55 years ago, when I was 3, my friend Pamela, who was also 3 and I rode our tricycles to Dars Variety (5 and dime) without telling our moms. we rode about 3 miles across town. we parked our trikes out front and went in to shop. we likely had two bits or so in our purses, but I am pretty sure my parents had an account we could have charged our purchases to. Anyway, the store manager saw us and didn't think anything of it until our moms didn't show up. The Safeway was next door and it was not uncommon for me to go to Dars while mom shopped with my little brother. Well eventually the store manager called my mom and when my mom answered the manager asked her if she knew that Pamela and I were at the store shopping. Of course she didn't. Oh Lord, I miss "the good old days". We were glad to get a ride home because the way back was uphill. I don't recall getting in trouble, but then I was 3. 😂
LOL I thought she was driving the car that had the dash-cam in it! I thought the white car was just trying to distract the person driving really slow to wake them up.
Every other report I've seen about this was not taken serious at all. Reporters laughing like it's cute and even the police talked about how they let her finish her frap. Nothing about this is ok, she could have killed someone. The fact that she was bold enough to do this tells me there won't be a punishment. Kids that are actually being raised by functional adults wouldn't do this. This is a child who gets their way and the adults around her worship her.
Exactly if she were my child (which mine are all grown up now) I would have grounded her easily more than a year with NOTHING to do. Unbelievable how kids are being raised these days…..🤬
"Without incident" except for that mailbox she demolished!! Then the cops treat her like a little princess and allow her to finish her drink and forced Target to return money she spent! Un-fugging-believable! not the least bit funny!
When I was a transit bus tech, our Gillig factory trainer told us of a similar story. Happened in Bremerton Washington. An autistic passenger that regularly rode the shuttle van. ( para transit ) He took a small bus, went around town picking up friends. They went somewhere in town. Had their fun, then he took them all back and dropped them off. Parked the bus and went home. The bus washers noticed it wasn’t fueled & washed, and it had more miles than reported on last shift. They verified it with security camera footage. He didn’t damage anything. We joked, they should have hired him !
When I was in 4th or 5th grade the new OutKast CD came out and me and some buddies were bored. The dude whose house we were at had like 14 kids in his family, it was always a madhouse. My buddy had the bright idea to go get the CD at walmart but his older brother wouldn't drive us, my buddy was not happy. He took his keys and we loaded up in the car and went to walmart, got the CD and drove home. Nobody was ever any the wiser we went, not even his brother noticed his car gone. We enjoyed the ish outta that CD.
My friend’s grandchildren drank fancy coffee drinks such as Frappuccino because the mother bought them for the children and with all the flavorings, they tasted good…the children are grown now, with weight issues, and one had weight reduction surgery at age 22 or 23.
I was six years old when I bought a candy bar by myself at Kroger's. Repeatedly, when I was 7, 8, 9, and 10, I bought a ton of candy at a small, local convenience store with my friends. No one cares how old you are if you are spending money unless you are buying cigarettes or liquor. We had a lot more freedom years ago than kids do these days. But we did not have freedom to steal the car for a joyride.
Tbh I worked at Target the summer I turned 19, and neighnorhood kids sometimes shopped there. It was a well off area, so I wouldn't have been surprised if one of them spent that much. None ever did though, and they were usually a bit older too, like 12ish. So this situation would have struck me as slightly odd, and I would have asked about her parents and transportation, bc she's going to need help with the $400 merchandise I just sold her.
i don’t think she was feeling like.. entitled.. more like “i wanna go shopping but mommy is sleeping so i’ll just go instead!” and since she’s clearly been behind the wheel before, but enabling definitely didn’t help
I took my dad's Porsche when I was twelve. I couldn't get it back in the drive way though because it was on a hill. My sister's boyfriend did it for me and almost crashed thru the living room. My folks are gone now and they never found out.
Smart kid. She's got $400 worth of toys and knew punishment at her age would be no more than confinement in her room with all the toys for a while. Sure wish I'd figured that out when I was her age.
If this had been my kid, she would be grounded until 16….. no exceptions! Like they said, what if she hit another car and killed them, or hit a pedestrian? I’m sure the parents are cringing with embarrassment knowing how the final outcome could’ve been.
