Lol good deal man . It was crazy when I seen it pull gas back out the carb ! U should see the animals stuff I find . Acorns mice rats . Snakes . I could start a animal show too
I started having this problem after 5 years of owning a Jinlun 50cc scooter. I changed the carburetor, fuel filter, fuel lines, spark plug, and changed the air filter. It would still bog down. I even tested to see if gas was flowing and it was coming through pretty good. The problem is a lack of combustible air when fuel enters the engine. Regular air just isn't good enough anymore for these aging chinese scooters. So I spray a quick burst of starting fluid through the air filter black pipe before I start up. You might have to do it a second time in cold weather. After that it runs with no problem for the rest of the day. So keep a can of starting fluid on you at all times.
Gas cap yes , yes, yes I have changed carbs played for 2 week but never did rule out the cap, I did remove it and bam it’s runs, mine only ran for about two minutes with the issue but we are good now. I do have idling issues but it’s small potatoes. Blowing out the cap with air pressure worked Thanks for the info.
Found this video while I was working on my mikuni carb on a Polaris sportsman. After cleaning and messing and adjusting the carb this video solved my stalling starving for gas problem. Thanks for posting this. 4 years old and still relevant.
@@WaldensWorld I'm having the same problem out of my 2022 vitacci spark 150 cc I had just left from filling it up and put gas cap on good and tight pulled out headed back to work and got about 75 ft and it just died on me like it wasn't getting any gas you think this could fix my problem??
Problem solved bad gas cap this is a relative new new scooter first time I drove it I had the problem it never dawned on me that it would have bad gas cap. Finally it started quitting in a 1/2 mile or so and I tried everything. After seeing your video changed the cap with new one from amazon a $ 7.00 fix and runs like a clock. This video was a life saver!!!!!!
Your scooter doesn't have a fuel pump, it is gravity fed. It does have a fuel shut off valve which shuts the fuel supply off if you wreck and the engine dies, the valve loses vacuum and closes therefore preventing gas from leaking out and catching fire, at least that is the theory behind it.
Because the pulsation cause pressure I’m gonna call it a pump this one don’t let fuel just run out some do ! I’ve seen both !! U got me thinking now if the ones that just flow do indeed shut off with back pressure from misfire backfire ? Hmm I know the carb has a valve to close the diaphragm! Thanks for the information and you are correct some do just let fuel flow !
Ah man it does it it's vacuum and floats kids .you have no shut off valve. You have a pepcock similar to a suction pump. Motor cranks ,lil suction pump sucks and pulls the diaphragm in opening the gate for gas to exit final port.so gravity no because honestly he just said the gaskets and gas cap not sealing interrupts the proper seal for the vacuum and gas lines and vacuum lines needed to be replaced. So listen and hopefully you have a really tough job and you tough it through It makes us better 😊
Good info, vacuum petcocks are the other culprit if it's not the gas cap vent. Float bowl overflow hose should be open on one end too. I have seen that routed incorrectly causing a similar problem.
I'm pretty sure this is my problem too. I bypassed the the vacuum shut off and it still does it with a new carb spark plug and valve adjustment. I can't wait to try it when I get home.
Took me few hours to figure it out lol it was at 2 bikes shops before I got it ! Some times you just have to stop step back n think for 24 hours also ! It’s one of my rules if I come across something tricky n I’m in deep deep to think right !
new scooter only 100 miles, parked up for 2 weeks, covered because it was raining, now starts up but boogs down when riding 50 feet, will try gas cap cure soon, GREAT VIDEO BUDDY
Wow thanks for the vid! I've been trying to fix a Gomoto 170cc for a friend that was bogging constantly. I tuned the float a bit before realising it ran better with the Electric choke disconnected, after a quick zip up and down it seemed like it would run great until the electric choke needed to kick in. I have little to no experience with scooters and the whole electric Choke and vacuum petcock is new to me. After replacing the electric choke it would run great for a few km (South African😂) I thought it was due to the engine warming up and not running right, I was thinking mechanical. If I lift it onto the centre stand it revs out perfectly, ie no weight on the back wheel. I'll try the fuel cap in the morning and see what she does. Awesome video, very educational! 100% subbing💪
There are two jets in carb the main right in the middle it’s bigger one and secondary one the smaller one next to it ! It may need cleaning I use the smallest guitar string t clean the jets ! Also check the air vent line is clean n clean we have muddobbers that make mud nests in our stuff not sure if you got insects like that ! N the exhaust valves get tight after they get old n hot on some scooters just few things to check
Dang, I had this issue with a chinese scooter that I got last year. I did everything I could think of to get it to run right. But it still happened. I threw the scooter away though after just figuring it was chinese junk. I still have the motor though, I wonder if I can use it on something now that I know whats going on.
My scooter died today. Dunno what happened. I filled it with gas, kickstarted it with no problem but after 1 km it just turned off and the dude behind me hit me in the back. Nothing serious just few scratches here and there.. Afterwards I was trying to start it for 1 hour and it wont start 😥
Did you get water in gas or spark loss . Drain screw by front left part of motor has a tube with spring around it attached to the kick start case . Flat head screw driver will open it to drain . I use a cup to catch gas n you can check for water ! Then check spark let me know
My cap gas was broken (Yamaha zuma) so i being driven without gas cap i just put plastic bag temporarily and my motorcycle start but shut down after few secend what i need to do . I already ordered gas cap is coming in 1 week.
Check gas for water ? It rain on your scooter! There drain hose on case in left front side we’re kick start is with a screw in the end open it see if u hot water in gas first !!
@@Robertodicartlos chech the drain so u know carb has gas then pull gas line off carb make sure fuel pump works, check spark plug also ! Drain fuel in clear gas see if it separates from carb water on bottom gas on top ! If u has water in carb it may idle , but when you pull throttle it pull fuel from bottom if there is water it dies when pulling throttle! N holler back
I widened the channels in my gas cap and that made some improvement, however once the tank gets to about 1/4 full it starts having the same issues again, (my scoot doesn't have a fuel pump, but is gravity fed), it pulls the gas out of the filter quicker than the filter can refill. one idea I've been toying with is getting a really huge filter, like the kind used on trucks, and swapping it in there in the hopes that it will act kind of like a secondary tank any opinions would be appreciated. thanks.
Does your scooter run but hesitate sounds like carb float is stuck open to use that much gas ! Check that all lines are clear ! You may have a pick up straw in tank getting clogged too !
@@WaldensWorld Thanks for responding, man. to be honest I wasn't sure you would due to this thread being pretty old. I went ahead and completely overhauled the carb, and indeed there was an issue with the float valve, but not due to a failure in the carb per se. it was my fault. it was due to the seat bucket hitting the top of the enricher and getting partially stuck. so I rotated the carb till it was clear and I think that over time it knocked the float valve out of waak. once I re positioned the cab again, it ran fine, but I had to modify the seat bucket carb cover a bit to get it to close with ought hitting the enricher. anyway long story short, I did manage to fix the problem. I have another Q, after reading your response I got to thinking that maybe there was an additional prob with the tank. I have never worked on one before and I'm assuming the pick up straw is inside where the outlet is. any further advise you care to give on that subject would be greatly appreciated. by the way.., you got a new sub!!
@@jacklarson6281 most the scooter tank just have spout going out no straw aka inline filter in the tank ! It can get clogged ! Now if you had a bad gas cap n tank created pressure it will push gas out ! But only till pressure equalized ! I usual just buy new carbs there less than $20 n the cheap China crap is usual a bigger headache to try to fix ! I always keep new on hand scooters and pit bikes ! Holler if I can help anymore I’ll do my best n hope u subscribed braaaaap
I may have this problem but probably not having to do with the fuel line. 9 mile trip to work, and i dunno if scooters Love or hate having their air filters removed. Weird sound comes from the carb and loses power and then off. Still starts tho but its tiresome and not sure how to diagnose this, 1989 Honda Elite 50 e
