- The cause is either the coolant sensor or thermostat. I have another video showing the location of both on the v6 (LGX) which is underneath the intake manifold. It is in a different place for the I4 and v8 models.

This is a temporary fix, it will most likely come back sometime later. You can do this again when it does or change the thermostat and it should be fixed. I find that if you drive on it without doing this or fixing it for a week or so then you’ll get a CEL which you can get rid of by doing this as well.
Works for all models (LT/SS/ZL1) - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Bro you literally saved my life , I thought it was gonna be something bad, I did the same thing that you did, and boommm it worked.,,thank you sir !!
You’ll eventually have to replace either coolant sensor or thermostat but I did this method for years without replacing them lol
Thanks dude👍Worked for me on my 2018 RS!
How to do it ?
Worked Perfectly
Thank you. Worked on my 2016 RS
It worked for me too I needed this vid
Thank u man!!
Saved my day and time, thank you brother 🙏🏽
Thank you bro, it worked 😎
Thank you. 👍
Thank you Bro
Yo thank you 🙏
Thank you
my temp fix is to remove the relay but thats getting old so Im looking into the thermostat sensor
Ppreciate this tho til I can get it fixed
I have had the same issue. I replaced my thermostat and temperature sensor and as of now the car is running fine. I suggest that whoever is having this problem should replace both items listed previously. Also there are a few videos on TH-cam that helped guide me in the process of replacing the items.
How much did the fix cost you? & Did you go to a GM shop or does not matter?
The thermostat was like $30-50 and coolant sensor was around $15. You could do it in your driveway, doesn’t matter where you take it as it’s just removing and installing new part, no programming or anything
@@Bumbleboy92 where did you buy the parts?
Thermostat I got off Car-Part and the sensor eBay. The dealership should have them too at slightly higher price.
thanks @@Bumbleboy92 about the sensors I’ll look into buying one. I’ve been having to do the battery trick I learned from another guy on you tube. My cat started doing This a few weeks ago and it’s annoying 🤦🏾♂️
My 2017 rS I did that with the battery it does reset it and about 1 day later or even hours later after driving it does the same thing doesn’t read temp and fan runs
I replaced Thermostat and sensors
That work also there a fan relay fuse that’s purple with label 30 may need to be change out a $5 dollar part
Depends, typically it’s the thermostat or coolant sensor and for the v6 to reach either you have to take off the intake manifold
Which fuse is it? It’s a couple with the 30 on it
does your ac not take out any cold air? i’m having the same problem but my gauge isn’t working as well
When this happens then it doesn’t blow cold, the computer pulls this as a ‘fail safe’ since it does not know the coolant temperature so it shuts off the ability, you’re only getting air as if you had the fan on without AC
@@Bumbleboy92 appreciate the info i was trying to figure this out all day today it makes sense now bc it was just normal temp not hot
I did this but it happened again a week later. Do you know how to fix it permanently?
Yeah this is a temporary fix, get long fix you have to replace thermostat
Do u have to fix it? Or can I just keep on doing the temporary fix?
I’ve just been doing this temp fix for over a year now. Usually the issue comes up when there’s a drastic change in the weather
It worked for a few days
It’s a temporary fix, as the title says
Man, I have to do it every day, replaced the coolant sensor, still same problem,
Coolant is not lasting even 1 day, I have to refill it every day, 😢
Try replacing the thermostat, it usually happens when there’s a noticeable change in temperature. Though the coolant should not be draining, if you have to refill it daily then you have a coolant leak and should find that asap
Is the primary fix the thermostat sensor?
Most people say it’s the thermostat that fixes it, a few people say it’s the coolant sensor. Best to replace both since they’re right next to each other
Did your air start blowing hot? And did your coolant stemp stay at the C
Yes, this is a temporary fix for that
Is it normal to not have any check engine lights?
@RugratJay197 if you run it like that for a long time it’ll get a check engine light but won’t show up immediately
@@Bumbleboy92 bet finna I’m finna try it now I’ll lyk
@@Bumbleboy92appreciate it bro my air blow cold again n my coolant hand work!
Bro I'm having the same issue with my 2019 rs 😒.
Bro me two this shi weird but let’s see if this actually works
Yeah sadly pretty common on all 6th gen Camaro’s, only real fix I’ve seen is to replace the thermostat or sometimes coolant sensor
Does the fan eventually goes off by itself after car is off??
Without doing this temp fix, it will eventually turn off after a while of the engine turning off. Though the AC will not blow cold and it’ll get humid in the cabin
@@Bumbleboy92 okay thank you!
@@Bumbleboy92 my problem started today, my Ac is not cold anymore, my fan keeps running after I turn the car off. I had low coolant which I just refilled, but I’m still getting the same issue
@@balmyrnerelus3272 did the video procedure work?
Yo bro how much did they charge you at the dealership bro having the same issues with my Rs rn
You think I can do the same thing to my car it’s a 2017 Camaro Rs PLEASE let me know
@@eduardomendoza6304 you can do this as a temporary fix, I didn’t go to the dealer but if you’re within powertrain warranty then it should be covered.
I'm having issues with my rs also
Anyone found a permanent fixed I have a 2017 rs
Replace either coolant sensor or thermostat
My camaro's temp gauge not working and coolant fan runs all time even when car is off
I got a 18 Camaro SS and it just did it right now this is the second time and disconnecting the battery helps but it temporarily fixes it
@@fernandosolorzano5278 It's the fan relay on the fuse box. I put a new one in problem solved
If the temp gauge isn't working, its likely the coolant temp sensor. Easy to replace. th-cam.com/video/rp4JEJCNWd8/w-d-xo.html
@@nottevenclose4139 me and my friend both replaced our coolant temp sensor and it didn’t fix it. it somehow decided to happen to both of our camaros around the same time.
You replace the thermostat?
I was better off with the foreign
I’m having this issue rn, it isn’t the first time it does this to me but the last time it happened it fixed on its own the same day after I went over a bump & im guessing that’s what caused it at first because right now it’s happening & I went over a bumpy road and that’s when it started up again so I’m guessing hitting a bump can cause this issue
Yes. Hit bump on road tonight after bump sign and it happens to my 2018 ss
