I'm with Mike. I don't want Randle (or Giddy) for the Pistons. If you're going to make a splash, then we need to look for fit. MPJ is a great fit, and I would be willing to send Ivey & #5 for him, if Denver is looking for salary cap relief.

@@ronaldmcdonald1977 I agree we won't be in the driver's seat. All the other drivers are heading for a salary cap cliff, so our job is to see if we can benefit from them avoiding the cliff. If NO needs to move off of BI or Denver needs to move off of MPJ, then we should be considering packaging Ivey or Duran with the #5 pick for them. May not happen, but we need to atleast offer something reasonable.
I can appreciate the creativity of the first trade proposal. Having said that, I think that New York could be using those two contracts with draft equity to go big game hunting. Durant, Bridges, or Markennen takes the Knicks to true contender status in my book.

That is a lateral trade for the Pistons. It would not move the needle much.
All these panic trades suggestions. A Julius Randle move is the equalivant of Blake Griffin trade. One he's going to want an extension. Randle will be 30 this year. Are you considering those facts? So are the Pistons ready to build a team around a Randle and Cade? Thats a one way trip to mediocrity which is an improvement but its just a band aid move.

Can Randle be gotten cheaper? NY desperate to remove Randle? We will see. New Pistons pres of ops. Excited to see what happen. It's a start. I'm dreaming. Offer has to start somewhere.
As a Knicks fan, I'm thinking it over and it's a no right now. I think it's a fair deal but the Knicks window is only maybe 4-5 more years with Brunson. I know it's crazy or silly to turn down a top 5 pick and a future 2025 pick for Randle who hasn't shown up in the playoffs yet but Randle is still an All NBA player twice over. Would've been three times if not for the dislocated shoulder. His max level deal is only really $45m. The 1st Apron in 2026 offseason is gonna be around $196m. Even if they max out Randle that's still not that much of the cap when you consider Donte and McBride are both on steal value contracts. The Knicks wouldn't get a better team out of this trade only better assets. I don't like that trade for Detroit either. If the trade was to happen I would at least get one of the two 2024 picks back from NY and maybe a sign and trade for Precious. Plus I would ask the Knicks to fork over the protected DET pick back.
If you’re going to Julius Randal, (who is a great talent, although I don’t love his fit in terms of defense and his attitude), why not go get Jerami Grant back. We know Jerami contributes to winning and is strong on both ends of the court.
IMO, I’d go for Ingram or Grant as my second choice
I like Randle because he's got a chip on his shoulder. Kinda like a Ben or Chauncey sorta thing
Ingram getting a 200m extension after the trade doesn't sound good with his injury history.
Randle and Grant would be good depending upon what we give up in the trade.
I like Jermi Grant Back with Detroit. Add him and Malik Monk

Talking bout acquiring Randle for about a week now and id trade the pick for an Allstar @that position! It only works if we can add 2 of those prized Free Agents
This trade is a nightmare for the pistons. That's a hell no!!
Here's the problem once an organization reaches the depths of this one..... Most players are not willing to come here..... except for a few guys who feel unwanted and want any place where they can get minutes to prove themselves..... Problem is the Pistons have no real direction or plan, or training ability.... the present head coach and coaches, and GM and his clan, have had zero success in those areas, and no clear direction for the future has been identified..... The new President has one fookin job ahead of him..... Can he establish a Culture for the Pistons to grow into? ..... .... All I can say to him is.... "Rent a house, don't buy"..........

I wouldn’t say it’s a hurry. He’s heading into year 5. He’s a solid player. But if he can be used to help get an all-star level player on the roster, shouldn’t Detroit consider it?

@@Truthtella The Pistons MUST bring in leadership and basketball players, if that makes sense. This offseason, the Pistons also need to find out if Cade truly LOVES basketball by taking better care of his body.

Pistons fans love every move until they dont work out. Monty had a vision and pushed Defense, Ivey didnt start and every1 got butt hurt. Then every1 wanted Offense, and we got the same crappy results. And now every1 is ok with trading Ivey. LOL. AInt never satisfied.
Monty vision wasnt supported, and like the delusional Owner and GM, yall thought this year Pistons would win at least 30 games. So every1 is looking to blame all the people they praised, until reality sank in.
Pistons is a team full of backups. And yall wanted Monty to work a miracle to support yalls delusional that the team was on the up and up.