You may have a tight intake valve ! Is it backfires from carb ! After metal warm it expands so if your close on clearance n it heats up it may cause it to open causing low pressure to pull fuel n it will pop out carb if valve is not sealed chech intake n exhausted valves for clearance
It also has a vacuum fuel pump you can just run straight line from tank to carb to check it ! Sometimes the diaphragm in it will break n cause issues! It’s usaly a little round deal size of half dollar follow carb line to find it ! You can pull the hose off the intake boot n see if it has gas coming out it should be dry ! But I’m thinking valves
@WaldensWorld out of everyone I'm seeking answers from it seems you're pretty familiar with this stuff even after 5 years 😄. Absolutely helpful information, I know NOTHING about Japanese or Chinese scooters. Any way I can reach out for anything else you let me know where i can get in touch, I'll check these out
Today after watching some videos about vacuum lines. So I checked mine. I found one really bent badly. It was coming the Valve cover it was Forward of manifold. So cut and reattached there. But it ran back to a different 3way. One line toward airfilter and then back to end of bike on top of housing were belt is located and were gear oil is. Can you understand me, if so place and explain it to me. Thank you. Ps I changed the gas cap.
Scooter . Hay your secondary jet may be clogged also in too of carb the metal cap has diaphragm n needle if your needle is adjustable you may try dropping in one slot ! Or up one also ! Let me know Maurice ! Good luck
Haven't watched the video but sometimes carb jets are just corroded or too dirty to even clean or best case scenario your carb has a little water in it and all you have to do is drain a little bit of gas/water from the bottom
Yep everything happens eventually! But hay watch the video n possibly learn something it applies to all atvs scooter motorcycle ect ! Thanks for comments n no watch lol ???
cleaned the carb on a minarelli 50cc engine 2t.(aerox) vents are ok, tried the gas cap but nothing. if you ride it and stop .. keep dying. cant hold the idle nomatter the screw settings on carb. i'm goin mad... thinking about crankshaft seals... is it possible to have air leaks? it dont raise rpm on idle. you can ride it but you cant stop.. it keeps dying. also e choke disconected cause when it works you cant start the scooter. thanks for the info bro
Is it two stroke ? N did you take the choke out ? You will need it in there! If the motor is good n say carb is let’s look at the rear clutch and variatior! If your rear clutch sticks the belt will stay in high gear and it will stall engine when slowing it’s like trying to start off in 5th gear ! Are your variatior roller still round they get flat wore side and wil cause variatior to stick ! ! Since it’s when your stopping I’d check these things
@@WaldensWorld echoke is on, but i disconected it cause everytime the pin goes down , engine stalls. i just unpluged it and it worked fine. rollers are new(5.5 grams stock weight..i also have 4 gr on hand)..i have changed the belt with a new one but ... its 5mm longer than the stock one and the width is 2mm wider(i put them side by side and reliazed it..its not the same as stock). do you think this is the cause..the longer belt with the stock clutch...
now i have another problem! changed carb with a dellorto 17.5. everything was good. when i started driving.. after 2 miles full throttle...scooter dies. i must wait 2-5,10 mins then it start again. i keep going for a mile then ...dies again... any idea? stock main jet was 58 and fit a 70, cause at 58 the scooter keep revving by its own.. is it the gas cap? seem to me ok. mine its a plastic cap with pinhead opening. mine has a fuel petcock..that from one side has a tube that take the air from carb and then it release fuel from the other tube. seems to flow fine.
Is that a JonWay 150? I have the same freaking scooter!!!!! Thanks for the info I run the PCV to the port to the gas tank so it’s getting positive pressure in the gas tank maybe that’s why mines flooding out?
Hi Rusty Nuckles, though this might be posted 7 months ago, may I know if you have fixed your motor issue? I have the same problem and have done all the cleaning but still no success.
Check vacuum lines check crank case breather vent , check gas tank vent ! Air filter ! N is it smoking bad fouling plugs our . Crank case seals when going bad will mess up a two stroke running abilities also !
Im praying mine is the same issue🙏🏽Ive spent days on this and done everything imaginable; I even drilled a new hole in the cylinder for a larger spark plug as I stripped the thread of the other; having removed it 100 times during the last three days🤣I've checked and stripped down everything; except the "gas tank cap" 🤣 To be continued...
I just got out of bed as I cant wait til morning to see how the gas tank cap looks like... Its got no air vent in the cap and it fits and seals well; its just a random cap from local mechanics here 🤣Tomorrow I'll vent the cap somehow and report back... 🙏🏽
🤣🤣🤣 f**king filler cap. The scooter never died on the test run so this problem is solved 🙏However I still have an issue. The bike seems to miss a beat every 100m +/- or so. It could be electrical or fuel related given the symptoms. I’ve changed the spark regulator, and spark plug. Cleaned the carburetor and new air filter. It’s almost as if there’s a loose battery power lead or a short happening as I ride. So I’ll check leads and cables next. It’s an old 150cc Moto1 fat boy. It’s my girlfriends. It’s done a lot o miles too. No idea how many 🤣. But it’s been reliable and easy to work on so I’m happy to make the effort to fix it. Any ideas most welcome 🙏
I litterwly just bought myself a yamaha jog 1996. When I first got it I gave it a test run and everything was fine. The next day I take it to work (15 minute drive) and I noticed it would be all fine then randomly slow down and act like it's going to turn off. Then starts speeding up again. I don't know much about mopeds, got me this one for summer time and as a little project. Guy told me it was a recently rebuilt but I highly doubt it..
Yes since it’s old I would check fuel ! And if it’s getting hot compression if it needs a rebuild as engine warms up it may lose power ! Is smoke white or black ? Does it run fine after sitting! Also those have a reed cage I’d check it for leak ! Let me know!
I got it 2 days ago trying to get it checked by tomorrow.. no leak doe I'm keeping it inside my house until I get chain's haha.. It is 2 stroke but oil and gas is fine. I heard it could maybe be spark plugs but i really dont knoe. For now its kick to start sense i bought it without a battery. But I don't think that's a big deal towards what's going on
Hello! I have a Buddy 50 cc scooter. It runs great except for sometimes it hesitates a little in the sense that it will turn off at strange times when I am going lower speeds or it will not turn on.. In order to get it to turn on I carry a little screw driver and carb cleaner and I will take off the air filter cover and spray the intake with carb cleaner and put it back on. Then I go to start and it starts VERY good. It was just brought to a shop who charge like $200+ for a carburetor cleaning and spark plug replacement. The shop is called Boca Scooters… I am NOT convinced that they did honest work but I don’t know know for sure. I would like to have it turn on normally. (without having to have to spray the carb cleaner every time) I believe that I need to work on the carburetor again or get replaced altogether OR get a valve adjustment. I would like to bring it to a different shop but I don’t know really where to start. Gas is clean, premium used (50CC 2018 Buddy) Carb JUST got cleaned but NOT positive they did honest work…….. Spark plug all new. Where should I start from here?
I would check valves if they are tight get hot it may cause one to stay open a bit ! Exhaust valve on china scooters do get tight on many models I’ve seen ! You can put a piece of notebook paper on exhaust pipe if you turn bike over it should fly out straight if you have a valve open it will flutter like it’s partially getting sucked back to the pipe
This is exactly what's been going on with my bike . Run's for about a mile then shuts off then I can crank it back up and sometimes It wont crank at all then back and forth . Gonna get a new cap and replace the fuel pump just incase since they are only like 10 bucks off Amazon along with the 5 bucks for the cap . Thanks for the video earned my like and sub
@@WaldensWorld found out mine is trash in my fuel tank . I ride about a mile without the cap and same thing happens . Used my air can and blew into my tank and she fires 🔥 right back up . So it must be the ethenal eating away the silicone that's on the fuel sensor . I'm just going to buy a new fuel tank and sensor .
I think im having the same issue because I took the bike lock off which causes the top of the seat latch to hit the top of the tank. I used the wrong fuel for awhile - would an air canister help?
Hi Thks for your excellent video can you please help me I have a Piaggio Zip 2T I change the fuel tap and the fuel valve and no petrol came from the line the connect to carburettor thank you very much
Does your scooter have an electric fuel pump ? I’m not familiar with that scooter some will have fuel pump that runs off of the spark signal ? Let me know I’ll see if I can help I may be able to look it up in bit. It busy right now

