For those who have a 6 speed manual transmission. I Love the Rev Matching feature.
haha i love how it sounds man cant get enough of the rev matching.
I always have this activated, wish the car would remember that setting and leave it on.
However, all that does is blip the revs for downshifting. It doesn't work upshifting.
Agree, at first I thought 'I know how to rev match, I don't need this', but then I realized the computer does it so much better than I can do it (plus it doesn't forget to do it like I do sometimes). Its on all the time.
The 6 speed auto does as well

Not for nothing but you explain more about the Camaro than the average Chevrolet car dealer does they don't know half of these features in the Camaro and you explain it very well thank you keep the videos coming if only I lived closer I would hang with you.

I agree. When I took mine for the test drive, the guy seemed to be just along for the ride. He told me a few things but not the stuff I really needed/wanted to know about. I took it out on the freeway and hammered it a little, lol and he got fussy at me. It wasn't until after a few months that I learned how to properly milk it for power and control. I get that they don't want you trashing on it till you drive it off the lot, but still... I didn't want a granny car, and the guy was kind of pushing me to baby it. I would have thought that he'd have noticed that I wasn't a snowbird that wanted to cruise it around carefully like it was a glass ornament. Also took me a long time just to learn many of the non obvious features.
Agreed. I find that the salespeople know very little & more importantly, don’t own one, don’t drive one & have never driven one...had a guy tell me the 2020 had an 8 speed automatic & didn’t know the manual was a Tremec. Also, they keep pushing the automatic on you instead of also talking manual ~ weird.👎🏼
for the remote window roll down, you only need to press and hold unlock once. plus! while the windows are rolling down, if u hit unlock again, it stops them. so u can roll them down half way or to whatever u want

I like the little ambient light between the two reading lamps. Also the spectrum lighting, both of those items make the cockpit a nice place to be at night.

@@berrellhughes8913 As far as I know, there is no way to adjust the brightness.
I love the remote start just so I don't have to be in the car while it is warming up and getting oil circulating. Also great to know about the back seat! I'll have to try that.
My RS has the A8 and I love all those features !!

Maybe a guide for how to set up the seat memory would make a decent video. You can go through the menu options in comfort & convenience (I think you want those off when you set it up?). The buttons, then turning those settings back on ECT.
Ya my sales guy showed me how, even though I knew from doing it in a new C7 Z06.. .but all you gotta do is set it where you want. Then press the very first button and the number at the same time. Then move it where you want it to go when you get out and press the first button and the last button (exit button) at the same time. Make sure it is turned on in your settings on your screen though. But I agree Lethalhammer makes good videos might as well do one more LethalHammer! ;)
For setting it up is just position it and then press set and then hit 1 or 2

Hey Matt, great video. I took about 2 hours to find the trunk button. I knew it existed but didn't know where. Also, I live in northern Canada and where you use remote start to cool your car, I use it to warm. So great feature.

The remote window down feature works with manual transmission cars as well.

I did not know i just bought a new battery for my fob, im assuming the car needs to be running?

I’m 2 months from buying a Camaro ss but i have a huge question it may be dumb but i need to know “ can you only use premium gas. 94, 89 Or can you use the middle like 92 or 87) if i use anything lower how will it effect your car
New SS 1LE owner here, the steering wheel adjustment is awesome with the telescopic adjustment, not many cars offer that. Of course the no lift shift and auto launch feature is amazing as well, however not much practical use in town

2017 2SS with a manual trans, windows do roll down with the remote. Wish I could get the remote start tho.
The roll down your window feature from my understanding is primarily for when its hot you open your windows to let that hot air surge out of your car. That's what I've been told and it works.
Ya one reason I wanted a sunroof until I found out about this feature. Just make sure you don't hit it while it is pouring down rain at night... or just got your windows tinted... or parked in a not so good neighborhood.
Todd Ison one reason auto roll up would be dope. it's raining out and you forgot to roll up the windows. Seems like it would make sense to make that feature work both ways

I think the roll up feature does not exist for safety reasons. as it will roll up automatically and if a pet or a person was reaching in/out, it cant be stopped. just maybe
Side mirrors can be set to tilt down when you reverse. Passenger, driver or both. Pretty neat feature.
My parents Escalade has that and when I was younger I thought it was cool but now I know why they didn't really like it. It tilts down to rear tires so you won't curve them but the point of those mirrors is to see behind you while backing up. Lose 2 of 3 backup mirrors. Parents bought it back in 2004 so there is no backup cam

Chevy should have added the keyless entry feature like other cars have where you just grab the handle to unlock, not push the lock button.
My moms car has the sensor where you just grab the handle. I get why you like it since its more sleek and hidden, but I actually like the buttons on the camaro because I can choose to push it twice to open both doors. On my moms car, if you unlock the doors from the driver side, you need to unlock the other doors by pressing the button inside the car
button allows you to unlock and lock the car without using the FOB at all

