    Great video - i just bought a scooter and just found why the bike cuts out sometimes / wasn't turning on. Opened up the scooter to get to the spark plug and saw it was hanging loose.
    Thanks for recognising and sharing this video.

    First my vino kept dying at stop lights ...then hit a bump and wouldn't start at all...i.am no mechanic but I checked the basics...air..fuel..fire...spark plug cap looked on...but was not!..thanks for video making us aware!-!!!🛵😃

    Yeah my GY6 based flying machine paramotor had an engine failure cos the cap came off. Caused me a big inconvenience half a mile up

    Thanks. Cool. These small scooters bounce around a lot. Much more than an auto with shocks.
    Next time I change spark plugs, I will see how hard or easy to pull that boot off. If too easy, I now know how to fix it. $ saved.

    You can just get a champion plug, those dont need i cap om the spark plug.
    The ngk design does need one on the spark plug tho.

    Hey Chris so I've put the little screw back on spark plug and it's secure but I had a little piece of lead and a spring fall out the spark plug cap. Do I just put them back in and then screw it into it

      Yes it needs them to work. If its rusty clean it with some sand paper.

    You can remove that rubber off the boot making it easier to access

    I have a spark but problem is that spark is to small or too low if you know what i mean .....

      Could be a loose connection or the pickup coil Is weak or the cdi is going out. How do you know the spark is low? I would start with a new plug and make sure you gap it to what the plate in the bike says below the glove box. Let us know what you find out.

      Scooters have cvt they don't use tranny fluid.

      Remove plug in rear of engine case drain while engine is warm ..fill with recommended fluid in manual it will say how much and what type you need ...

      @@chriss4365 what would cause it to shut off on low idol I have to have the idol pretty high for it to stay running when i let off the gas. I cleaned the carb replaced the plug and Set the valves could it be the plug wire ?

      It was 1 of the hoses coming out of gas tank. It was clogged. Thx anyway

      Its burning oil. Either worn piston rings or too much oil in cranks case. If its a 2 stroke you added too much oil to the fuel.

    What kind of scooter was it? My brother has a 2012 Zuma 125 and swears he is missing that top screw on piece that usually comes on a typical plug. I know he’s wrong tho 🤣

      Their is a piece that unscrews on the top of the plug exposing the threads you need them for that wire to grab onto. Some plugs have that thing screwed on its meant for a different type of boot. My bike was a sunny 150cc they are all pretty much universal the brand name doesn't really matter all same parts.

    I made a way easier fix just chop off the boot and shim some wire out wrap it over the wire a hair and plug it on the plug works great been running mine like that for awhile now

      @@chriss4365 he was probably stuck on the side of the road thinking his valve nuts vibrated loose or something, when it was really just his spark plug boot falling off. This video is one of the most useful scooter videos on TH-cam. Thank you

    You just screw on the metal part that goes onto the Plug Thread!!!!!THAT makes the plug wire/cap fit tightly.

      @@FRANK87car never seen a scooter that can use that cap that's only in cars. As i show in the video there is a small piece of wire that grips the threads on the top of the plug if you put that cap or whatever its called on the plug it will not fit inside the boot and there are no threads for that wire to grab onto.

      @@FRANK87car That must be a rare case because all scooters i've worked on have the small wire inside the boot that grips the threads on the top of the spark plug so that cap cant be used. These are chinese scooters all the same parts yours might be from a different country and there fore better made parts and different parts.

      How will buying a poorly designed cap help? You have to modify them. None of them clamp on the plug hard enough. You have to adjust the clip so it will hold onto the plug.

      @@chriss4365 I’ve been riding two strokes and four strokes for 30 years and had a loose cap once. I put a new one on as when they get loose the rubber housing is probably perished anyways. 😉
