  • In this bonus edition of the Palace of Pistons Podcast, Mike Anguilano, Aaron Johnson, and Jasper Apollonia react to Trajan Langdon agreeing to become the Detroit Pistons new president of basketball operations. Will Langdon keep either of Troy Weaver or Monty Williams? Does hiring Langdon mean trading for Brandon Ingram more or less likely?

It's been reported that Gores is willing to remove Monty regardless of the money. If either is removed, I'd expect Monty would be the first to go.

I'm guessing Weaver getting fired means at least two young guys being traded. Maybe three.

he is a tellum guy, i would say front office is way more safe then coaching staff..yes 1st draft was terrible but imo hayes was a casey pick, n stew stepnoeski guy..its been known weaver was extremely interested in maxey n bane...i think they see this year through, this is what weaver planned for 60 mill cap space ...and weaver did not want monty....the great tom Gore did lol

Quality front offices usually keep their scouting folks around until after the draft and free agent signing period. I'd expect Monty to be fired next week. I'd expect Troy to be fired after the free agent signing period.

THE worst trade they could make is to trade for B.I. after 1st year w lakers the next 7 yrs avg 55 games ayear and in 2025 will ask especially pistons 52 mill a year 4 years...if you think last year was a nightmare lol then get Ingram 52 mill pay cade 40+ and have them both avg 55-60 games

I've been a Pistons fan since Bing/Lanier days, so I've seen periods of greatness and seasons mired in mediocrity. Now, in the last several years...under Weaver as GM (arguably at odds with others within the power structure)...the Pistons appear to be the worst team in professional sports. It breaks my heart to admit that I have no hope for this franchise that I have faithfully followed for my entire life. If they are, in fact, just adding one more cook to a power structure that seems to already have too many cooks in the kitchen, the what is the point? If Weaver is still there making decisions, then I am no longer a fan of this team.

He checks all the boxes as an elite level defender. If Cade is Our Offensive Maestro, then it would be wise to have someone like Ausar to lock down opponents top scorer. He also does all the little things right on offense other than outside shooting.