My parents let me drive around our property when I was 8 and learned how to drive a stick at 5. Her driving doesn't look like she was taught to me. I am curious how she did with parking though.
Apparently, there are a lot of 8 year old kids driving where I live. I say that, because almost everyone i see, drives exactly like what I seen in this video.
Y'all acting like she performed brain surgery or something. She drove better than ALLLLL of the foreigners I have to dodge. Last week I dodged 3 cars entering the highway using the off ramp that I was using to get off the highway. I never imagined I'd come that close to a head-on collision using the off ramp!!! It's really not that difficult to drive a car. Especially when we give babies battery operated jeeps as toys.
I remember a news story a few years back about a little boy who drove his little sister to McDonald's. He used his turn signals and everything. He said he learned to drive from You Tube. He took the car when his grandparent was sleeping.
She the 8 year old is lucky, weaving in and out of lanes and she had a angel with her being it was not rush hour or higher time traffic on this route to Wal-Mart.
There are other ways she could have learned to drive…child size battery operated Mini cars that are made for kids could have helped her learn to drive. Although she looked like she was having a little trouble seeing over the front of the car.
All lights were green or did she run a few red lights? You can not tell me that GOD is not real. While her parents were slacking it seems, GOD protected her every step of the way❤
She took the car without permission. I'm guessing taking things of others is not a problem for this kid, so whoever she got it from might not be accountable. It could have also been hers. Like birthday/Christmas money set aside on her behalf, that she decided she can use how/when she wants bc it's hers. I don't think it matters that much; even if she had complete autonomy of the money, that's no excuse to drive the car.
I’m over here kinda giggling, but then I think about my 15 year old twins driving me along with a legal permit which terrifies me enough, so I’m not giggling so much 😳
Does this girl have anyone paying attention to her? An 8 y.o. has keys to the car and $400 to spend at a store 35 minutes away from her home. I'd go to parenting classes if I was that negligent.
I wouldn't allow my 8 year daughter anywhere with a car until she's 16. I might even have the police arrest my daughter and make her stay locked up for a few hours. I don't think I would want her to have a court case but at the same time I hope she had learned a lesson. I'm so glad that this child was caught and hopefully she doesn't try to do this dangerous stunt again.
This is to the lady reporter: You do NOT have to be a parent to feel anxious and frightened by the dangers an 8 yr old driving a vehicle. WE all were feeling the same anout this story. AND your baby doll dress is much too young for a mother like you to be wearing.
I wouldn’t shame her for wearing a short dress because she’s a mother. That’s sexist and silly. I do feel like that dress doesn’t flatter her body type though.
When I was a kid my mother used to take me driving. I never took the car alone though. I was maybe 12 when my driving lessons started. This was common back in the day.
I work in early childhood development.... Let's do this experiment with your children as young as three or four.... Or grandchild.... The next time they're in your vehicle ask them.... Show me how to get home? They will point and try and tell you which way to go and you will be amazed... They will get you home! Lol For instance.... When you pick them up from daycare or school.... Just ask them which way do I go to get home? You will be surprised!
A child driving that well without prior experience? You would be amazed by how much children learn by watching and observing in cars and light aircraft. They are working it out.
This is a little different situation, but I remember a local farmer teaching his young son how to drive his pickup truck. I don't remember his age, but he was in grade school.

God Bless you and may The Lord Jesus guide you and teach you as you live your life. I pray he does and you let him guide you. Amen.
So nobody even gets a traffic ticket for this? Child endangerment? Public endangerment? Or it's just a cute story, huh? Prayers for this community as this child grows up unchecked.
Well.... She can't get a ticket if the police did not actually physically see her on the highway... Dash cam was from a local citizen not the police... Once you're parked and the police didn't catch you red-handed... they cannot offer you a citation...ijs
I agree. I didn't find this in the least bit funny.
I was so stressed watching esp at the end looks like she’s in the oncoming lane and imagine if there was a car like this isn’t funny
Who said this was cute? It’s not!!
I read she wasn't charged cause she was too young.
Why are people not taking this more seriously?!
Umm you know why? If u truly don't, think about it. Her name is Sally.
She may have parents who are good drivers and she has learned from watching them. She didn't do too badly, all things considered. I'm sure Mom and Dad will hide the keys from now on. Glad the little girl is okay and nobody got hurt during this event.
