Timelapse Motorbike - Ducati XDiavel engine out and strip down part one

Here is a quick Episode of a Ducati Xdiavel with a damaged gearbox selector. We pulled the bike down into a million pieces , then disassembled the engine completely . Parts are on order so subscribe to see if we can get this thing back together,,,, this time with an airshifter to help it go drag racing.

It sure is Jim. Goes like a ripper too. We are just about to set up a pneumatic quickshifter .

Very different for an XD. Its an awesome racebike to do laps on for the owner.

Do You work for a ducati dealer? And that’s a crazy tear down. Literally a million pieces.

Yeah I work at my dads sole Ducati dealership for the last 27 years,, since I was 15 here in the workshop. Now also my son works with us too. So three generations under the one small shop roof,, also mum is chained to the desk in the office cooking the books and my wife is at the front counter. Good mob to be around .

@@turbobike749 Your doing what you love that's good alot of people hate there jobs or have a bad boss. Why did you have to tear down the Engine on such a new bike?

How many hours did that take to remove the engine ? 14 hours?

Hey guys I have a question. I have a 2019 1260s multi strada. Equipped with the quick shifter and electronic suspension. Anyway my question is if 4th gear goes out and I hear a loud metallic clicking and clanking down in the gearbox. Have you or anyone ever have something similar happened and what was the cause?

WOW I own one and never knew just how much they managed to cram in these things, no wonder they're so expensive lol QQ if you would be so kind being a pro. When I move my bike backwards after a ride the rear wheel creaks but only backwards and only when hot, do you think the belt is too tight or hub going out :-( also do the clutches sound a bit like a dry clutch when hot from the left side, Not clutch side strangely and goes when the lever is pulled in? Just don't want to get rid as love it so much. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi mate, maybe try and lube the side of your belt with some belt lube or a candle. Not too much but !

I’m most intrigued by the black swingarm. Can you elaborate on it?

Hi Floyd. The swingarm is just standard mate. I have only recently just got this thing back together. It was soo hard to do. We are fitting an airshifter to the bike at the moment. Automatic shifting too

@@turbobike749 I own an XDiavel S and the swingarm is a silver color, not black. Did you have yours powder coated?

Nah it was a gearbox issue.