I have a 1ss 2022 and I tried the unlock button to roll down my windows but it didn’t work ? I have manual ? Why isn’t the window feature working for me ?
How do you make the PDR work for The 2024 SS? I see the part to put the Sd card inside the little compartment where you can put your chargers, but I do not see how to make it work. I have the Camera already built in the car and everything. Lmk if any of you know how. The manual doesn’t say much
I live in mexico, here doesn't exist 1ss or 2ss but mine has all the equipment of a 2ss (leather seats and all stuff) but it doesn't roll down the windows with the controller, any idea of why? Thanks (: and nice video

J -Money it doesn't work it's only for letting the windows down GM used to have the program and the older vehicles but not in these new ones

I have that problem in Pittsburgh and it drives me insane! Especially if I don't have any air on, which I like to leave off and get fresh air often. I hate it!
im your size and i was just playing with the seats. if you move the seat to were you want it when you get out you put one finger on set and another on exit. press set let off then press exit as soon as you let off the set button and it will save that position. go into vehicle setting and there's a exit setting. you turn it on and when you open your door the seat will go to the preset exit automatically. Mine is all the way down and back. when you get in the car and turn the acc on or start it automatically adjusts to the last setting 1 or 2.
yeah, the exit setting does nothing for me as I already have the seat down and back as far as it goes.
I like the phone charger pad on the consle rear that charges your phone without a cord.

same here, I have the GS8+ and it is too large to fit in the slot, so much for having a nice phone, and a nice charger, not compatible.

One feature everyone overlooked. When you open your arm rest at the bottom its padded just like the cup holders and you can put a bigger drink in that. I've tried it with my 32oz slurpee 😆

I also love the weather map feature, this way if my baby is all detailed and waxed like it always is I can which direction the rain clouds are coming from and adjust my route. The rev matching on the manuals is nice also it really makes the NPP come to life.
+SDchargers Automatic rev matching is a feature on the manuals that blips the throttle for the driver and raises your rpms for smooth downshifts. Race car drivers do this manually by breaking with their heel and tapping the gas peddle with their toes when coming into a corner but the Camaro does this for you all you have to do push in the clutch and downshift. Some other cars have this feature such as the 370z. Hope I explained this well enough.
I wanted a some and ice mode. and I wanted a four cylinder for commuting 160 moles daily. But my phone automatically connection via Bluetooth is the most handy I've found so far.
Idk if someone already said or or if it's the same on the Camaro, havnt bought one yet. But my 350z had the same window up/down with the remote. It's the opposite as down hit the lock button then hold the lock button to roll up.

Can't believe how good it looks in white. I have a black SS and I wish I got a different color. You just can't see the details as nice in my opinion.
I have the metallic blue with black rims and stripe. Sometimes I wish I had black. I think it's normal to want a color you don't have. I figured two toned would give the best of both but...all black is the freakin' batmobile.
Just got my 6th Gen a month ago. Although I didn't know some of these, I can't believe that no one would know about the windows. I also have a 2006 Murano that has that feature and since I haven't done any shopping since, I figured all high end models of a particular car had that feature. So it did not surprise me when it worked. Once again, read the manual (cough, cough).

Three those who add a lever to the trunk to close it without getting your nasty finger prints on it. ;)

I use the trunk lid then wipe off the fingerprints when its closed.
auto roll down windows are mainly for really hot days, so you can let the hot air out before you get in.

Man I love your videos they are very detailed oriented!! One question though? Was it hard for the dealers to find a camaro that was customized to your exact wants on the car such as body color, rim color, and packages etc? Or did you have to narrow your choices down to cars they had on the lot??
I ordered mine from GM, so i got it the way I wanted it. But the 16's are getting hard to find now. If a specific car you want is not available, check back weekly as the 2017's are hitting the lots.
+Lethalhammer oh good to know thanks man. I was very curious due to the 2SS having many add ons other than just the standard features that comes on that trim level and one add on being the magnetic ride control that is a must have for me as well as the quad performance exhaust.
Nice vid...on a different note, have you had any problems with diff or transmission on your car? I was thinking of getting a Camaro, but even the 6th gen have issues with their manuals not shifting properly into 2nd & some kind of shudder with the automatics. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Matt, you said auto windows goes with both cars but only for automatic. I have a 2SS in the 6 speed and the auto window down feature is on my car. Maybe I misunderstood you and only in automatic is remote start, which is true. PS, thank you on the trunk button! I knew about the button in my door and on my remote.. Never knew about the button haha
The 2017 2SS has a cordless cell phone charger platform on the back of the center counsel. Unfortunately it's rather small, and my S9 Galaxy with a minimal case on it doesn't lay flat into it, so it doesn't work.

+David Rye it's for when you walk up on the car to let the heat out.
it allows you to reduce the heat inside the car before ytou enter the vehicle, the up option is not available because it was not intended for an all day option, just a quick option as approaching say in a parking lot.

Buy one and replace the clutch. Even better, buy one from a dealer and make the terms require a clutch replacement

The driver's s seat does not recline on the 1SS. Does it recline on the 8 way power seats on the 2SS?

