Great video, awesome breakdown. I'm still leaning towards the Pulse Explores, personally, but I had that same thought that without the active noise cancelling, they need to be about $50 cheaper. At $150 I think it's a no brainer, because they work so seamlessly with the PS5, which is my main use case for them, and they can also connect to all other bluetooth devices (for example, I also want to use them with my Switch). At $200 I may just end up waiting for the next iteration to see if it's more worthwhile, or wait for a sale to check them out or something.
I've had the INZONE Buds for a couple of months and I love them. 12h battery, Active Noise Cancellation and I can use them with my PC, PS5 and Steam Deck for low latency gaming.

How do you feel about the volume output on the pulse Explores? I’ve had mine for a few days now and I just feel like they max out at about 75% volume compared to every other earbud I’ve ever had. The clarity while gaming has been great but if it wasn’t for my “need” of some wireless buds to use with my portal I’d more than likely be returning them. Do you feel like they are slightly lacking with volume?
You can have the Sony inzone earbuds Pair to your computer and still receive calls. You have to pair the earbuds to your phone first and then switch the USB dongle over to PC. And it will connect to your earbuds while still being connected to your phone through bluetooth. When a call comes through, it will automatically switch to the call. There is a setting in the inzone app that you have to turn on.
Fit and seal is the most important part of in ears. Otherwise it’ll sound like thin tinny sheise. To help get a seal you need the right tips (aftermarket works the best) also pulling the back of your ear while insertion helps get a perfect seal.
I think what you are commenting on for sound is the neutrality of the earbuds. Planar Drivers have slam in the bass region and responsiveness no dynamic or earbud driver can compete with. Audeze made the driver in in the Pulse Explorer. Audeze's "house sound" has always been neutral with a warmth in the mid region and a slight roll off on the highs. The bass is usually far more technical on planar drivers as well. Audeze sells $2400+ versions of this some earbud tech. There is a reason Sony Playstation bought them outright. It's lucky they got the price to $200.
Pulse headphones have a known disconnection issue that's shared throughout the reddit community. I'm here to learn about the inzone earbuds I currently own pulse earbuds and they disconnect mid gaming session frequently. It's super frustrating I wouldn't recommend buying them especially with that price tag.
I've been waiting for the Pulse buds since they were announced, but with the reported battery life of those after the announcement of the Inzone buds, I ultimately went with the Inzones for that alone. I don't wanna have to recharge my earbuds every five to six hours if I've got a day off and I'm just playing all day. Then I got to try them, and they sound incredible already even without the EQ adjustments. The touch controls are much more convenient too. Glad I went with them, as I've been seeing reviews saying that the Pulse buds don't sound all that great compared to the Inzones especially with the bass. I was playing the God of War DLC yesterday with the Inzones and after some fatigue on my ears after hours and hours of gaming, I switched to my Sony WH1000XM4. I always thought the XM4s sounded good for games, but the Inzones were just damn clear and better in every way, even if there's just a tiny bit less bass

Best performance is using the link dongle in the front of the PS5 not the back. That's because of radio distortion. Wifi and controllers both use radio technology and it will interfere with the signal. The inzone work better because it's only a type c in front.

Bro, this is one of the best and most informative review videos I have seen lately. Breaking down that Sony and PlayStation are making decisions and products completely separately was very awesome of you to point out. Sony as a company doesn’t really make subpar toys. Both brands definitely have price point differences and goals.
Muxing audio from multiple connected sources is something I've always wanted, but I've never seen supported anywhere. This Pulse Explore feature seems damn close, and pretty compelling for me.
Would love PS to update the Explore so you can control the BT volume on the left side and on the right side the PS portal volume. Would be awesome because there is no point in having two buttons to do the same thing, just controlling the volume on the portal as you know the volume on the portal can also be controlled on the portal so no need for three volume buttons.
sony disabling Bluetooth for the portal because they dont want other better earbuds to be used is easy to believe, but is wrong. The experience is horrible... tested through the superior chiaki4deck and using Bluetooth earphones connected to the steam deck the audio is very delayed! Hard connection is a must for now. (or ps link with the portal) until they get it ironed out. Personally i think that wired is better cus its no battery and other bullshit worries and it just works lol
I did not know Sony and Playstation were separate, so I expected the audio to be the same. I heard about people saying the pulse drops connection often... I have the pulse headset which is ok, but hurts my ears `after a while so am looking for earbuds inside.I am leaning towards the inzones, because noise cancellation is a bare minimum for me. I use the airpods as my daily earbuds and could never go back to no noise cancelling, so that is enough to make me decide.
