The Jazz were tanking. LM was healthy enough to play in a lot of those games.

@@Newportnews98 Clearly you say things first without verifying. He actually started 66 games last year and 61 the year before that. He obviously has an injury history but my point is the Jazz have been tanking the last several years. They were actually winning more games than they wanted to so they started shutting players down more to increase their draft odds.

I think Kuminga could be a really good player, I just don’t know if he thrives in the Warrior system. It might be best for him if he’s not on this team with Steph. But he is a valuable player that definitely got better in this system. I wish we could know his true feelings on if he wants to play this style and be happy.

Lauri is just a 7 feet 3 point shooter. He doesn't play like a big. Everybody wants him because he shoots 3 and is bigger. But he can't rebound, he can't defend, do you really think he can rotate in defense as fast as kuminga? Lauri can't even pass, and in the warriors motion offense, you need guys that can run and rotate and pass, lauri doesn't give you any of that. Plus he is often injured. What are you going to do if he missed 20 games? Who is going to help steph if you trade Kuminga? Kuminga is younger and this next season if giving the minutes him and Moody are going to be way better next season. Plus they already have a 7 footer in post that can shoot the 3, and is better rebounder, better defensive player and way better passer than lauri. Lauri is just a 1 time all star, and because he is in a team that he is the only real scorer. Put him in a one of the elite team. He is just a 20 point scorer and at 27 he is not going to be way better. Kuminga and Moody and TJD are going to be way better.

NIce opinion! but! All the experts feel different he doesnt excell in one area but he is decent.cant rebound he averages 8 which is higher and one of JK weaknesses. Blocks at 7 feet protect the paint better than a 6'7, in the West particular against Lakers James and company use him up in the paint.

JK, is 6'6 more mobile out in the perimeter, LM, can defend better at 7'1 be able to defend more in the paint especially helping out others which is the biggest minus for the Warriors. Every team offense is to attack and so far Jk, hasn't been able to lift them up even with Kerr not believing in him. Neither JK, or LM is going to guarantee a Chip but opinion here it would make them more well rounded and end all the drama and speculation.
There are too many downsides to go after Markkanen. Stand pat and look for someone else even if you gotta wait until the trade deadline in February

He's ready to do what? Put up nice numbers on a lottery team, sorry seen that story before and it rarely ends well? All the people coming for Kuminga to get traded, will be silent as church mice, when he thrives with a coaching staff dedicated to developing young talent. Something Steve Kerr failed to do with Kuminga.
Not to mention GM Danny Ainge, also ask for a out a decade worth of draft capital as well. The Warriors depth will be depleted, and they'd still be a play in team.

And Lauri is young, freakishly efficient, and an excellent fit. Kuminga is no sure thing to be the next Jaylen Brown... Even if JK develops in a few years, would Kuminga be THAT much better than Lauri is right now? Money-wise, they could soon cost the same. I'm still waiting for the James Wiseman development committee - to come out of their mouse houses...

I keep hearing people talking about "waiting" on his development, when he's already done more with less than most prospects in the league.
He's been developing mostly on his own, as Kerr doesn't really run plays for him, and will yank him inexplicably when he's cooking, and he's yet to give him an established role, so he has to create for himself.
The Dubs were better with him in the starting lineup. And speaking of maximizing Steph and Draymond's time. When Kerr finally gave Kuminga consistent minutes guess what happened? During that stretch guess who was the highest scoring duo in the league? STEPH AND KUMINGA.
and guess which duo was carving up defenses like Lob City as well? DRAYMOND AND KUMINGA.
And guess which player said Kuminga had every to be upset, when Kerr pulled him from a game they were winning?
STEPH CURRY.
Guess who said Kuminga would be dropping 20 a night if he played on a team that have him decent minutes? STEVE KERR.
And you're out of your mind if you think Danny Ainge won't ask for not just Kuminga, but other young assets, and draft picks over the next 5 or 6 years. And you're adding a player who's all but guaranteed to miss 20+ games to a team that's already old, with little to no depth after you pay him.?

The only way the Warriors trade Kuminga is if they are getting a Super Star player back in return for Kuminga and Draft Picks. Ala (Giannis, Embiid, KD, players like that). Don't get a Super Star player back in return don't trade Kuminga.

I'm in the camp that if Utah wants to get something of value for Markkanen, they can have Wiggins, Moody, and three 1st rounders (one of which would be protected). Anything more than that, and I'm out.
If the point of that move is to make the Warriors BETTER, then you have to keep your young phenom, even if you think he's just phenom POTENTIAL. You need to add talent, not subtract one talented piece for another. At that point, you're just shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.
Also, I have two things to say about Shasky and Steiny's stance. On Steiny's, the whole "19 wins is different than 46" may be valid to you, but to Steph Curry, missing the playoffs is missing the playoffs. Steph wants a shot, or multiple shots at another title, so missing the playoffs REGARDLESS of our win total is a failure in his mind. Plain and simple.
You also don't know in 3 years that the Warriors will for sure be a lottery team even if Steph fades. Maybe Kuminga would've turned into an all-star by then, maybe you drafted another great scorer to pair with him, or maybe TJD, Podz, Post, and those guys became really good players around him, and at least kept the team in the hunt. All of those things are still very possible. And even if NONE of that happens, I won't be mad at the Warriors for sticking with, not just the greatest player in your franchise's history, but one of the top 10 players of all time.
I'm much more with Bonta and Gu on the fact that Steph is a very different case than any other great player right now because, other than LeBron, he's a certified icon and top 10 guy in my mind. Those guys may not come around again for 50 years, so you do what you can to take full advantage of their time while they're in your jersey. I'm sorry, but nobody is blaming the Lakers for paying Kobe even when he was a shell of his former self there at the end. What Steph has done for this franchise is BEYOND monetary value, and its sad that "die hards" like Shasky can't see that

We dont need a lesser version of both who also isn’t an consistent shooter. Can’t have 3 inconsistent shooters. Kerr’s already said he doesn’t like having Dray Wiggs and Kuminga out there at the same time. Lauri is a much better fit with shooting and will be a more reliable second option than the current kuminga
