I like all are young core but if they had to move on from somebody probably Isiah Stewart or Jalen Duren …..not Ivey or Thompson
Appreciate the pod. I don’t think the POBO should consider the fans at all in any decision making. It’s all about doing what’s right to bring this franchise back to being a sustainable contender. It’s about Cade and building around the young guys by getting good vets who allow everyone to play to their strengths in their proper role.
If the Pistons believe Cade can influence the game to a shade of what Doncic is doing, then the blueprint is clear. If Ausar can't shoot, he is not the guy. Rim runners and rangy two way wings playing off the creators that I believe Cade and Jaden can be.
No, dont trade Duren. Hes 20 and will be a stud. The last thing we need is another drop coverage center.
He can't guard you. And regardless of scheme every team needs their centers to not be catastrophically dogshit on the defensive end.
A drop coverage center is better than no coverage center.
And who says we would have to replace him with a drop coverage center?
No way am I trading Duren. He’s only 20 and an absolute stud rebounding who can score and is a constant lob threat with Cade.
His defense can get better but the entire team is awful at playing defense. I’m sure Duren can learn solid defense with better coaching.
There are several issues with the team currently as constructed, Duren’s defense is so far down the list of things we need to focus on or fix.
Can you name a single big in history who went from as horrible as he is now on defense to being good enough to anchor a championship contender?
Because those of us who are dubious basically fear Drummond 2.0, and if that's how this turns out he will simply never be a starting-caliber player on a team that is trying to win instead of tank.
Do you actually think Duren will become an All Star caliber player?
If yes it will be hard to trade him for equal value because that's a steep mountain to climb.

Did Langdan leave the pelicans or is he just the boss on every damn team? 😂 I didn't expect to ever hear that name again after graduation but here we are. Is there a Duke player other than J Will that's not an executive right now? Maybe Battier will work for Miami soon.

weaver had to go!! i hope monto too!! if they keep monty for fiance reason then i would explore trades for ivey,stew,duren n even auser...because monty is not too good w young guys...and i would NOT package all of them for Someone like KAT Just a example but trades like stew n 5th for keldon Johnson n 8th pick...trades that dont eat too much of your cap space..taj Gibson sitting on bench was our best coach and did more for team in sample size then monty n coaches did in 82games lol

I can see this team only winning 25 games and still being bottom 3 if all we do is sign players like Kyle Anderson and continue to let the young guys grow. I'd like to see us go after a semi all star to pair with Cade. If we can't get that player then we need to go after guys like Monk, Claxton to push all the young guys to the bench and let them earn their roles.
I mean, that is very likely going to happen no matter what. It is the worst roster in the NBA, they are very far behind because they employ the very worst GM who has ever lived.

So Cade, Trae Young or something similar. Then we have Ausar and maybe 40 million in cap for FA? Maybe a little more if we sign enough minimum contracts?

@@Mr.Nyashty I have Stew rated to high for such a trade but many Pistons fans and even more local media consider him just another random backup center. They might do such a trade for Hero.

You just built a team that would win LESS THAN the fourteen games they won this year.
So what would you do
Do not evaluate Duren or Ivey until Monty Williams is gone.
Trade Ivey for Ingram, then sign Nic Claxton and Malik Monk and bring in a coach who's going to push these guys to play defense and hold players accountable.
I still don't understand why anyone would want Ingram's next contract.

I like him because hes proven to be a winner.
He took a team with 19 wins, and previously 3 different coaches in 3 years, and he turned that 19 win team into a 34 win team.
The team was full of rookies, and Booker and a 7 year vet in Aaron baynes who wasnt even a starter.
He turned that team around ASAP.
He added Chris Paul the next year and got to 51wins as a year 2 coach.
He was fired, and then they fired the next coach the next year. Monty was the most stable coach that team had for the last 10 years.
They was expecting a miracle after decimating his team with trades for Kevin Durant.

Dwayne Casey and Monty coaching resume was hurt by joining the Pistons.
Casey barely avg 20 wins once Griffin left, and at least had a vet in Jerami Grant, Kelly Olynk, Cory Joseph and Dialo.
