Hey guys! I apologize in advance for the poor image quality in some of the shots. There's been several technical difficulties in the rendering and editing with the raw footage. I recommend watching this video on your mobile device. Thanks again!
I have a 2010 2SS with BBK longtube headers, straight piped exhaust with 2 1/2 exhaust and x-pipe. It's honestly very quiet when cruising to the point where you hardly even hear it. It's only really loud at cold start and when you really get on it. There was a little drone when I first got the work done but then it died out after driving some. Mine is also sort of a daily driver and I highly recommend doing this if you have an SS. The car is waaaaay too quiet. I started just adding the headers which was still quiet. Then a muffler delete...same thing. Once I cut the res and added the x-pipe that's when it really woke it up. I'm in Illinois. I've had a modified Challenger V6, a Muffler deleted Challenger RT and now the Camaro (which is definitely the loudest) and I've never gotten any trouble from the law here and have been blessed enough to have neighbors that absolutely love my car. But then again, I don't obnoxiously rev or do dumb shit either. Lol
Yeah man, the drone only happens at higher speeds. I'm honestly in the same predicament with my neighbors, the most action they'll get from me is the weekly cold starts and thats it hahah!
I've been watching you for almost a year now and i love what you've done with the Camaro. Your videos are what made me finally go out and get 1 for myself. I bought a 2014 2ss/rs and it has been amazing 2 me. I've done a lot of modifications to mine except the exhaust so far.... looks like its time I change that lol. thanx for the excellent content bro!!
We actually have the same setup minus the cats, I'm catless and Im thinking about switching up the setup because the exhaust note at low rpms is awkward on my build. Im thinking of going Corsa. Our cars sound the same haha but I'm A6 l99
I’ve had 2 straight piped Cummins trucks and when I lived in an apt complex the apt manager told me I couldn’t park my truck in the complex lol so yea can confirm there are some headaches
I purchased a 4 cylinder chevy malibu and it came from a previous owner who lived near the beach, so the exhaust was all rusted out, cats and all, so it was cheaper for me to put headers and straight pipe it, it sound good and is not real loud enough to piss people off, but it helps to have a good stereo that is loud too
Not the new ones because they get raspy but 5th gen Camaro's sound good straight piped also old 60s to 70s muscle car with a v8 also sound good straight piped
Straight pipes are illegal where I live. Problem for the people who don't like it is so many guys have done it that the cops gave up trying to enforce it 😂
Great video i been recently just watching your videos. Im not sure if you heard of them or not yet but you should consider looking into noweeds diverters. They are a little pricey but well worth the price. Its a duel valve cut outs and it will help with any of the cons you mentioned in the video basically. I think it's super cool and the best thing to be a sleeper at a red light and someone revs on me thinking my car is quieter than theirs then pushing the button to open them off right off of long tube headers and i will say it is stupid loud. It doesn't get anymore louder than that i want to say running literally just long tube headers open LOL 😎and the sound is great due to v8. I have a 2011 ss camaro myself
I have a straight piped l99 and I can’t ever go on the freeway without people lining it up with me😂😭 but a lot of regular traffic ride my ass or cut me off for no reason
I think what to do that’s best is go with a mid sound nice tone no too loud muffler in back but in middle do cut outs and you can make it straight pipe with a button and then push it again and not get in trouble
sounds great bro, how is that pops tune? I like how it sounds. I'm thinking of adding that on but I don't want it to sound like gunshots like some of those European cars
@@gvaspirated yeah man I looked at this color and Synergy green. I found my silver and it was a garage queen. Couldn’t pass it up. Love it now but originally I wanted this color or synergy green
I added longtubes about 2 weeks ago. I have no cats into a xpipe and then muffler delete and it sounds pretty good. at 2k rpm it sounds like a trumpet (my only gripe) but above that it sounds so sweet it's worth it! down shifting with the paddles sounds amazing.
@@fbody23100i have that same problem at 2k rpm, i’m thinking of putting my stock resonator or mufflers back to eliminate the rasp. did you ever find a fix for it ??

Strait pipe sounds horrible, annoying pops and drone. Just get a good setup and you’ll be good. Let’s not forget the loss in horsepower too. Get ya 1 or 2 chamber muflers
With sound, I think it sounds great! But to each their own I guess. Admittedly it has flaws tho. Drone is for sure an issue. I can definitely see myself changing my set up in the future tho.
@@gvaspirated it’s obviously not my car so I can’t talk bad on it but those strait piped cars do sound really good at idle with the tone. I live in a place with annoying strait piped trucks and civics so it’s hard to like them anymore 😂😂

Straight piping is amazing! Don’t recommend it if it’s your daily but it sounds sooo good 🔥😩
100% agree with you Kayla! Easiest and cheapest way to sound totally ballistic. At the cost of daily drivability tho hahaha
@@gvaspirated does straight pipe effect gas mileage or something ? How come you can’t do daily
@@Todddy1k yes it significantly kills MPG but it’s just insanely too loud, attracts a lot of unwanted attention

How funny! Lmfao, i bet people always pause and look around not expecting for it to come from your malibu!
It makes me sound alot faster than I am, I actually wish it were slightly softer so I might slam a cat in soon
if you ever do get muffers the corsa extreme would sound insane but i say the downside would be they are crazy expensive.

Ive had headers on my 2012 ss just staright piped it and its so fun but very loud. Have u ever been pulled from how loud it is

those stock mufflers are huge.
how much weight do you loose with an borla exhaust?