Just got my 2012 buddy running after messing around with everything fuel wise. The problem ended up being the float inside the carburetor. Was not adjusted properly. It was closing the fuel line before there was enough fuel in the bowl. Had to adjust twice. Hope this helps someone
@@WaldensWorld Yes I did, and I also watched some other of your videos. My scooter 🛵 49cc Wolf Islander is now having trouble cranking with the push started. I have to kick start it ( it don’t start right away anymore). Sometimes when I would ride it for a at least 20 to 39 minutes would go into a store and when getting ready to leave push button would not start it, I would have to try several times with the kick starter before it starts. It has 03672.6 miles I will replace the fuel and air filter today. I will watch the rest of your videos . Thank you
Well it did go a bit better. Not sure if riding it for a bit pushed the air out. I’m still having an issue of getting to 10mph and it bogs. But when I throttle down again repeatedly I can get to almost 30. Starting to think I need the CDI. Which I have in the mail. But I thought it was fuel pump. But that seems to be working fine.. idk. We’ll see when parts get here Friday
You may have a dirty jet in your carb ! You still have airbox on or a pod filter ? Worn belt ? Or variator problem . Will it throttle all the way on the kick stand with wheel in air ? Vacume line from front of carb to round fuel pump is good no holes and not pinched when you sit on seat ! Few things it could be ! N check If you are pumping throttle and it takes off . Carb has a small pump so your giving a shot of fuel . Therefore you may just have a fuel issue in carb! Check your carb inside to see if jets are ok .
dont know how many of these and 4wheelers i bought dirt cheap because of this problem or a simple carb clean..everone tells me it needs a new carb..never had to do that on any machine ..pays my bills
@@WaldensWorld thank you I actually put an older model gas cap on there and it seems to be running smoothly your video was very helpful if u can can u refer me to any other tips if something like this happens again
i have as problem now im doing this Sr for some one and its bogging out on full throtal and when i drop throtal it picks up agin any ideas ,its nothing like my crf tbh not sure if i aint pulling enough fuel through
So put it in kickstand ! Does it do it with back wheel in air ? You may have a rear clutch sticking ! Or dirty jets in carb also ! Prolly secondary jet ! If your carb was full to start it should bog till it was empty that take few hundred feet I’d think variatior is wore out or mabey clutch is sticking
My brother put Diesel in my moped I syphoned it out and got it working but when it starts it will go and then stop and then go and stop takes a while for it to run fully
Be careful with electric drill around gas tank !! But u may get water in hole ! I would pull tank fill with water n use cordless drill n put a valve or filter on the end !!
Check gas cap for vent , check fuel pump is pumping , check exhaust vale , check gas is good , check float in carb , . These are things that may help ! If it ran at one time shouldn't have to replace a bunch of parts ! We're u at in India . I see you table water n Wells are drying up n water has to be trucked in to city . There is a man on TH-cam that uses cow poop n pee to help put trees back into desert it created ponds n streams litteryl from desert sand !
yes... there are so many hardworking people here.. a man from here is named as forest man because he turns a normal area into a forst...and i thnk u r talking about him..
I haven't read thru all the comments yet so maybe the answer is there somewhere. My scooter runs well half the time but when it's cool out(60 degrees maybe) or after I have ridden it hard for over 10 min and the engine is hot, it will die. Sometimes it will start and idle, but miss a bunch, sometimes it will idle but when the throttle is turned it misses like crazy and very slowly goes put put put(loudly) and will not rev(then dies) any ideas? Tried cap.
Vac lines or mabey exhaust valve is to tight when it gets hot it expands opens up a bit ! Vac runs diaphragm inside carb that pull the throttle piston up ! Look at those two areas
@@WaldensWorld oh thanks, I. Will try that. Previously I have tried cleaning jets, testing choke. I attached a tach and it varies between 900- maybe 1300 when this is occurring and will not rev past 2000 when twisting throttle
This is strange but I have a completely different bike that I've been trying to figure out (1970 yamaha enduro) why it runs awesome for about 20 mins then dies out. I have about a 3.5 gallon tank and this actually makes alot of sense; I'm going to vent the tank and see if it works thanks a million!
That would more than likely be the float and needle not seating inside carb ! Or it’s dirty ! U can clean the carb seat with a qtip n rub the rubber seat with fingers to get any junk off ! Look in hole n blow though the fuel line if possible! I’ve seen blades of grass sit in fuel lines inside carb
What I do when mind dies after the half mile mark I would beat it into submission with a baseball bat. Now my cap is vented but I still have my baseball bat as a backup thanks very informative great video
I've a stupid kymco gy6 that went well for a year but for the last few months it's a pain in the ass. and the last service has been made very recently. after consulting 4 stupid different shops (already paid a lot for nothing) I still have the same problem: after 10/15 mins the scooter doesn't run, even by giving full gas the engine revs up high but it's like there's no pressure enough to go, from 5 to 20 kmh, after that point it goes again... making a very dark noise and loosing power progressively. with vpower it seems a little bit better but after a while same story again.. so what should I do??
Oh crap u need to check your variator n belt for sure ,!!!! Clutch also may be getting stuck . I reread that it runs good just don't move . You will need a impact to get those off but your problem lies in the cvt system . Variator guides get wore n variator will wobble . Rollers wear grooves n will stick in high gear feeling like no power . N clutch also may stick !
@@WaldensWorld thanx for the reply! but I just paid a guy to fix the clutch and belt and a complete service has been made recently (300$). all the trouble started after two weeks and the same guy did another check, he told me its because of an hole in the exhaust. another told me that is probably about some dirty or water in the gas tank. another said its the wrong gasoline. maybe a cleaning additive can help..? I dont trust any mechanic anymore. I just wanna sell it and get rid of this f**g scooter.
@@TheMidnightcowboy1 sounds live variator . Was this guy a shop mechanic or friend !! I've got bikes from shops before mis diagnosed ! I'd check that variator
@@WaldensWorld was a professional mechanic... actually 3 or 4 different. but again, the last one checked and fixed the clutch, that is the only thing wrong he found. but I thought the air in the fuel system thing you were talking was a possibility..
Is it like scooter or sat somewhere . Check vent hose off motor n muffler for muddobber nest but that loss n clunk n go sounds like clutch shoes getting stuck n popping open ! Did you get a new clutch ?
Yes some models have vent in cap some have an external vent of a different sort , the 150 scooter has a line with a shut off valve when scooter crashes it shuts the vent off ! It basically a ball in a small deal !
I wonder if this could be the case of my moped it's a Pagsta Regal Raptor 50cc, it runs for a while but when going up to 4th gear it will have a hard time after a while and slowly dies. It will restart again but usually I need to set the petcock to reserve or even turn it off strangely enough, someone told me it could have to do with the fact that there is too much fuel in the carb that will flood it and turning the petcock off will make it run as long as there is fuel in the carb, but I don't know. I haven't adjuest the air/fuel screws much, just got the idle sounding alright but I noticed the fuel screw is screwed out very far out, like almost as far out as it goes. I also noticed in the fuel cap the rubber that is around it on the inside is cracked and dried out, maybe air is leaking through that and creating a back pressure like in this video? Could I run the bike with the fuel cap of? It isn't damaging the bike or dangerous?
Don’t run with it off can you check your exhaust valve gap they get warm expand n can cause it to open loosing power , you may also check float level if its to high it may dump gas at angle causing flooding n bogging !
@@WaldensWorld Thank you very much for the answer. I checked the valves and they seemed pretty good so I didnt adjust them, however I couldn't find a manual for this bike that is no longer in production so I used the settings that someone suggested, so I don't know for sure if those are correct but he told me to use 0.05 for intake and 0.10 for exhaust, when you mention the exhaust valves expand due to heat, do you think I should tighten it slightly more even if it seems pretty close to 0.10? I took the carb apart and checked it all out, however being a novice at these things I ain't sure what things should look like, but I noticed the float when turned upside down seemed to kind of getting stuck in the position. Also the needle seems to be set at the highest pin on top, in case that could be worth fiddling with that adjustment. I personally think it smells quite much of fuel fumes from the exhaust and the exhaust get very hot even after a short ride for 3 minutes or so. I got this bike that has been sitting for 10 years in a shed with old fuel and oil in it so I emptied the tank and put new gas and oil in and there are some rust at the botteof the gas tank, the oil was all black in the oil container. Maybe I should try and clean the fuel line? There is a white stick hoing up the tank inside, could I blow that with a air compressor or wash with water?
I’m going to try this because I have a go kart with a howhit 150 engine and it turns on but won’t drive when I hit the gas ... I have change the carb the fuse the spark plug and the spark ignition i cannot figure out what to else to do !?
I'd check your carb second jet is probably clogged . They test them at factory n sometimes leave crap in there n ket gets clogged . Welcome to China quality ! Lol

