The one thing that always worries me is that by focussing so heavilly on farming The rest of the team has to potentially defend agains all 6 players AND they have hard time farming as jungle is always taken , so I wonder if strats like that while making you individaully stronger can sometimes hurt the team.
@@EGO.BReAKERR I am not convinced this game revolves around single carry heroes. There is so much CC, silence and such If all wealth is on one hero once that hero is dead the rest of the team stands no chance. Can be wrong thou, that is why I am asking.
Yeah, I think it often hurts team: For the most part, jungle should probably be divided amongst key members of the team, used to catch-up behind players, or taken in laning phase by laners. That being said - I do think in lower rated games, the jungles just tend to sit there ripe for the taking, so this is probably an ok guide to follow for 75%+ of players, but thaaat being said, if you climb using this strat you're probably gonna get hardstuck and have a crutch. You'd have to change strats to not sabotage what would have been more coordinated teams, and not lose to more coordinated teams who're actually allocating their resources properly (especially as deadlock matures) I think this "I just farm" strat that a lot of sevens, yamatos, and wraiths use will really fall out of style. If you can safely counter jungle, that's always good thought obviously. In pro we may also see some more "funnel-y" strats come up, who knows.

Really cool guide, right to the point! I´ve been playing lightning ball Seven for a while now and the souls difference between you and everyone else is always crazy this way
More people need to see this tbh, not even just for Seven, but for the game in general. One thing I frequently see when playing MOBAs that aren’t older like League and Dota is people don’t farm often. It’s usually people newer to the genre, so I can’t fault them much, but it’s a MOBA at the end of the day. Farming is essential. For Deadlock in particular, so many people play it like Overwatch where they just want to run in and team fight, which usually results in them falling way behind lol
3 heroes i've seen who seem to be able to do this snowballing effect with massive farming currently. Are Seven, Haze and McGinnis. Seven, like you showed here (better then i ever could). Haze in the way that once built to some extent, she can stay off map rather easily and farm the enemy jungles (though not as effectively as seven or McGinnis), while also popping into the flanks of team fights and getting kill or two only to disappear once again. And well, McGinnis's turrets can basically farm entire waves of creeps or even jungles without her even being there. Place one or two down depending on the jungle level, shoot a bit maybe and then start running to the next one. She her can always easily apply huge pushing pressure to any lane, to the point I've seen her take out a walker by herself in the span of a few seconds.
Infernus can be played similarly, actually. He's second ability melts jungle camps, he is good at split pushing and with ricochet he turns into Farming God and shortly after become unstoppable. I usually have have most souls in my games as Infernus
Good night, fellas and WELCOME to Deadlock! Spawning in orange corner iiiiiits Seven. He is in my top 3 best heroes, as Yamato, Kelvin and Mirage... yea there're more than 3 heroes in my top 3 i guess

Yeah, exactly this is what I thought watching the first 5minutes. In the better MM lobby, you'll deprive farm to other teammates and it will be hard 5v6 if you keep farming lol. Can only do this to noobs. Good enemies can end the game in 20minutes lol
This is how mobas are played. You typically want people on your team that have utility, tank and a bit of damage so they can control the map and you have 1 or 2 cores that just farm hard and join bigger team fights

The survivability point is great not only for the reasons you listed, but if you have a crazy soul lead over the enemy team and you die to them, they get a very large soul bounty for the amount of souls you have as a comeback mechanic. Not dying really is the best thing you can do with hyperfarm Seven
Can confirm this works pretty well. I lost my lane (because I was playing the sweatiest lash), died 3 times, and still won and ended with more souls than anyone in the game.
This feels very lineup dependent. I would not want to fight with an Infernus and Haze on my team for farm. But then again, I still do outfarm them. And I will be the AM that comes out of 6-slotted after 40 minutes of farming.
