area and she was freaked out by a group of men camped in another part of the campground. She had convinced herself they were up to no good. They were harmless.

Curious, do you have your onboard power wired so that it gets charged from your alternator when driving? I am sure you have stated this before but I just don't remember, also I understand the way people judge dates by the look, they are the same way toward Prunes (which I like a lot) any fruit or natures candy is always better than for you than processed "candy"

A review was *solicited* from me on a recent order with a company I regularly purchase from, and I’ve spent twenty minutes tonight getting frustrated with their computer system telling me to remove the emojis from the text, when there weren’t any in it. In addition, I removed all punctuation, but finally gave up on my five-out-of-five-star review, and was able to leave a comment with customer service about it, at least. Seems strange that they would *solicit* reviews and then *refuse to accept them* when they’re not even derogatory (though rejection for that wouldn’t be exactly respectable, either IMO!). Different kind of review than what you were discussing, but I thought it would still be on topic, potentially helpful, and maybe even entertaining or validating to read. Gotta get out of the noise and other forms of pollution once in a while, eh? I moved to the country because of the city buzz, so I understand you on that one. Take good care and Happy Travels! ☮️❤️🐾