But after he replaced all of that it will idle all day long but now it dies if you give it gas. We are running out of ideas. Can you give us any kind of information to help us get it up and going
Hello I'm having somewhat of the same issue it seems to go for a good minute then when I press on the brake it just cuts off and then it seems like when I do driving for a long. Of time going straight to me I lose speed and starts going down and then it shuts off while I'm riding it
when it stops pull gas cap do you hear pressue or whooshing sound ? it does sound like your loosing fuel ! second check that your pumping gas to carb pull fuel line off carb hit starter for second verify you got fuel pumping ! make sure vent lines for fuel are not pinched or have cuts or holes ! next id check if the float is working or is gas barley gettin in carb ! screw on the front of the kick start cover has a drain hose leads to carb open it verify fuel in carb ! n last id check is exhaust valve lash ! a tight exhaust valve getting hot will do that also ! few ideas let me know if it helps! were u from jeremy ?
sounds like the issues I've been having with my Wolf RX50. on longer runs in the city at WOT or thereabouts it will shut off when braking for a red. sometimes it won't start for ten minutes. recently it bogged and shut off whilst running. something it hadn't done before. same ten minute restart delay. that was one of this years first warm days. getting it home it did it a few more times but only at the red light. carb is brand new. I only use 90+ octane with an additive to counter the ethanol. What I did do today was adjust the valve lash. .003 for the intake, .004 for the exhaust. Ran fine around the block a few times but I'll have to see how it holds up to regular riding especially as the weather gets progressively warmer. I do have a jet kit coming and will go up one size but I'm thinking oil cooler ( app. $200. )
@@WaldensWorld on my RX50 there is a black hose that comes from the top of the valve cover. it runs into a small black canister that also has a clear hose coming out the lower side. then on the other side of the canister there is another black hose that goes to the intake. for the life of me I can't get it situated without it having a kink in it. ( the latter hose. ) bloody awful design. I've made it less severe and it is only an emissions thingamabob after all.
@@WaldensWorld perhaps. I never wanted to work on this CCP crap in the first place but the scooter only shop I took it too was useless and expensive. I wrassled with a 2T Vino last year so I'm a little leery of going deep dive on this one. Yet I know I will have to. Such a shame that a dealer that sells these doesn't have a shop that cares. @@WaldensWorld sure enough, cap off and fired right up. Ran smooth for about 30 seconds and wa waaa, not getting fuel. Started again ran 10 seconds and so on. Guessing its a clogged jet. I checked the carb real quick when i had everything apart and bowl was clean, bone dry but clean. Float seemed ok jets appeared clean. Looks like ill have to pull it all apart and give it a real once over, wire jets and whatnot. Back story found scooter tao tao 50cc next to dumpster half taken apart messed with and left. Only thing missing is a turn signal. Over all good shape, pretty clean. Pulled tank cleaned that as nothing was flowing even after removing petcock. Got thoses cleared. Checked carb spark good air clear back together and no start. Saw your video and vroooom then no vroom. Guy told me float could be sticking. But yeah its def lack of fuel issue right now. Thats where im at if im missing something id appreciate any input. Pulled the line before filter and cap off fuel flowing freely, so def good call on that thanks again.
I replaced my ignition coil and a bunch of other parts. I believe this is my problem. I dont have any .mechanics in my area that will work on my gy6 150
Fuel air n spark ! Check spark ! Pull air filter boot shoot starter fluid into carb ! If it runs you may not be getting fuel ! Also put fingers over mouth of carb may need friends to hit start button make sure it’s pulling air in ,valves could be open ! These exhaust valve are notorious for getting tight n loosing compression causing scooter to not run !