Mo & krill is another good contender for a god tier farmer I think. I used a build similar to this on him earlier and ended the game with 71k souls at 39 minutes 30k souls up on the entire lobby. Getting your burrow to level 2 asap alongside torment pulse and mystic vulnerability lets you one shot camps just as fast as seven. And if you have basic magazine and monster rounds then you can still clear camps fast enough to get back to lanes to farm because of the passive damage from torment pulse. Level 3 burrow with superior cooldown is where it really shines though
So one thing that this kind of fails to take into account is this works against low-mid tier uncoordinated teams. The issue with the farming to catch back up straight when behind, is that a good coordinated team will be pushing to end the game at 20-25 minutes to prevent the come from behind farming. There isn't much to be done about that, because if you, and your teammates are far enough behind they are able to do that you just lose. But deadlock does have a lot of catch up mechanics that make this possible just harder at higher skill levels.
I was not expecting to see you in a deadlock video Drongo. But I'm happy I did. Hope you and family is doing good. oh and very excited for outback octagon 3.
I swear this video is the result of all my games suddenly having Seven's in my game and taking all the farm on the map and leaving everyone on the team struggling for souls. Yes you can take all the farm on the map, but you also have to be consious that you're taking farm from your teammates too. And if you're not contributing to team fights then all you're doing is making the game difficult for your teammates. I would argue this video is a bad example for the community. For example, you're showcasing your crazy amount of souls at the end of the game, but your other stats aren't that impressive when you take into account the souls you have. So those souls aren't being efficiently spent when it translates to player damage / kills / assists / generating souls for your other players via player assists / securing kills.
I recently had a seven in my team like this. 70k net worth at end of the game, while others had ~50k(most had less) We lost. Dude was ignoring pretty much everything related to team grouping/defending/ganking (not to mention taking all jungle farm), first half of the game we were doing semi fine and even for some time, but quickly lost control of the map (there was also another “farming haze guy”). Then he came out and still died to enemy team with all his net worth. Farming is important, but decision making on when to and when not to is more important
I have been a registered ball maxxer for a while now and I have a few tips. Put reach into your build, it's required to 1 ball shot the 2 creep camps in the bottom left and top right of the map, even after the ball radius buff. Reach also pairs very well with all of seven's abilities so it has use outside of farming. Tesla bullets are mid as hell and are honestly not worth the price, even just for farming.
@@evsanger people hype them up since they're considered good for farm, but in reality they don't do much damage, so it's not worth getting it if you already have good tools to farm (like with seven having his 1 and 3, and haze always getting ricochet)
Become Aladin, dont die. Got it! Great vid, learned a lot! The only thing I find myself asking is what to do when your lane is getting pushed in hard and the sacrifices you make for farming vs staying to protect your lane. Everything mentioned here is golden, but not sure if I can apply some of these tactics during hard pressure.
just did this with mcginnis yesterday, turret build and your turret clears camps on its own. with the right buys you can have 12 turrets at any time on a 1s cooldown lol
I literally had a seven in my game yesterday who was with magic carpet and farming all the game. In the end, enemies were killing our patron, and he was still faming forest xD
Geist main here. This is extremely similar to how I play Geist. Max out her bomb as fast as possible and dump every item I can into making it better. Combine that with Leech, Spirit Drain, and Alchemical Flask, and while it's not the best offensive build, it farms and defends insanely.
Another character that can do this is bebop once it gets echo shard. Use your ult for tier 3, and 2 bombs of tier 2 and 1 bomb on tier ones. Plus you can aim full double bomb build. The biggest problem i've noticed is alot of people do jungle now, when the entire enemy team and your entire team is jungling every time they are near something, there's almost no jungles up. I assume eventually people are gonna play by choosing one person on their team some type of carry that can quickly kill camps to be the dedicated jungler.
no. thats not how this game works. if you do what this guy does. you'll make your team lose. you stealing all your teams farm is not good like other mobas theres 4 lanes. get your money from that. get the camps that are near you. do not go accross the map to steal farm from lane 2-3
Seven is like the Alchemist in Dota. Alchemist relies on farming a lot more than everybody else and on having a higher net worth than anybody else. But unless you have that advantage you arent really gonna do much. The same honestly seems to apply to Seven. You want to farm for the first 20 minutes and then you come out having 15k more souls than the 2nd farmed hero and you just (hopefully) stomp everybody.
