Kuiu kept me covered for the past 3yrs in North Idaho and have the full set up in Verde for Spring/Summer/Fall and into Winter. I’m never Cold/Wet and quickly learned how to not over dress layer wise. But The Super Down Pro btw is NOT for moving as it’s way too warm, which is a good thing lol

I love my Kuiu gear. Been thinking of trying origin but I just can’t seem to steer away from Kuiu. Even their daily clothes are good.

I can genuinely state you guys made the right decision to step away from First Lite. I used to be an ambassador for them and went way back with them to their very early years. The product just continued to get cheaper, worsening quality and fading customer service. I used to get 60% off their stuff. Even at that massive of a discount I absolutely could not stomach just how awful of a product it really was nor could I honestly give my recommendation of their gear to fellow hunters.

Kuiu is my absolute favorite hands down. I hunt whitetail in Ohio. I’m 6’6 and use to be a pro powerlifter so finding stuff that would actually fit me especially the Attack pants in tall was a huge selling point. Then I got the Proximity jacket and the Encounter zip up. Literally never been warmer in the stand especially late season. Plus the warranty and reliability. Cant say enough good about it! Good video guys.

I have owned both brands and sold my first lite gear. First lites new 2024 gear this year looks really good, but the prices are astronomical for us Canadians even with a first responder discount. Kuiu has done quite well with their whitetail gear release. I have the proximity and encounter suits and like them both. The attack pants, I have 3 pairs and want more. I got into kuiu initially for moose season with the verde camo, but when the whitetail line was released, I had to try it. I look forward to kuiu's future releases.

I have KUIU, Sitka, First Lite and Stone Glacier. Each has its niche. KUIU and their pant sizing does not fit me at all. I have a 32.75” waist and their 32 is too tight even though it claims 33” and their 34” slides down over my hips. Sitka and Stone Glacier pants fits like gloves and correct sizing is advertised. Base layers I go with First Lite, Camo Kuiu Valo. All products are well made and serve a purpose.

Agree on the pant sizing. We have to size up.

Appreciate you guys sharing this! Would really like to see a Kuiu whitetail system review. Haven’t seen many of those on TH-cam.

I think the biggest aspect of Kuiu that really drew me in to the brand was that Kuiu has almost something for everyone. Especially now with Waterfowl and Encounter/proximity. Even more so are their neutral earth tone solids. Not to mention the Attack pants are a freakin workhorse of a pant.

Hey guys! Just started watching your content, thank you! Will KUIU release any hoodie in the future with a face mask in the hood?

I didn’t think Kuiu sponsored people. In fact I’m pretty sure they didn’t when Jason was there. I’ve bought well over 10 thousand dollars of Kuiu gear. Probably pushing 20 thousand. One of the things I appreciated was the fact that they didn’t sponsor people. I’d rather pay for what I like over using something I don’t like just because it’s free. Every swinging pecker on you tube is trying to get stuff for free or get paid to use someone’s gear. It ruins the credibility of what anyone says when there’s a bias. One year product x is best next year product y is best. In my opinion Kuiu gear speaks for itself. I use. I love it. I knew Jason personally. I see several changes in Kuiu that I hope doesn’t veer too far from what Jason’s vision was.

I can assure you Kuiu is not changing their vision. They are doing the same great things in the whitetail space now.

Did you feel violated? Spending 20k on needless camo gear, I hope it came with something you feel at least a little dirty about.

I 100% agree with you here. I was fortunate to get a chance to get to know Jason right before he passed and his passion for his gear was like no other. Even though kuiu stays true to making the same gear I wish Jason could still be the man running the company. Kuiu is amazing but for people like me and you it will never feel the same. But I still only buy kuiu for the most part because jason made some of the best gear and I appreciate the work he did every time I go out on a long hunt. Jasons passion changed my life as a hunter and I’m forever greatful for him

I wonder if that’s why born and raised left too?? Born and raised have like 400,000 subscribers so just think of all the people that bought first lite because of them and all of a sudden they leave the brand so obviously something happened. Shows you how first lite died business
