the fact that she ACTUALLY went through this breaks my heart, happy she is overcoming it now
What’s worse is people on instagram bully her about it. People have told her to try fentanyl. They tell her to “just eat the damn food” that she’s just a picky eater and her disease isn’t real. They say her mom is a bad mom for putting her on the internet because people have said “smash” in the comments. Really it’s so sad.

I'm sitting here crying because I only knew about this video because my son with autism has ARFID and we struggled for about 8 years with his ability to eat food. The fact that he found a video like this to motivate him just makes my heart sink. Hannah, you are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story ❤

as a girl with ARFID this honestly motivates me.. i used to get made fun of for not eating lunch in middle school, and now being in high school im trying to expose myself to new foods!! knowing that she can do it, makes me feel as if i can too! ❤

As someone with ARFID, I feel like this is very stereotypical, and most kids with ARFID have their green foods (Safe foods) yellow foods (will tolerate) and red foods (Fear foods)

She is so cute and adorable. I never realize ARFID was a thing. I’m so sorry this little girl went thru this and how smart to decide to make videos to help others. I can imagine as a Mom the struggles and the hurt she felt inside having people look at her and shaming her. Great video 🎉
Sadly it is, when my son was 2.5 years old he became afraid of eating all food. He went from 70 percentile in weight to 3rd in a matter of months. He went from 34 lbs to 27 lbs. All because he was afraid to eat because he thought it would make him vomit. Thankfully after feeding therapy, Occupational Therapy and a lot of prayer!! He's doing so much better! He is st the 50th percentile for weight still struggles with some foods, but eats enough to be gaining weight and growing. He's small for his age, but he's catching up. ARFID is scary and can strike without much notice. Every stomach she he gets were concerned he won't want to eat again.

If they’re scared of food, how do they eat? Like how do they get protein from the food????
ARFID stands for Avoidant/Restructive Food Intake Disorder, which means you only can't eat a few foods, not all. For example, if your fear food is eggs, you could also just take vitamins and supplements to help with the recovery. ARFID is an ED as much as all other EDs are, just a little different. @@AnAsianCabbage

I'm happy that this story ended happily. I wish that reality was like this, having the bully realize what they did was wrong. I've been bullied before for being different too. I kept quiet about it and even when a teacher did catch the bully harassing me, it made things worse. It's just sad that life doesn't work in the way these videos work.
