  • Think of this feature like your “co-pilot” for highway driving. When actively engaged with Adaptive Cruise Control with traffic stop and go and Lane Following Assist, this semi-autonomous driving technology helps keep you centered in your lane and travelling at a safe distance behind the vehicle ahead. Not only that, it can also maintain your driving speed at the right level, automatically setting your pace based on GPS and highway data provided via the available navigation system.

This video world have been great if it wasn’t zoomed in on the steering wheel the entire time.

Hi - thanks for this info and here is a comment. I have a 2021 Kia Seltos with the same HDA technology. HDA was of interest to me as well but I haven't been out enough to try it. The Seltos Features and Functions Guide in the US, p. 15, makes it clear that you can set the speed limit BELOW the posted limit (first it says "set to the current federal highway speed", then it says "SCC speed set by the driver (at the posted highway speed limit or slower)." (Navigation Updates are required to expand the use of this.)
Kia Customer Service confirmed this and answered some other questions about how this works: "Yes the Smart Cruise Control feature will adjust the speed in which your vehicle is traveling based upon the speed limit signs and any other signs it may come across such as road work signs etc. The system does use both the cameras and the detection of the road signs to determine speed as well as keeping a safe distance from the vehicles around you. If the vehicle does have to slow down for any kind of road hazards/work then yes it would go back to your set speed when road work is no longer in zone."
(What is really bugging me is the "Keep Hands on Steering Wheel" - that goes off way to often, espec here in CO where we have many long, straight roads, PLUS my hands ARE on the steering wheel. I think the test is for the steering wheel movement left/right, not if your hands are ON the wheel - this is a real pain....)

It is normally in Normal mode and it will change automatically to Ev mode but if you feel like changing it to Sport mode then you have to shift the gear to the Sport mode and the dashboard will change to red colour.
