    Excellent work. I’m delighted to see you kept the brown colour! An excellent choice, and almost as good as Tundra green, my personal favourite

    The dreaded oversills!!
    Love the car up on its side supported by wood! I’ve been thinking about the best way to do that! Haha
    Do love that colour!

      William Murfitt 1:38 looks like oversills to me? Can’t see any vents

    Nice restoration bro how much was the cost of the full restoration?

      Hey, thanks very much. Being completely honest it was done on a shoestring budget and it was around £2,000 this was around 10 years again now so parts prices etc have increased since. But for my first build I'm really proud of what I achieved

    Nice end result but personally I would have done some things differently and fitted original vented sills rather the oversills and replace the whole section of the floor rather than part for peace of mind

    • @WilliamMurfitt
      @WilliamMurfitt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Original sills were fitted not oversills. And on reflection i would/should have installed the full floor panels. 2nd person to mention oversills though. I can assure you they are vented

    Nice one. How long it it take?

    • @WilliamMurfitt
      @WilliamMurfitt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      it took a couple of years from start to finish of the build. on and off. I started this while i was an apprentice and finished it off once i moved from working in the garage.
      i've started the build again and sorting some of the bits i missed or rushed first time round, hopefully in time for IMM. please check out my other videos. thanks very much

    How the hell did get that for £150 , I had to pay £2,400 for my mini and wasn't much better , the guy had hidden all the rust with filler and obs paid a mot guy extra to pass it.

      This was a number of years ago, prices have sky rocketed since - but with that said I had to drive an hour to collect from Portsmouth, and the guy was going to get it crushed if it didn't sell! i will be sure to avoid this chap. I've always gone with the approach of if your going to do that you may as well just cut and weld as it's going to take just as long! The prices of mini's at the moment are scary... this has probably led to the increase in thefts too :( i had a mini 25 that i swapped for a twin DTM exhaust too but that was beyond repair :(

    Hi William i have a 1275GT and would like both subframes renovating, there just a bit scabby, how much you reckon it will cost? Seen you do it in one of your videos.

    • @WilliamMurfitt
      @WilliamMurfitt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      full strip and replacement of bushes and bearings you are looking around £200 per subframe, the biggest cost with with regards to the replacement suspension cones (donuts) as they are expensive. the other items are pretty inexpensive. i stripped and painted my with hammerite, but have had them powdercoated and expoyed. it's all personal preference, and the end result you want.

    • @thegemhiveantiquejewellery796
      @thegemhiveantiquejewellery796 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WilliamMurfitt i just paid £1400 for the front subframe to be powder coated and new brake lines, i bought the cones and bushes so thats another £120 on top of that and i still have to have it put back in the car.

      @@thegemhiveantiquejewellery796 wow i think i completely underestimated the job. That sounds expensive but if your happy then the cost is irrelevant 🙂
