A lot of players from back in the day wouldn't make it today. Those that would are often halfbacks, where size and athleticism don't matter as much. Meninga is an exception. His combination of power, speed and smarts would have made him a start today. It's frightening to think that he'd have been even better with strength and conditioning training.
Big Mal is the greatest athlete ever of any sport.He is a much loved Queenslander and we are very proud to have the great man as the leader of our great state and he is a proud Australian also and a great Test Captain.He should have been made an immortal a long time ago.Keep up the great work Bigfella and I enjoy watching u and the boys on Qldrs only.

Dial it down a notch eh, what about the likes of Federer, or Jordan, or Usain Bolt, or Tendulkar or Richie McCaw? Lockyer was better all round than Mal, same with Thurston.....Also Kevin Walters is the QLD coach, Mal hasn't been QLD coach since 2016.

Im from NZ and if you dont respect and admire Mal Meninga you are not a true sports follower.I have seen many great players in my time . Mal Meninga inspired team mates with his actions like Buck Shelford did with the All Blacks .
Mal was awesome defender to.. Watch 94 origin game 1, he hammered Paul Sironen a few times no mean feat at all... Mal always bobbed up at key moments in big games he was “clutch”...
