I hired for a very small business, where we all worked in a family environment and having a photo on a resume was a HUGE value to me because if I saw a smile, I looked further. If no smile, I trashed it.
I agree. He answered my question in a very simple and professional manner. I should have known. Including pictures is becomming more common in the USA, but I still do not think it should be relevant to the hiring process. Too many businesses are hiring based on gender, looks, color, and pride clan membership rather than experience and qualifications. Including a picture will just accelerate the process for myself to not be chosen.
When someone put a photo in their resume ....my automatic intinuition would be that the person will be very narcissistic , lazy and will depend on their looks to get their work done ....A Big No No
That's a very faulty and unfortunate thought-process. It's overreaching to say that people who include their photo on their resume are narcissistic! Says more about you than the candidates.
@@albussd can an u*ly person or unattractive person put their pic in their resume . So the candidates are well aware of their looks and using that as an easy pass to get hired ....we all know how that works in the long run who solely depends on their looks to get short cut success ....those are the same people eventually will try to charm bosses without any hardwork , skills ....cmon we seen it all ....don't be so naiive
@@zackbrown5201 You just completely failed to understand my comment. I'm not saying that candidates who put in their photos are okay/not okay. I'm criticizing your perspective and conclusion of calling such candidates lazy and narcissistic. Understand the difference. Did the possibility not occur to you at all that there may be thousands of candidates who are not at all narcissistic and lazy, and may simply be following the trend/expectations of the job world? That adding a photo is simply another step while making their resume? What gives you the right to boldly judge them as narcissistic and lazy? I shudder at the thought of the likes of you becoming recruiters.
@@albussd cmon don't be so naiive...we all know how good looking people use looks as their leverage to climb the ladder ....nothing wrong with that ....but we all know how it turns out to be in long run ....they will be short skilled ....become lazy and narcissistic. Bear in mind slow success builds character & fast success builds ego . Also we all know about the creepy recruiters ...why they hire attractive people 🤔
@@zackbrown5201 How attractive a person is can also work against them. I liked photos because I was going to be working the with the person. I wanted to hire a real person and seeing them in a photo added one more connection. On the flip side to that, I would be less likely to hire a very attractive person in order to avoid my wife being upset..