“How long do you think she was grounded for?” Probably not long. I have a feeling she may be from a home where there are no consequences for your actions.
Exactly! NONE of these kids in the newer generations gets them! It’s ridiculous. If I did this back then I would have been beaten with a paddle and never done it again.
probably not at all!
Me too. 🤣

This 8 year old thinks she’s in GTA
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
Every other report I've seen about this was not taken serious at all. Reporters laughing like it's cute and even the police talked about how they let her finish her frap. Nothing about this is ok, she could have killed someone. The fact that she was bold enough to do this tells me there won't be a punishment. Kids that are actually being raised by functional adults wouldn't do this. This is a child who gets their way and the adults around her worship her.
Story should also tell you she's white, just by all the giggles & excuses alone! Ludicrous! 😮
Exactly if she were my child (which mine are all grown up now) I would have grounded her easily more than a year with NOTHING to do. Unbelievable how kids are being raised these days…..🤬
Poor baby. I am glad she’s safe and nothing happened other than damage to parents wallet.
"Without incident" except for that mailbox she demolished!! Then the cops treat her like a little princess and allow her to finish her drink and forced Target to return money she spent! Un-fugging-believable! not the least bit funny!
Agree! It’s hard to read others comments patting the kid on the back and giving her kudos. What the heck?
This story is not funny AT ALL. How they're chuckling while showing the video with music playing in the background I don't know.
It’s all ridiculous! CONSEQUENCES NOT PRAISE!!!!
😬👍🏽❤️ it was OUTKAST though.
Wow, reading these comments, more kids drove than I realize. I really missed out!
It's the Frappuccino for me... what the actual fk???! 😂
Lol 😂
My friend’s grandchildren drank fancy coffee drinks such as Frappuccino because the mother bought them for the children and with all the flavorings, they tasted good…the children are grown now, with weight issues, and one had weight reduction surgery at age 22 or 23.
Who's would allow 8 yrs okd purchase $400 worth of items without a parent present.
Self check out😂
Exactly
Where exactly are her parents?
Prob asleep. It was early morning.
She has none she raised herself
@@lonzoextragoldhahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha
That is the sun on the horizon. She’s driving at dawn on Sunday. No traffic to speak of.
More likely sunset, when Target is still open.
@@marcbahn5487 They found her the same day. The story said it was Sunday morning when she went missing.
@@MissLibertarian Yeah, my mistake.
@@marcbahn5487 I'm just glad she could see over the dashboard as well as she did and the other Sunday drivers, too.
@@MissLibertarian Yep, and since nobody was hurt I think she deserves at least a little street cred.
How does this mindset even occur where you feel entitled to steal that car? Did she pay cash for her shopping? Starbucks?
i don’t think she was feeling like.. entitled.. more like “i wanna go shopping but mommy is sleeping so i’ll just go instead!” and since she’s clearly been behind the wheel before, but enabling definitely didn’t help
@@totitelevisionshow How thoughtful of her to be proactive and not wake up mommy 🤣
I guess the same kind myself and others who've done the same have! 😂
This behavior was taught by mom. And I would say that she must have a terrible example of a mother. CPS better get involved.
Most of the people having children today are not fit to be parents.
I took my dad's Porsche when I was twelve. I couldn't get it back in the drive way though because it was on a hill. My sister's boyfriend did it for me and almost crashed thru the living room. My folks are gone now and they never found out.
Buehler...Buehler?
Driving right into the sun like that I wouldn’t have done much better 😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is why kids shouldn’t be charged as adults. This girl had no idea how much danger she put herself and others in.
Certain life and death cases are different for me.
Why does everyone thinks this is funny. She could have harmed herself or others. 😮
@@juanfelipe6969 yes I agree!
This is incredible. Like how in the world. And what kind of cashier is checking her out at Target?!?!
Smart kid. She's got $400 worth of toys and knew punishment at her age would be no more than confinement in her room with all the toys for a while. Sure wish I'd figured that out when I was her age.
I'll be imoressed she got meaningful consequences from adults rather than kudos.
Wellll, there's the 8 year old boy who drove his 4 year old sister to McDonalds and ordered food through the Drive-thru.....no cap
That newscaster is positively adorable and enjoyable! ❤️👍❤️
Actually, that outfit seemed unprofessional and was very distracting...what was the story about?