I am having a similar issue, and when the scooter (Suzuki AN125 - 2009) stops from what is obviously a lack of fuel, you let it stand for about 20mins (you can continue to crank but will flatten the battery, so best to wait), then after this period it will start and run just fine. i have replaced spark-plug and fuel filter, and still have the issue. I suspect it is with the vacuum fuel cock. I am awaiting a replacement to test this out. Fuel back vent is clear, as is gas cap, and when testing fuel cock, it appears to operate just fine and allows fuel to flow. Can these vacuum fuel cocks suffer from say a small hole in the diaphragm, and would that have symptoms like this ??
Yes n the vent line would smell of gas n be wet I’ve seen it before ! A lot of scooters will have the exhaust valve get tight over time , when you ride it may be expanded enough to lose compression! I would pop the valve cover off n check valve clearance also ! If it dies can u shoot starter fluid in breathe n will it run ! If it does could be fuel ! How many miles on your engine !
I had this same problem.. replace cold ignition, spark plus, new fuel pomp and fuel filter .. problem solved .. pipe going from tank to filter needs replacing and I've changed positions of my fuel filter from below tank in to side.. mechanic suggestion.. Hello Good time I have a 50 cc Yamaha Vino engine. The petrol amp does not indicate that the tank is empty at all. If the tank is full or empty, the hand is on full. I also changed the kilometer and the floating petrol, but it did not work. I live in Iran if possible. guide me.
These is a metal round cap on top of gas tank it prolly has three tabs holding it it twist out , I think u have a bad fuel gage or bad wires to it or bad connection !
@@WaldensWorld When I turn off the engine, the full gasoline hand goes back to e, and when I turn on the engine, the hand goes to f. The hand is not stuck in the off state. But when the engine starts, it shows f at all. Which I also checked with the empty fuel tank is the hand on f.
Gas gauge in tank seems bad from what your explaining ! Prolly shorted out . It has three wires ! If you have volt meter you should be able to read resistance as you move the float !

