They aren’t “stereotypes” if they apply to and are just facts pertaining to at least 51% of that race! But you’re right about what she’s pointing out… they perpetuate ALL the “stereotypes” they say we have of them! (Again) that kinda proves that they AREN’T STEREOTYPES!!! It’s about their attitude and just plain ungrateful nature…do they really think they’d be better off staying in Africa? That civilization created slavery!!! They had more of a chance being enslaved…had they all been left there! White men died by the thousands to END SLAVERY yet they still are ungrateful for that sacrifice and their freedom… they wake up “offended” and live in the perpetual pity party…and will guilt trip their way into every situation they can! It’s in their nature to be unhappy and miserable!!!

Yep. I am at that age were prison would be a nice vacation. Had a couple of punks try shit with me one day. I told them to give me one second before we danced...I took my teeth out of my mouth, placed them on the hood of the car, then asked them what they wanted me to tell their mamas when I'm asked why I put them in the hospital. The barbershop scene was filmed in my apartment building. I came home from work and saw like 15 huge trucks. Tons of people everywhere. I asked some tech what was going on and he said clint eastwood was filming a movie. Makes you realize how much work goes into scouting places and then filming there. Clint had an RV. I never saw him but i talked to a royal oak police officer the next day that was there and he was cool. Obviously star struck the way he described Clint. Very positive cop. He said Clint walked around royal oak and met people with no bodyguard. Hes a vegetarian so he didnt eat at my fav mexican restaurant at the time. Wish i at least saw him. Had to work the next day so they were done.

This came out in 2008. I remember 2008. Seems like yesterday. But the character arc of this protagonist is that he's a cranky, unhappy old man. He says racist things to everyone, including the Asian woman in this scene, but has the kind of fundamental moral code also displayed in this scene. It's a similar story arc to Matt Dillion's character's in the 2004 movie Crash. It's too bad the political center has disappeared, and so many Americans like this Eastwood character were swayed to the right, to support extremist white supremacist politicians, instead of moving left, to progressive, anti-racist positions

My maternal grandparents' names were Walter and Dorothy. Grandpa was a WWII vet, and absolute hardass who was shot in the neck, taken prisoner by the Germans, escaped, hid out in France for a few months, and made it back home to his wife. This movie makes me think of him a lot. He died pretty young (63 years old), but he was still the toughest man I've ever met.

No words to describe the legacy of Clint Eastwood. Made his debut in the 1950s classical period of Hollywood and continues making films well into the 21st century - the age of mobile phones, broadband internet and social media all of which he did not see till 60 years of his life. Many of his contemporaries have passed away especially the music director Ennio Morricone whose bgm made him the legend.

My dad fought in WWII and The Korean War. In 1969 he had to use his Colt 1911 to defend himself from a guy that was going to rob him at a Red Light in The Barrio. He was hauling Hot Asphalt at night. Drivers were getting robbed at Red Lights, so my Dad started carrying his Colt on him. One night it was Foggy, and Dad stopped at a light. He saw this guy cross over his trailer draw bar and he was sneaking up on the drivers side of the truck. Dad pulled out his gun and when the dude popped up next to the window Dads Colt was pointed right at the dudes Forehead. Dad asked him if he needed anything? The guy said he was wondering what time it was. Dad told him it was time for him to get off his truck before he Blew his Fucking head off. The guy didnt say a word. He jumped off the truck and started running the other way. True Story.

After a few minutes I found a bar and later a food joint that was still serving hots and burgers at 4am. Both were packed. I was served last at both places, and it felt like it was on purpose. I laughed it off - I was a stranger in a strange land. No one spoke to me in either the bar or the food joint all night. I just minded my business and kind of enjoyed just being a fly on the wall.