Great review, it sounds like the Pulse Explores have too many flaws for me. I ordered the Pulse Elites so hope the more simplicity over ear design is better than the earbuds
Thank you for making this video, so that other people can make the best decision on which gaming earbuds that they should buy. I've had the Inzone Buds for about a month now and they are beast. When I saw the features and specs of the Pulse Explore when they were announced, it left me bewildered because they were worse than the Inzone Buds in pretty much every way. Except for Bluetooth connectivity with smartphones, the Portal, and simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz. Not to mention the Pulse Explore are missing features that the Inzone Buds have such as ANC, touch controls, and over double the battery life. I don't own the PS Portal, neither do I plan on getting one because I'm very sensitive to latency and I play at a pro level. I have an iPhone, so I have Airpods Pros for that, so I don't care that they don't work for my iPhone. And if I upgrade to a Pixel or Samsung in the future, the Bluetooth on the Inzone Buds will most likely work, so I'm not worried about it. As for simultaneous Bluetooth, I mostly use these on my PC, so my music is being played through Spotify on my PC and other stuff. And if I receive a phone call, I'm using Phone Link on my Windows 11 PC , so I can take my phone call on the PC using the Inzone Buds that are connected to the PC. So simultaneous Bluetooth is not an important feature to me.

Just found out that you can switch modes on the Inzone earbuds. When using the dongle on the PS5 for the earbuds, you can touch each earbud at the same time to switch to Bluetooth mode. This means if you are gaming and receive a phone call, you can switch to Bluetooth and receive the call without taking out your earbuds. Unfortunately, it will probably only work with Android phones due to the Bluetooth technology.
Thsnks for the information i had a little bit of doubt of buying inzones for that reason but now that you mentioned that feature it seems inzones earbuds are flawless when it comes to gaming earbuds.
Thank you for your honesty you helped me make my decision with the first 10 minutes... 😅 Inzone for the win, when I hear the birds chirping in morning thats my sign to turn the game off... 12hrs plus the connection range was the selling point I don't need to connect to my phone and I don't have a Portal
I was waiting for this video to make my decision. I wanted to get the pulse Explorer so bad . But after watching this video, I’m leaning more to inzone . Plus you can’t even get the pulse at retail price it’s sold out pretty much everywhere.
You are wrong about having to resync when moving to far, they automatically resync. Also with how you said your wear them is also wrong, you dont have them facing straight forward, you have them on an angle facing up so the Playstation logo is flat.
What's your equalizer settings on the Inzone Buds? Mine sound great in game on Ps5 but when listening to the music through my phone the highs are very shrill to the point it's not enjoyable
man thanks to your videos about the Pulse Explores, I bought and loved em, but in the back of my mind I always wanted the Inzone Buds, I finally picked em up yesterday, and man I love em, I like both sets for different reasons, the Pulse Explores are cool if im at work where I need to use the buds on my computer & work phone for phone calls, but the Inzone Buds i like for the noise cancelling and more in depth EQ tuning, and just more feature sets within the app
For someone who games on both PS5 and PC, who generally prefers earbuds over headphones for comfort and hygiene reasons, as well as wanting wireless dongle connectivity with minimal latency, loooong battery life, and decent sound quality for all kinds of media consumption, the Inzone Buds are quite literally the perfect buy. There isn't any other buds out there that comes close to what it has to offer.
This is a great, in depth, and thorough review/comparison. I don't feel anything was missed. We appreciate you. I'm very happy with my Inzone Buds. Still waiting on Best Buy to fulfill my Pulse Explore pre-order...
