if I did try to get back into Melee, I would definitely look into a leverless controller
mashing directions is much easier, also avoids wear and tear on the controller

Nah, automatic SDI does, like on fox upair for example, just hold left or right, no timing required.

Cstick only gives you one SDI input on the very last frame of hitstun. You can not use it to wank. You must use the left stick