9:58 when I heard this I immediately groaned because I knew exactly what you were going to say. I don't think giving the enemy an opportunity for 500+ free souls when there's nothing going on in the map is a good idea at all, because it doesn't do anything for your team. I can understand if there's a fight going for some objective, but even then, you still end up losing those souls if someone isn't at the fight, and you aren't any closer to the fight than they are
I had a Seven with 70k souls recently. He must've missed the whole teamfight part cause he avoided them at all cost. We still won, but he barely had an impact.
Viscous’s splatter is really good for farming too. It’s pretty much the same thing you do here, use splatter then go to the next camp. You can also use goo ball to kill red camps pretty fast early on.
The ball can do level ones with just its base form and no levels. Similarly, if you want to min-max super hard and still get the benefit of maxing an ability other than a ball if you want to build for power surge or stun, you can farm level 2 camps with 1 ball, if you pop 2 bursts into them first and have enduring spirit, improved spirit, bullet resist shredder, mystic vuln, duration extender, and suppressor. That costs only 10k souls, which is your 12th slot. So it does take a little bit longer to get it up and running, this provides some flexibility outside of just building ball. Stun or power surge build will help you more midgame, surge also helps clear larger camps that ball doesn't reach. I currently max surge, stun, ult, ball in my build. The extra dps is nice but the movement slow is more useful IMO, and i very rarely use his ult until late game anyways.
I think I played a match with a 7, doing a similar route. Once I caught on I just looked at the map to see which jungle he's at. Went back and forth that match, I think we lost but that was 2 weeks ago
Infernus is even better at this playstyle. His 2 has a very easy time oneshoting medium camps and it's built in mobility too whereas Seven has to walk or buy items for mobility.
I like the concept and have personally been ball maxxing since stun nerfs but I disagree with tesla bullets as a buy since it defeats the purpose of maxing the ball early just to spend your first major purchase on a shooting item. You could get rapid recharge/improved spirit or Enchanters barrier/veil walker to double down on your safe and roam oriented playstyle. The upside being that you would be getting far more Spirit power from these items making the ball stronger.
Cool idea! TH-cam seems to be filling with "afk farm is the best thing you could do" -videos and it is really starting to show at matches, not in a good way. If enemy team knows how to exploit the fact that our team has 1-2 players constantly afk farming, they just blast our walkers and get so much ahead that their creeps will do the work for them and while they can actually afk farm, we are just defending our base. These afk farming guides will work if your team gets a great start and you can push couple walkers early, but in any other case this can be really bad for the team. I hope you'd stress the importance of teamfights and helping your team more. :) EDIT: Right after writing this I played 2 matches and both of them had a AFK farmer in our team, who literally was afk farming jungle midst to a several teamfights that was happening 10m away. No surprises here: we lost both of the games. I hope this trend dies soon. :/
I don't think this is anagolous to antimage, but closer to terrorblade, you aren't buying a battlefury and farming. You are sending an illusion at camps to farm while you do other things. Sending a lightning ball at camps while you do other things.

Terrific video funnily. This was already my game plan, and I've been preforming amazingly with it
Excellent video, I look forward to the rest of your content 👍
DRONGO I CAN SEE YOU FROM MILES AWAY
I recently had a seven in my team like this. 70k net worth at end of the game, while others had ~50k(most had less)
We lost.
So good man, hope you upload more in the future. Subscribed and liked 👍
Seven is by far my favorite character. So fun to steamroll with him
I have been a registered ball maxxer for a while now and I have a few tips.
Why are Tesla bullets mid? People seem to really hype them up. I feel like they're a little redundant when you aren't using your gun on camps
@@evsanger It's probably quite redundant when Seven's 3 already does what Tesla bullets does, just way better
@@evsanger people hype them up since they're considered good for farm, but in reality they don't do much damage, so it's not worth getting it if you already have good tools to farm (like with seven having his 1 and 3, and haze always getting ricochet)
@@evsanger i think one of the biggest things tesla bullets is good for is procing spirit damage items on your gun, but seven already does that
I recognise that voice.
been watching you since age of empires 3 content.
good to see you making deadlock content.