@@everariasmd6090 I feel you... These gaming earbuds seem to be in some kind of demand tho or Sony are under producing them. I had to wait a couple weeks for my inzone buds as well and that's only because I caught onto it early. If I waited till a week after release I might still be waiting on those to ship
Connect the dongle to the front usb port. It helps A LOT. I had the same issue with the Pulse headphones but after moving the dongle I can walk into the kitchen or grab something from my bedroom without having issues
I bought inzone buds few days ago and i loving it. I have pc and ps5 and it works perfectly. I bought it only for gaming. It has super long battery life and ANC maybe it isn't good enough for outdoor but i'm using it in my home and quality of sound also good enough for gaming. If you think for using this on phone or other devices then it might be unsatisfying.
As an Android user I use them as normal Bluetooth headphones, the dongle is not Bluetooth as the dongle uses a 2.4 GHz. In dongle mode you get 12 hours of full use with all features on and in Bluetooth mode you get a whopping 24 hours of use in full mode with all features on.
I have the pulse buds and the PS remote player, both going back to Sony. The pulse buds are virtually impossible to connect to my PS5. Even after resetting the buds and the dongle, it remains a drama. On the rare occasions that it works, the connection is very unstable and drops out regularly. Since the remote player only works with the PS link, which regularly disappears for a few seconds, this is also returned to Sony. both products are really not worth the money. wait for version 2.0 seems to me to be a wise choice. I bought the buds mainly for the PSVR2 because I think over-ear headphones give too much pressure while playing.
I pre-ordered them as well. I hope they don't have the same connection issues I've had with the Explorers and my PS5. I got the Explorers mainly for the Portal but they even drop connection with that occasionally. I don't get it!?!
I just got the inzone H9’s a few weeks ago. I had been using Astro A50’s which are great. The feature of being able to connect to my MacBook Pro and ps5 at the same time so I can watch you tube or Netflix or use discord and my ps5 at the same time is too good of a feature. You listed 3 -4 reasons I’d prefer the inzone earbuds over the pulse but regardless of price I won’t buy earbuds or a gaming set again for a console that can’t connect to both. Also in case anyone is in the same boat I was. I had my Astro A50’s base station hooked to my Sony tv via optical and the ps5 via usb for the power and maybe sound? Anyway that’s how I made them work instead of using Astro’s dongle that they made when the ps5 came out. I was always concerned I was missing out on some sound stage improvement/sound quality not using the ps5 3d Part of the reason I got the inzone h9’s that and the dual connectivity feature and Black Friday sale. So the verdict is in call of duty mw3 I can’t tell a difference. There is slightly better base response
Man, I love the video I just have a question is that like a debrand wrap on your PlayStation portal to make the sides of it black? If so, is there a way you can point me in the right direction of where I could find something like that
Appreciate that...here is the link Playstation Portal Cover - geni.us/psportalsiliconecover You can also check out my video where I showed a bunch of other necessary accessories you gotta have th-cam.com/video/6E6hqZgTA7k/w-d-xo.html
You can also control the volume of the Pulse Earbuds with the FN button on the Edge Controller. You can not do this with the Pulse 3D headset. All of Playstations 1st party hardware should be compatible like this but it's not. Not a lot of people talk about this feature.
Another consideration would be battery degradation after a year of hard use can effect max charge significantly over long term (12 hrs can turn into 8 or less!) So that could be a huge W for inzone!
Ty man, appreciate the breakdown, as much as the better audio and battery life appeal to me ima have to go with the pulse. I’m glad you were biased and unbiased at the same time, without leaning too hard in 1 direction bc of personal preferences, with likes and dislikes clearly spoken for and against each. Tyvm for the vid, exactly what I was looking for very helpful, hope you have a good day bro!
I have the Pulse explore (dog ate one) and just bought the inzone buds, and the inzone buds are wayyyyyyyyyy more comfortable. The Pulse make the inside of my ear itchy and a bit sore after a couple hours or less, the inzone I can wear for hours and it's comfortable. I don't have LE audio on my Samsung s21 ultra so I have to use the dongle which sucks, but when I upgrade my phone next time then I'll make sure I get one with it. The dual connectivity with the pulse (game and music/phone calls) is nice but to be honest with you not having it, I don't miss it with the inzone. I'm on PC now so the inzone are better, the pulse I wouldn't get if you're not on playstation because you can only adjust the EQ through the PS, where I can use the inzone app on my PC for those buds. Comfort alone it's no contest, inzone all the way, if that's not a big thing for you because you only game an hour at a time and you have mostly PS equipment then the pulse might be a better choice.