Yes you may need to put on ohms check ground from plug to negative battery . If it's grounded to bars it would have to go through bearings in neck ECT ! Or run a new ground wire
Key hole I guess is the vent I noticed caps with key have a flap if you have flap open to the back of scooter it creates a lip when it rains it will hold water n go in key hole ! Best I can tell this may cause it to close ! Make sure flap opens twords seat not rear tire ! Just a hypothesis
I’ve been dealing with a similar issue for a while now. Cleaned the gas tank (it was rusty) replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the carb, and the air filter. It’ll start up, idle, then run fine, but I’ll get to a stop about 5 minutes down the road, go to throttle back up and it’ll bog out on me. Continues to idle roughly but bogs when throttle is applied. If I let it sit for 20 minutes it’ll get me another 5 minutes down the road. I just tried riding with the fuel cap off and it does the same thing. Any ideas?
I’d check exhaust valve clearance! How many miles on engine ! Variatior rollers do not have a flat spot as this will hender the belt from changing from low to high !!! The carb itself some you can pull top cap off n adjust the needle up with clip going down one notch ! Hope this helps !
A frequent issue is that fuel filters like this are designed for engines with fuel pumps, and do not pass enough fuel with gravity-fed systems to keep the engine running UNLESS you can get all the air out of the filter so it is full of fuel. Do that by disconnecting the fuel hose at the carb, orienting the filter vertically, and sucking on the vacuum valve so fuel fills the filter and air escapes up the hose and out the petcock into the tank.
If you have carb cleaner shoot into carb ! Does it run ? Yes . Then we're not getting gas . You also have a vac pump that supply's carb . Is air lines cracked ? Goes from boot infrint if carb to round pump by gas tank . Next would be valves need checked ! It has spark ? Check those things
I thought about doing that... how did u do a direct line?? I cant find anything to adapt so i can put a ditect hose to the carb and close my vacc line too
@@cars2514 yes plug vac hole on intake boot n run line from tank to carb ! But if your carb starts to leak it will fill up motor with gas . A good carb should not leak .
Well i actually saw a video that if the gas cap isnt in good conditions it creates a buble of air inside the tank that can cause ur scootee ot turn off???
Most of them do ! But do you make it up the hill ? What kind of scooter u have 50 or 150 ? You can get lighter weights in variatior but that slows down top speed ! Big bore kit would be best
Unbelievable, I spent over 250 Replacing the Petco the carburetor Every single line spark plug coils oh my God I can't believe it I'm gonna try it 1st thing in the morning and I'm tripping
I've viewed this so i purchased a new cap. But before i did that. My Icebear mojo magic 150cc will run great but stalls, but if i put in a new sparkplug it runs like a top. Then it starts stalling all over. My mechanic said i need to richen up the mixture. Does that sound right? I've only had the bike since January 6 2021. Its a 2020 model and has had so far 3 sparkplugs changes.
So I’d guess the spark plug may not be it ! But when you put one in the motor is cool new plug then it runs great for a while ! I’d first start checking the carb n valves ! Some have a pump that allows fuel in so if the carb wasn’t getting gas then you started it I’m guessing either carb float is sticking and actually may be dumping extra fuel ! Or on these some after day 1500 miles I’ve seen the valves get tight just enough to slow scooter down it may get worse when motor got hot ! Another are vac lines make sure the one from neck by carb goes to fuel pump n is clear from getting smashed by seat or that it don’t have holes ! Try them n holler back we will figure it out
@@WaldensWorld I've asked Mr. Virberello the same question he replied and stated to change out my main jets. So I've ordered some. Between you, him and my mechanic ie. Did you get different cap?
Exhaust valve !!!