Nice guide! Expected nothing less coming from you, always loved your ability to explain stuff in AoE 😀
Good to hear Drongo's voice in a new game! All the best mate
just did this with mcginnis yesterday, turret build and your turret clears camps on its own. with the right buys you can have 12 turrets at any time on a 1s cooldown lol
Dude your voice is too recognizable. As soon as you started talking I'm like theres no way this is Aussie Drongo. And then you introduced youself 😂
OZZIE DRONGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Keep it up bro, much love!
I assume eventually people are gonna play by choosing one person on their team some type of carry that can quickly kill camps to be the dedicated jungler.
no. thats not how this game works. if you do what this guy does. you'll make your team lose. you stealing all your teams farm is not good like other mobas
theres 4 lanes. get your money from that. get the camps that are near you. do not go accross the map to steal farm from lane 2-3
Magic carpet seven is just eletric ivy, its beautiful
Seven is like the Alchemist in Dota. Alchemist relies on farming a lot more than everybody else and on having a higher net worth than anybody else. But unless you have that advantage you arent really gonna do much. The same honestly seems to apply to Seven. You want to farm for the first 20 minutes and then you come out having 15k more souls than the 2nd farmed hero and you just (hopefully) stomp everybody.
I finally know why I’m seeing a bunch of seven with carpet lol
9:58 when I heard this I immediately groaned because I knew exactly what you were going to say. I don't think giving the enemy an opportunity for 500+ free souls when there's nothing going on in the map is a good idea at all, because it doesn't do anything for your team. I can understand if there's a fight going for some objective, but even then, you still end up losing those souls if someone isn't at the fight, and you aren't any closer to the fight than they are
As a league of Legends ADC main, i will say that in this game the mindset of FARM over Everything else does help you out a lot
wow it's like MOBA games share the same core principle???????????? who would've thought
Well thought out quality video. Cheers!
Only works if your team doesn't take every camp on your side of the map by min 10
aka lower elo
@@m0xha Happens more in higher as people move through the map better and optimize their routes to include better farming patterns
@@jpjpjpppjp yeah i know, i meant this only works in lower elo where people don’t take camps
Sounds like this would work for McGinnis as well. Max turrets and cooldown reduction, drop turrets on camps with a heal for bigger ones
I miss your bar videos.
Awesome video, very informative!
Saw a Mo & Krill drop 40 in 45 mins with 96k souls. Could not believe my eyes.
Great video. I look forward to your next video
Yo its Drongo! Found you on BAR btw, have another sub :D
I really enjoyed the don’t die segment
did the same with IVY, i main Ivy this is great for roster/ Similar Concept
That's how I use Ricochet as well. It's for accelerating farming. The sooner I get it, the harder I ensure my lead for farming.
i've been running triplestun with echo shard and refresher, i'll definitely try your build today :D
Oh yeah nice I'm totally down to learn about Seve- Wait... it that fuckin' DRONGO?!?
Quality vid keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Btw... Alt+1/2/3/4 levels up that ability, saves precious seconds.
EDIT: Right after writing this I played 2 matches and both of them had a AFK farmer in our team, who literally was afk farming jungle midst to a several teamfights that was happening 10m away. No surprises here: we lost both of the games. I hope this trend dies soon. :/
Clicked this video unexpectedly... whos that voice.. AUSSIEE DRONGOOO MY BOYY
Assuming I can farm for 25minutes without my team completely feeding and giving up every objective is bold of you
I don't think this is anagolous to antimage, but closer to terrorblade, you aren't buying a battlefury and farming. You are sending an illusion at camps to farm while you do other things. Sending a lightning ball at camps while you do other things.
Oh hey Drongo, thought you were still in the AoE series. Man this game is bringing everyone together. It's crazy