Presley Watson only available on the automatics, I believe you need to lock it first and then hold down the turn over button on your fob for 3 seconds, then the car will start 👍

I was worried because I notice today that I locked my car, notice that I open the door by pressing the silver bottom again. I was going to the dealer in the.morning becuase I was afraid anyone can open my car. Thank you for sharing. I guest if the key remote is closed anyone can open the car.

To open them hold the "open" button and to close them hold the "lock" button

Started reading the owners manual and finding some interesting features I didn't know about like : Reverse Tilt Mirror
When on, both the driver and passenger outside mirrors will tilt downward when the vehicle is shifted to R (Reverse) to improve visibility of the ground near the rear wheels. They will return to their previous driving position when the vehicle is shifted out of R (Reverse) or the engine is turned off. See Reverse Tilt Mirrors 0 42.
Select Off, On - Driver and Passenger, On - Driver, or On - Passenger.

I am 6'1" and have a lot of room. as for no back seat, its only there to make it a 2 door coupe and not a 2 seat sports car. Makes an easy 1K diff in what you pay for insurance a year!
I agree. The back seat is basically for looks, or to put something. It's virtually worthless for anything other than a very small child.
ok u must own a ss2 cuz some of the things u talk about will not work on ss1.like the windows down/no the seats/nocharge cell/nocool seats/noput keys in back holder/no I hv a auto.

+zr1ftw you can't order it with cool lighting... but you can add it after the fact, but it won't be cheap.
Sledgie, did you find the engine hour meter in the settings? It's one that you have to turn on before it's in your scrollable menu. My car has a lot of engine idle time, and it made me wonder, then I remembered all the time in quality control at Penske in Troy, MI. They must have idled my engine a lot while it was sequestered there, like 56 hours of idle time.

Hey I have a 5th gen... and I'm curious bc I'm 6ft 250 pounds is it a smaller fit... and does the seat recline more or less or the same as the fifth gen
If you’re still curious three years later. I’m 6ft 280 in a 23 1ss and I fit perfectly the seats don’t recline too far back but it’s not bad I have more than enough room
Do they make a camaro ss that doesn’t have all the fancy electronic stuff but still has the extra gages like the 2SS

LethalGarage memory seats, rear view mirror that’s a camera, adaptive cruise Control, if they have that heated steering wheel, heads up displace, just more stuff to worry about breaking when the car gets old

Dude Lethal I enjoy your videos man. I am new to the Camaro fan club. I bought the 50th Anniversary 2017 Camaro and I absolutely love my Camaro! It’s the dream car with a few more bells and whistles. There is not one thing I would change on the 6th Gen Camaro or even my “Fifty” I just need a little advice on my Camaro. The Phastek front license plate bracket. Will it fit and work with the Fifty Anniversary front grill? The reason I ask is because of where I live I have to have a front license plate? I would also like to be able to take the front license plate off when I want. I also watched your 10 Cool Features of the 2016/2017 Camaro SS (1SS or 2SS) and I have used and tried most features that come with the A8. I just can’t seem to get my windows to roll down by unlocking and holding down the button. Its really not that big of a deal its just a neat feature. Also I know that you went over where you put your cell phone while driving your car and you usually put it in the cup holder but I was just wondering. If there is anything I could buy to increase my storage a bit inside the Camaro? I also would like to buy a few sticks for my Camaro. I have seen them on other Camaros I want the ones that go around the side mirrors that say “SS or "Camaro"
What do you use to clean your rims on your Camaro?
I just usually wipe them down with a microfiber cloth the brake dust is terrible on the Camaro Bro.
A few things I want do to with my Camaro is get the windows tinted a few exteriors mods like stickers around the side mirrors nothing to major. Maybe just maybe valve stem caps that say "SS' they will probably get stolen so i might not get those.
Other than these few things I am leaving her they way she is the stock exhaust sounds is sexy and wouldn’t change it.
Any other tips or mods would be greatly appreciated mAn

+Ethan Harrell For the license plate get the ShoNGo. For the windows, you have to allow it in the Mylink settings. Wheel cleaner, adams wheel cleaner, soap and a pressure washer.

Thanks for describing the little things that are features. I'm in the market to buy a new Camaro. I've test driven several versions, convertible vs. hardtop and hardtop with a sunroof. Your's obviously doesn't have a sunroof. Any thoughts why? Why hardtop vs convertible? I'd appreciate your in put.

+Cameron White not a fan of sunroofs. Never use them. But the other reason is I like the reverse Mohawk on this car. Sunroof makes the top flat

Supp Leethal. All those features are helpful and intuitive with the exception of the one that lowers the windows with the key fob to allow wifey or friends to access a forgotten item from the vehicle. Not having the access to raise the windows back up defeats the purpose of having this feature in the first place. Other than that, the rest of the features are great to have.
How did Google let us both be Darth Raider lol.
The intention is not for your forgetful wife, you can just hit the unlock for that, but instead to air out the vehicle on a hot day.
I believe manufacturers do not have 'remote windows up' because it is a safety issue. The main purpose of this feature is to cool the car before entry anyways, so you will be entering the car and can easily shoot them back up.