@@moozville244I didn’t think the outfit was unprofessional, I just thought it was unflattering on her.
She pronounced year “cheer” 😂
If this had been my kid, she would be grounded until 16….. no exceptions! Like they said, what if she hit another car and killed them, or hit a pedestrian? I’m sure the parents are cringing with embarrassment knowing how the final outcome could’ve been.
I hear ya! Idve done the same. 0 consequences. She’s probably getting praised about it. Insane…..😡
My parents let me drive around our property when I was 8 and learned how to drive a stick at 5. Her driving doesn't look like she was taught to me. I am curious how she did with parking though.
Going on about how amusing this is. She could have killed people! Parents should be charged!
Yes!!!
No one showed her, kids are smart by just watching others.
This was not smart
The Frappuccino is the worst thing she did for herself
She needs to be grounded
She drives better than Toonces the driving cat
Deep thoughts, by Jack Handy 😂
Did she DRIVE THRU Starbucks? Either way, no one at Starbucks thought it odd an 8 yr old is by herself?
There is a Starbucks inside that Target store.
Grounded? The parents will be lucky if the girl isn't taken by CPS.
Ummm. It’s easy to laugh, but you all need to consider CPS should probably investigate the family.
"I wanna go fast!!" Ricky Bobby (age 5). It reminds me of the scene from Talledega Nights when 5-year-old Ricky attempts to drive his mom's car.
Mom: "mY cHiLd iS SpEciAL"
Who taught her to drive? Where on earth did she get 400 dollars?😮
who taught her the difference between right and wrong - oh right uncle nobody
All lights were green or did she run a few red lights? You can not tell me that GOD is not real. While her parents were slacking it seems, GOD protected her every step of the way❤

I can’t even imagine the mental state of an 8 year old that would do this. Truly crazy!!!
I've never read where the little girl got $400 dollars from to spend at the store.
They said it in a few news reports, but not all of them.
Since no one has told you, she stole it from her momma
She took the car without permission. I'm guessing taking things of others is not a problem for this kid, so whoever she got it from might not be accountable.
It could have also been hers. Like birthday/Christmas money set aside on her behalf, that she decided she can use how/when she wants bc it's hers. I don't think it matters that much; even if she had complete autonomy of the money, that's no excuse to drive the car.
That's amazing. This video deserves like millions of views.
I didn’t learn how to drive until I was 17 and she did a lot better than me. Lol
To be honest it’s a lot of adults drive this way.
I’m over here kinda giggling, but then I think about my 15 year old twins driving me along with a legal permit which terrifies me enough, so I’m not giggling so much 😳
When my 16 year old started driving, I wasn't too worried until he assured me that his skills from Mario Cart would make him a good driver.

A great advert for manual cars...
I wouldn't allow my 8 year daughter anywhere with a car until she's 16.
I might even have the police arrest my daughter and make her stay locked up for a few hours.

More to the point is, who on earth dressed that presenter?!😮
Her 8 year old.
@@babywah3290 Okay yeah that deserves a thumbs up!
Right?!? The dress was fine but was too short for her body type.
This is to the lady reporter: You do NOT have to be a parent to feel anxious and frightened by the dangers an 8 yr old driving a vehicle. WE all were feeling the same anout this story. AND your baby doll dress is much too young for a mother like you to be wearing.
this comment is so weird did she dump you or something 😂 so many angry ppl I can’t stop laughing
I wouldn’t shame her for wearing a short dress because she’s a mother. That’s sexist and silly. I do feel like that dress doesn’t flatter her body type though.
There’s just two persons that could likely taught her to steer a car “her parents” but she is incredibly good to say the least…
Lol
For instance.... When you pick them up from daycare or school.... Just ask them which way do I go to get home? You will be surprised!
No. There is a starbucks inside most Targets these days.
The first time I got behind the wheel, my instructor refused to believe I had never driven before. Yes... some of us are just that good.
Did she go in the drive thru at Starbucks?

If she crossed over lanes (which she came close to) and headed into oncoming traffic she could have killed herself and innocent ppl. Not a laughing matter.
She DID cross over the double yellow line.