You mentioned a.i background noise cancellation and active noise cancellation…what’s the difference between those two features? Also, can you use the ps controller to mute/unmute on both earbuds?
te, fantastic review If I was to choose between the Explores and The Inzones what Should choose which has a good mic, for casual uses like games similar to EAFC, talking to freinds listening to Music and also Compatable with PC?
Glad it stated the sony and PlayStation relationship I was wondering why they dont incorporate their audio technology to PlayStation headphones thanks.
Lets put it this way For overall use (gaming/music/talk) - Inzones But if youre a PS Fanatic where you just want to collect PlayStation accessories, then feel free to buy yourself the PULSE EXPLORES (it offers great overall sound and mic quality) specially if you dont like using a headset but if youre in a dilemma of which of the two? For $50 more than the price of the explores then go get the Inzones hands down
Dope thorough video. The inzones are finally back in stock and I’ve already started to send these explores back to Sony. 😅 The range, the drops, and fit are just as you described. Not great.
I would like to ask if the Bluetooth of INZONE Buds itself is installed on PS5. If I want to add another set of PC Bluetooth receivers to receive INZONE Buds, which product should I buy to be able to receive its signal? Thank you
They work if you have a 15. ACC Bluetooth in iPhones is poor quality anyway and not recommended for gaming as they have currently the worst codec and the delay in the industry.
Oh hey great video but just so you know if you didn’t already find this out but you can directly connect the pulse explorer to the portal and don’t even need to have the dongle plugged in to the PS5 console just give that a try and that by using the pulse connect button on the portal 👍🤩 this way when you are further away from the console your pulse explorer stays connected to the portal for audio sound
There is only one thing I wanna know, the is the inzones latency really that low with the usb dongle? I'm looking for a pair of earbuds for my nintendo switch, but everything I tested so far had horrible latency, the sound was always delayed to the stuff I played
I don't know if this is my problem but I feel that your shouting at the camera. I feel you to bring your volume down on your mic or take your voice down a little. I respect your reviews and tech support for your subscribers on all your products and I'm a long time subscriber.😊
Thanks for the review and I so wanted to get the PS pulse but I'm more into sound quality and at $200 I'll pass until I can find a pair around the $150 range. I like to collect earbuds and so far I have 15 pair. The unusual shape & so called better sounding planar drivers of the pulse is definitely different from my other Buds which really is more of a reason as to why I want them. Great review! This means if you are gaming and receive a phone call, you can switch to Bluetooth and receive the call without taking out your earbuds. Unfortunately, it will probably only work with Android phones due to the Bluetooth technology.
It's really easy and fast to answer calls and then switch back on the Inzone buds, the mic also sounds better on all comparisons.
@@Justmeandmy20cents I totally agree.
For sure...glad I could help!
Thanks for being honest, we appreciate your reviews. ❤
Always 🙏🏾
I was waiting for this video to make my decision. I wanted to get the pulse Explorer so bad . But after watching this video, I’m leaning more to inzone . Plus you can’t even get the pulse at retail price it’s sold out pretty much everywhere.
They’ll be back in stock shortly. The first batch is sold out tho. The inzones just got back in stock this week. Took them a month.
Yeah you changed my mind with that battery life piece!
man thanks to your videos about the Pulse Explores, I bought and loved em, but in the back of my mind I always wanted the Inzone Buds, I finally picked em up yesterday, and man I love em, I like both sets for different reasons, the Pulse Explores are cool if im at work where I need to use the buds on my computer & work phone for phone calls, but the Inzone Buds i like for the noise cancelling and more in depth EQ tuning, and just more feature sets within the app
Wait, the inzone dongle doesn't work if connected to usb c of portal?
Listen just get Inzone don’t fall into that planar and PlayStation link trap, plus inzone are customisable
This is a great, in depth, and thorough review/comparison. I don't feel anything was missed. We appreciate you.