Like so many others in here this video saved me much time and frustration. Thank you very much good sir. God bless
Very welcome! Glad to help we all can in small ways !
I bought a new carb for nothing but thank you for finally getting me the answer
Chet Cross having a spare carb is always good. I bought one that I ended up not needing but later started taking parts from it
I'm pretty sure this is my problem too. I bypassed the the vacuum shut off and it still does it with a new carb spark plug and valve adjustment. I can't wait to try it when I get home.
Thank you so much, I had the same problem and I would have never thought of this
Took me few hours to figure it out lol it was at 2 bikes shops before I got it ! Some times you just have to stop step back n think for 24 hours also ! It’s one of my rules if I come across something tricky n I’m in deep deep to think right !

Did you get water in gas or spark loss . Drain screw by front left part of motor has a tube with spring around it attached to the kick start case . Flat head screw driver will open it to drain . I use a cup to catch gas n you can check for water ! Then check spark let me know

I widened the channels in my gas cap and that made some improvement, however once the tank gets to about 1/4 full it starts having the same issues again, (my scoot doesn't have a fuel pump, but is gravity fed), it pulls the gas out of the filter quicker than the filter can refill.
one idea I've been toying with is getting a really huge filter, like the kind used on trucks, and swapping it in there in the hopes that it will act kind of like a secondary tank
any opinions would be appreciated.

The shop is called Boca Scooters…
I am NOT convinced that they did honest work but I don’t know know for sure.
I would like to have it turn on normally. (without having to have to spray the carb cleaner every time)
I believe that I need to work on the carburetor again or get replaced altogether OR get a valve adjustment. I would like to bring it to a different shop but I don’t know really where to start.
Gas is clean, premium used (50CC 2018 Buddy)
Carb JUST got cleaned but NOT positive they did honest work……..
Always drill a 1/8 inch hole into all my caps. Just keep the wheeling down
lol that gas on the wallnuts burns !

Problem solved bad gas this is a brand new scooter first time I drove it I had the problem it never dawned on me that it would have bad gas in it because it was brand new so hopefully this will help someone else
mine was a cracked intake gasket fixed it runs fine now
Good job ! Nice weather for riding !!
Just got my 2012 buddy running after messing around with everything fuel wise. The problem ended up being the float inside the carburetor. Was not adjusted properly. It was closing the fuel line before there was enough fuel in the bowl. Had to adjust twice. Hope this helps someone
Thanks for the information it will definitely help someone! Good catch also
Awesome video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching hope u subscribe n hit that bell nobody knows what stuff we will do tommarow
Thank you
I have a 08 Honda ruckus with bent gas tank I go 55 then it cut off but it gy6 engine do do to the age should replace both
I hope this is my issue too, I’m gonna try it now…. Thank Yooou ❤😩
I can't find a vented cap for a 2021 Peace Sports 50 . None of the caps specifically state they are vented.
Check eBay n some have a vent line with a small cylindrical plastic deal with a ball in them that can go bad if scooter ever crashed !
This really helps thank u
Very welcome I have a few gy6 videos if you can’t figure it out ! I’ve seen about everything
I'll be jiggered thanks man did all the good
I had t look up jiggered lol . Glad I could help . N thanks for the kind words ! We're you from ?
Damn dude that actually fixed it
That's what we like to hear . Awesome ! Thanks for watching . Hope u subscribed building stuff daily !
N check
If you are pumping throttle and it takes off . Carb has a small pump so your giving a shot of fuel . Therefore you may just have a fuel issue in carb! Check your carb inside to see if jets are ok .
@@WaldensWorld thanks!
rust in gas tank ... common problem .. vent clogged..
dont know how many of these and 4wheelers i bought dirt cheap because of this problem or a simple carb clean..everone tells me it needs a new carb..never had to do that on any machine ..pays my bills
All day long ! Yes sir ! Thanks for watching Jake Lang !
I'm having same problem. Brand New scooter just bought showroom. Same senerio go for a while then starves for gas. I'll try that
The gas tank valve runs off vacuume ! I’ve seen pinch vacuume lines in these also
@@WaldensWorld thank you I actually put an older model gas cap on there and it seems to be running smoothly your video was very helpful if u can can u refer me to any other tips if something like this happens again
its the vacume mate not pulling fuel through just doing one with same problem now
I fixed mine it was gas cap ! But thanks someone may have your issues also ! This one is hard to diagnose is why I did video on it !
i have as problem now im doing this Sr for some one and its bogging out on full throtal and when i drop throtal it picks up agin any ideas ,its nothing like my crf tbh not sure if i aint pulling enough fuel through
So put it in kickstand ! Does it do it with back wheel in air ? You may have a rear clutch sticking ! Or dirty jets in carb also ! Prolly secondary jet ! If your carb was full to start it should bog till it was empty that take few hundred feet I’d think variatior is wore out or mabey clutch is sticking
Holy crap I had the same problem it would stall and I would have to take the gas cap off I assumed it had something to do with ventilation
My brother put Diesel in my moped I syphoned it out and got it working but when it starts it will go and then stop and then go and stop takes a while for it to run fully
Prolly still have smell drops in-line somewhere hopefully it burns on through ! Did you get a new spark plug?
also check the computer in front of the motor cause the wires arc on the metal surrounding it
yeah there are high voltages from the CDI box. I got a shock from it before
drill a very very small hole on the top of the plastic tank.. that might work
Be careful with electric drill around gas tank !! But u may get water in hole ! I would pull tank fill with water n use cordless drill n put a valve or filter on the end !!
Ive seen alot of mopeds with a nipple n hole on the top for the vent
You need to put your fuel filter to the hose after the tank not close to the carb
Before petcock
Filter don’t care we’re it’s at ! As long as it’s sealed !!
@@WaldensWorld oh okay I just know it's good to have a solid flow to carburetor
i am from India bro.. i have the same problem...what to do now.. which parts should be chnge or clean
Check gas cap for vent , check fuel pump is pumping , check exhaust vale , check gas is good , check float in carb , . These are things that may help ! If it ran at one time shouldn't have to replace a bunch of parts !

