      I think you’ll be pleased. This is my second season with it. Love it.

    The pocket in the back of the jacket are for large hand warmers to help keep the kidneys warm.

    What’s the temp range for this jacket? I live in NY, I’d be using it for bow season mainly here. So maybe temps down to the 20’s. How much do you have to layer for those colder temps with this? Thanks. Great video

      They advertise it for 30 - 40 degrees. However, I’ve used it in the 20s. You just have to layer. I have the vest and bibs as well along with some good thermal base layers. Keeps me good and toasty.

    I am roughly similar size and body type as you according to what you said in the video. I am debating between xl and xxl on the jacket because I want room for layering. I hunt Northern Mich and temps get cold especially rut and late season, I bought the Sanctuary 2.0 2 years ago and it is too warm. I have dropped a lot of weight the past year so I cant go too much off old first lite gear. I noticed on your video on the bibs you ordered xl, on the size chart I am a L with a 34/36 waist depending on mfg for jeans and other pants and that size is concerning with layering as well. Any feedback is appreciated

      I think you would still be good with XL. I have worn the bibs and vest with the jacket no problem. The good thing too is they have a really good exchange/return policy. Have done that in the past.

      @OldBreedOutdoors I did order the Solitude jacket, bibs and vest in xl. Fit is excellent and have room for layers if needed. Afraid if Inhad ordered a size up would have been too much and sloppy. Good info in your video. Now I am just hoping I dont regret waiting for the new stuff coming out this month. Was hard to ignore the 40% off however and talking with customer service the revised Solitude and Sanctuary sets weren't enough for me to pass on the 40% off.

    Do you find the arms and especially wrist cuff area especially constraining and tight? Your arms are a bigger than mine and I found that I had a very hard time removing the jacket and decided to return it. I'm curious if I received a defective jacket because aside from the difficulty getting my hands out, it would be very hard to layer anything under. My torso and back area fit great but the arms and wrist, not so much. I think I may go with the new source jacket along with the solitude vest.

      So I’m 6ft 220lbs. Known for having big hands too. That said I haven’t had any issues with the fit of the jacket in any regard. I have an XL. Usually the part that gets me is across the shoulders but not the case with this jacket. Hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

    How is the collar on that jacket when shooting your bow? I've heard people complain about the collor hitting their string. It looks like a great jacket but that's something that's made me a little hesitsant to buy this.

      Honestly haven’t worn this jacket bow hunting. So can’t really give you feedback on that. My opinion though is it would just be a matter of practice like wearing any other piece of gear while shooting a bow.

    Are you wearing the orange catalyst vest over the solitude jacket in the pick? If so, did you size up or keep the same size vest as the jacket? I have the solitude system and love it, but thinking of getting the orange vest for rifle season. Any suggestions?

    • @OldBreedOutdoors
      @OldBreedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I’ve got a basic vest on. However, if you did want to do that I would definitely recommend sizing up. I have the solitude vest as well and wear that underneath. Hope that helps.

    How puffy/bulky is the jacket? I had Drake Non-Typical heavy weight jacket and bibs. They were a bit clunky and were not great to shoot a bow while wearing.

    • @OldBreedOutdoors
      @OldBreedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I do not think it is very puffy or bulky. It will be a bit given the fact it's a cold weather jacket. However, I know what you are referring to. I've had other cold weather jackets like this that made you feel like Ralphie from the Christmas Story. I hate wearing that kind of jacket. With this jacket I do not have that feeling at all. I have not hunted with a bow in the late season with it but based on my experience with it I do not think it would be an issue.

    How does the solitude system do against briars/brush?

    • @OldBreedOutdoors
      @OldBreedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say it’s about average. Wouldn’t recommend too much briars with this material. However, through brush it does alright. Used this gear in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Arizona without issue. Doesn’t mean you could walk through a briar patch. Hope that helps.

      I wouldn't go crazy in briars. That isn't really what it is used for. The material is easy to brush off burs though.

    How tall and what weight are you and the size you ordered? I'm 5'9 185 you think a large in bibs and jacket will be to big on me?

    • @OldBreedOutdoors
      @OldBreedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m 5’11” and 230lbs. I have the XL. It’s just right for me and allows room for a vest and base layers. My suggestion would be L. You can always return it. I’ve had good experience with returns. Just read the return info on the paperwork in the package before you open anything.

      I’m 5’10, 185lbs. Ordered a medium bibs and large jacket. They seem to fit perfect for me. The jacket has room to comfortably layer with a hoodie and mid layer insulated jacket. If I wanted to layer the bibs with another insulated pair I’d go large.
      Kuiu 200 pro merino, kuiu strong fleece 260, kuiu element jacket, first lite solitude on top
      Synthetic long johns, kuiu strong fleece layering pant, kuiu attack pant, first lite bib is what I’m layering with

    Is it a really wind proof now?

    • @OldBreedOutdoors
      @OldBreedOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say so. Where I hunt in PA is always windy. Wearing this in December in the windy conditions I was pretty comfortable.

      I really hadn’t noticed. That said I’m really quite impressed with the pattern. I’ve used it in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio and Arizona and thought it was great