I'm very happy with my Inzone Buds. Still waiting on Best Buy to fulfill my Pulse Explore pre-order...
Thanks fam!🙏🏾
I had to cancel my best buy preorder; after waiting almost 10 days, its ridiculous and had to move on
@@everariasmd6090 I feel you... These gaming earbuds seem to be in some kind of demand tho or Sony are under producing them. I had to wait a couple weeks for my inzone buds as well and that's only because I caught onto it early. If I waited till a week after release I might still be waiting on those to ship
Solid review! Thanks for being so thorough and complete in the comparision.
Thanks fam
AMAZING review ! You really review this from a real gamer point of view. Thank you very much
I also like how you can customize the touch controls on the inzones like I have my left ear bud to control the audio between game chat and voice chat
Do those carry over to the ps5?
Everything you do in the inzone hub saves to the headset. So all customization you do saves to the headset, especially custom touch controls.
@@r0caf3lla23 yes I don’t have a pc
Hello
Can you mix chat/game on PS5 ??
Thank you
Connect the dongle to the front usb port. It helps A LOT. I had the same issue with the Pulse headphones but after moving the dongle I can walk into the kitchen or grab something from my bedroom without having issues
23:48 I highly recommend comply foam tips.
Yea I've been thinking about getting those.
Hello
On PS5 can you mix chat/game ??
Thank you
I don't know if I would use call of duty as a positive reference for a set of headphones
I've had the same issue. Very disappointing. I kept them hoping for a patch.
I cancelled my order for the Playstation Buds and ordered the INZONE buds
You still using inzone ? If yes then how’s it. Especially mic
Pre-ordered the elite so excited so ready for those in February more of a over the ear kinda guy for gaming love the videos love the channel💪
I pre-ordered them as well. I hope they don't have the same connection issues I've had with the Explorers and my PS5. I got the Explorers mainly for the Portal but they even drop connection with that occasionally. I don't get it!?!
Wow, I'm impressed with the details, I smashed the subscribe button immediately/well done.
I was always concerned I was missing out on some sound stage improvement/sound quality not using the ps5 3d
Part of the reason I got the inzone h9’s that and the dual connectivity feature and Black Friday sale.
So the verdict is in call of duty mw3 I can’t tell a difference. There is slightly better base response
Man, I love the video I just have a question is that like a debrand wrap on your PlayStation portal to make the sides of it black? If so, is there a way you can point me in the right direction of where I could find something like that
Appreciate that...here is the link Playstation Portal Cover - geni.us/psportalsiliconecover
You can also check out my video where I showed a bunch of other necessary accessories you gotta have th-cam.com/video/6E6hqZgTA7k/w-d-xo.html
100% here for the vibes! I roll with the Samsung Galaxy Buds2.
Let's go!!! GB2 is definitely legit. I ain't mad at that
You can also control the volume of the Pulse Earbuds with the FN button on the Edge Controller. You can not do this with the Pulse 3D headset. All of Playstations 1st party hardware should be compatible like this but it's not.
Not a lot of people talk about this feature.
For what link does, the range SHOULD be shorter. The wavelength should be super tiny. Edit: no latency comparison?
Another consideration would be battery degradation after a year of hard use can effect max charge significantly over long term (12 hrs can turn into 8 or less!) So that could be a huge W for inzone!
Are the sound quality on either of these is better than the A40s????
Ty man, appreciate the breakdown, as much as the better audio and battery life appeal to me ima have to go with the pulse. I’m glad you were biased and unbiased at the same time, without leaning too hard in 1 direction bc of personal preferences, with likes and dislikes clearly spoken for and against each. Tyvm for the vid, exactly what I was looking for very helpful, hope you have a good day bro!
yo mate can i use Type C to Type A for the usb receiver on inzone buds ? because my pc doesn't have type c port and don't want use Bluetooth.
The AI background noise filter is only for the microphone. It filters out noises like eating chips or dogs barking in the background
te, fantastic review If I was to choose between the Explores and The Inzones what Should choose which has a good mic, for casual uses like games similar to EAFC, talking to freinds listening to Music and also Compatable with PC?
Did you find out which one is better ? I also wanna buy it mainly to talk with friends.
