God you can tell that the reimagining of the classic XCOM soundtrack was a labor of love. It just oozes the same passion Jake had when modernizing this franchise.
There's so many bangers in the TLP ost, but this one is just SO good it stands out, hard. You actually feel GOOD goosebumps when it hits. Like you can do anything!
All of the tracks are great, but this one makes me so hyped whenever I get into a fight... or run into 3 pods of (spoilers) enemies with an avatar each.
Pure awesome. In my last playthrough, i'm using lot of mods. One of my favourite is Infiltrator class. Sword close combat with pistol as main weapon. Imagine fully developed agent with close combat perk, automatic engagement with sword, fan fire and faceoff. Horde of zombies, and groups of advent/aliens. Total chaos and my infiltrator shooting every visible target with pistol with faceoff perk. And this soundtrack.
A lot of these sound like Tiberian Sun to me. Anyone getting a similar vibe? (Also I love this one in particular for including the Stage 2 base theme from Enemy Unknown.)
Geckofrog nah, tib sun went for a much more ambient, desolate theme that really conveyed that shit was getting desperate for the planet. The TLP is just much more 80s cheese action and reworking of the ufo defence tracks.
That is because these retro tracks are based off the X-Com games prior to the 2012 reboot. For example, parts of this one are a reimagining of UFO Defense's main theme.
As epic as the battlescape remixes are, i cannot help but be a bit sad that there isn't anything in them at all that gives a nod to the original battlescape theme

Well said sir, this is glorious
It felt to me like the same love Gollop dedicated to UFO, and Laser Squad before it.
When this track played during the trailer I knew this shit was going to be fire.
Best encounter/battle music
0:00 - 0:27 In concealment, no contact
0:28 - 0:55 Enemy patrol encountered
0:56 - 1:14 Concealment broken, both sides take cover
1:15 - 1:32 ADVENT turn, no casualties
1:33 - 1:51 X-Com turn, enemies eliminated
1:52 - 2:10 X-Com squad advances cautiously
2:11 - 2:28 Powerful unit activated (Sectopod, Gatekeeper, Andromedon)
2:29 - 2:38 Scramble for cover
2:39 - 2:56 ADVENT turn, X-Com takes heavy fire
2:57 - 3:15 X-Com turn, heroic reversal
3:16 - 3:20 Mission accomplished
Loved this
God this is so epic. I almost see it in front of my own eyes :D
Workman Recently I got a similar situation with the same OST
Thank you, Commander.
Best track in the Legacy Pack imo.
You know shit got real when this kicks in.
Definitely one of the best.
It’s the best with resistance thing
Hands down.
There's so many bangers in the TLP ost, but this one is just SO good it stands out, hard.

2:55
Is definitely my favorite part. It's weird to say but it has lot of emotion going on in that part.
All you had to do was secure the damn train Bradford!
Best track love this 80's style
This track always come on when shit hits the fan
Thank you! These new tracks are amazing.

Man, feels even better when playing an Ace that reaps the lives of every known ADVENT enemies possible, even modded ones. With that soundtrack.
**muffled ayylmao in the distance**
This sounds like something you hear on Toonami to hype for the next episode of your favorite shows.
Make a 10hr version pls, I will listen to only this for my entire workday! Every email I send is like a shot at Advent!
Right click the video and press "loop" - then it will carry on playing even after 10 hours =)

@@DinnerForkTongue No one is immune to HR sir. Nice try. Now please step into my office.
My favourite soundtrack.
5:20 this is what the strength of infallible human resistance sounds like
This shit slaps so damn hard.

@@Topaz74205 I swear I recognize part of 0:37 and onwards though up until it becomes 80's cheese.
Geckofrog Errrrr, I myself cant quite pin the track it would be similiar to... Best i could think of would be If it was a more energetic Valves.
It's closer to the style Frank Klepaki had for Red Alert 2 than the Tiberium games. Retro futuristic with hints of industrial.
@@geckofrog9359 Sorry about the late reply, but I'm 90% sure you're thinking of the Metroid theme! th-cam.com/video/mM7X-HsmWb4/w-d-xo.html
Some parts of the song give me X-COM Apocalypse vibes for some reason. i guess it's the 80's feel that it has.

For some Reason this track in particular gives me Metroid vibes
When this comes on in Long war you know shit got real fast
Sounds more like X-COM apocalypse remastered soundtrack to me. Especialy at beggining
As epic as the battlescape remixes are, i cannot help but be a bit sad that there isn't anything in them at all that gives a nod to the original battlescape theme
I'd have loved if the original battlescape tune was the "calm" version of these songs. Because these combat tunes I wouldn't change _for the world._
Classic didn't really have a theme for its battle maps. You'd have to dip into Terror From The Deep.
0:28 Got some ADVENT here!
This is the best track on the DLC
Only way these uploads could be improved is if you alternated the XCOM and ADVENT turn versions.
Does anyone knows how to rip that music from a game? Advent turn is really missing off original ost.
Wtf is doom's soundtrack doing here?
Since when is Doom's OST a synthwave mix?
@@DinnerForkTongue they do share similarities, ive also had the same feeling