yes... there are so many hardworking people here.. a man from here is named as forest man because he turns a normal area into a forst...and i thnk u r talking about him..
and i also want to inform i.. its a new scooter just 800km runs..
Let me know if that works!
yea its like putting ur hand over ur mouth.if u will. u need a vent.
or replace the fuel tank valve. put a fuel shut off valve just get the right thread size i think there 16mm.
Check the fuel valve my did the same it was my fuel valve I by pass mine with a in line cut off valve
Thanks for information someone may have that exact problem thanks
Do u remember if gas would pour out the carb. After u shut the motor off
That would more than likely be the float and needle not seating inside carb ! Or it’s dirty ! U can clean the carb seat with a qtip n rub the rubber seat with fingers to get any junk off ! Look in hole n blow though the fuel line if possible! I’ve seen blades of grass sit in fuel lines inside carb
If you don't trust me take the filter out and give blow both side see the air how flows both side
to solve your problem install the filter upside down
What I do when mind dies after the half mile mark I would beat it into submission with a baseball bat. Now my cap is vented but I still have my baseball bat as a backup thanks very informative great video
I've a stupid kymco gy6 that went well for a year but for the last few months it's a pain in the ass.
and the last service has been made very recently.
after consulting 4 stupid different shops (already paid a lot for nothing) I still have the same problem:
after 10/15 mins the scooter doesn't run, even by giving full gas the engine revs up high but it's like there's no pressure enough to go, from 5 to 20 kmh, after that point it goes again... making a very dark noise and loosing power progressively.
with vpower it seems a little bit better but after a while same story again..
so what should I do??
The gas cap has something To do with ventilating. I have the same gas cap for 5 years. 🤔🤔
Thanks for the video. I have a challenge with my 250cc jonway scooter, that starts but not accelerate, and what could be s solution

Try cleaning the Jets in the carb. Might have clog in the main jet
( the latter hose. )
bloody awful design. I've made it less severe and it is only an emissions thingamabob after all.

@@WaldensWorld perhaps. I never wanted to work on this CCP crap in the first place but the scooter only shop I took it too was useless and expensive.

Such a shame that a dealer that sells these doesn't have a shop that cares.

Fuel air n spark ! Check spark ! Pull air filter boot shoot starter fluid into carb ! If it runs you may not be getting fuel !

@@WaldensWorld I have spark, I didn't understand the kill switch part....
@@WaldensWorld should also mention gas coming out from air filter... Checked floats even though it's new, not stuck...
Has light blue dark blue and black.Dark blue high beam and tail light Blue low beam head light. both work when run hot wire direct one at a time, No power from plug in up. Have power to cluster and down .Must have missed a ground ?.
Yes you may need to put on ohms check ground from plug to negative battery . If it's grounded to bars it would have to go through bearings in neck ECT ! Or run a new ground wire
@@WaldensWorld That is what i'll do thankx
Would this become worse the fuller the tank is That seems to be the issue I'm having
Sounds logical less area to expand . Pull gas cap off n let it run
Damn mine did the same and I never thought of the cap. Why does the cap go bad? What causes it?
Key hole I guess is the vent I noticed caps with key have a flap if you have flap open to the back of scooter it creates a lip when it rains it will hold water n go in key hole ! Best I can tell this may cause it to close ! Make sure flap opens twords seat not rear tire ! Just a hypothesis
@@WaldensWorld thanks
Does it smoke ??
Exhaust valve gets hot expands it ma be close to open
@@WaldensWorld Its a two stroke so I'm not sure that would matter, would it? It doesn't smoke. Its a Geely 50cc
Its not this either cap off mine still does same thing gravity feed direct to carb vac line closed same same HELP!
Exhaust valve tends to get tight on used models also !
Well i actually saw a video that if the gas cap isnt in good conditions it creates a buble of air inside the tank that can cause ur scootee ot turn off???
I need help every time I ride my moped up the hill it Boggs down
Most of them do ! But do you make it up the hill ? What kind of scooter u have 50 or 150 ? You can get lighter weights in variatior but that slows down top speed ! Big bore kit would be best
Says I got an invalid response from the server.
Sorry, that was fir somethung else. Great video
Unbelievable, I spent over 250 Replacing the Petco the carburetor Every single line spark plug coils oh my God I can't believe it I'm gonna try it 1st thing in the morning and I'm tripping
Hope that’s it ! Your compression good ! It run on starter fluid ?
Not me, we will crack this mystery. When I say not me I mean it. The last vehicle I worked on was a Chevrolet Chevett and it cost me $1600 in new carburetor. Tried to change fuel filter, learned to not use Teflon tape ot fuel system.
@@johnlovell1035 ok but I don’t know him lol ! What he say ?
Oh one more thing your roller in variatior may have flat sides causing it to not hit top speed and the rear clutch springs sometimes start sticking causing it to not hit top speed !
@@WaldensWorld he has video channel on TH-cam.