Glad it stated the sony and PlayStation relationship I was wondering why they dont incorporate their audio technology to PlayStation headphones thanks.
For sure
Lets put it this way
For overall use (gaming/music/talk) - Inzones
But if youre a PS Fanatic where you just want to collect PlayStation accessories, then feel free to buy yourself the PULSE EXPLORES (it offers great overall sound and mic quality) specially if you dont like using a headset
but if youre in a dilemma of which of the two? For $50 more than the price of the explores then go get the Inzones hands down
Inzone Buds all the way. Battery lasts x3 times more, using them on PC - PS5 since two months, they are amazing and works flawlessy.
I know I’m late to the game 😅 but I appreciate this honest review. Hopefully will be buy some soon. Leaning more toward the Sony Inzone
Nah you’re never too late. Appreciate you watching! Much love.
Thank you
Thanks for being real my guy love your content.
yessir!!!
Hey bud, may i ask how do you charge you inzone? I just bought one, maybe can i use the fast charger that i use on my S10+ galaxy?
Man where did you get the cover for your Portal? I know it's just black but that looks neat. 👌👌
Another to factor in is the Inzone buds don’t work with iPhone or iOS devices… that sucks…. I had to get the pulse instead
You won’t be disappointed
Fantastic review thank you, can the inzone buds control the mix between game audio and mic audio please?
Yup.
I bought the JBL tune buds and I know those can't control the sound it's low quality on pc ...im wondering if these buds have the same problem
I don't know if this is my problem but I feel that your shouting at the camera. I feel you to bring your volume down on your mic or take your voice down a little. I respect your reviews and tech support for your subscribers on all your products and I'm a long time subscriber.😊
I have the same issue with the Pulse Explore. They disconnect and they don't fit comfortably.
Amazing, thanks broskie. I got my Inzone first and I’m loving it.
Keep up the good work👍🏽.
I have these ps5 earbuds. they work cool but when connected to my portal the volume is EXTREMELY LOW. is there a way to increase it?!
Do you prefer the inzone buds or the inzone h9 ?
Thanks for the review and I so wanted to get the PS pulse but I'm more into sound quality and at $200 I'll pass until I can find a pair around the $150 range. I like to collect earbuds and so far I have 15 pair. The unusual shape & so called better sounding planar drivers of the pulse is definitely different from my other Buds which really is more of a reason as to why I want them. Great review! The Old Man!👨🏾🦲
Hey CK did you ever find out what exactly broke inside your first Playstation portal? If not, I found a video on TH-cam where someone had the exact same problem as you did but they were able to send it to a local repair shop to get it fixed.
hi, sony has just released a new firmware for the inzone buds, do you know if it fixes white noise and bass cancellation with ANC disabled? THANKS
Finally! What we’ve been waiting for!
Fr
Can you do a tutorial on streaming with the inzone earbuds not using PlayStation broadcasting.
I hope they eventually sell extra dongles for the Inzone Buds like they do for the Pulse Explores
Yea that's a good point because I can easily see people losing it.
Im still good with my vr p10 for ps5. Great review
I was wondering how the lossless audio and planar drivers would sound vs inzone. It sounds like it doesn’t make a difference.
You said if you have a Iphone 15 you can connect with the dongle no problem… I bought the Inzones and put the dongle in my Iphone 15 pro max, but it did not find the Inzone buds…. How is that possible?
The EQ for wz inzone buds you sett audio to get more better sound or na?
So do the inzones connect to the iphone 16 pro max i heard that they have LE bluetooth coonection
179 great British pounds for inzone, more features better fit better audio more than double battery life, more range for Bluetooth. Cheers marra made my decision easy
Great video! I'm going with the Inzones.
Inzone's are solid my guy
For me the pulse explores keep disconnecting & reconnecting like every 30 minutes and it's extremely annoying
More like every 5-10 min 😅
We gotta get you a measurement rig for audio : ) Give me a shout.
Sony hasn't made something with good sound quality since 1989 haha
Did you try to connect the Inzone usb c dongle in the play station portal ?????
Yep does not work.
My pc doesn’t have a usb c port can i use a usb adapter and the dongle work ?
