    I’ve watched a lot of TH-cam reviews and this one has some of the best showcasing of this phones video and photo ability. Great review. I would buy this phone and already preordered it. I bought it because I want to learn traditional camera settings in pro mode. But there are multiple features combined that make this phone stand out which made me obsessed with this phone. Also I’ve never owned a flagship phone before and can’t wait till I get it on the 26th (hopefully, Sony keeps pushing back the release date and blaming it on retailers but it clearly shows on their websites that they in fact pushed the release back. I guess they get the snapdragon from the same manufacturer as their PS5 chip and they’re backed up. Not a good look when you’re struggling with sales to being with… Considering this phone is nearly 3X the cost of a PS5 you would think the would ensure it makes its deadline especially when it came out so late to begin with.)🤷🏽‍♂️

    Apps that do not support 4K run at 1096p.
    Sony has done since Z5 Premium.
    No screen can change resolution , just keeps screen from going high res.
    All pixels still work.
    It is like watching 1080p movie on 4K screen.

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly the point as to why there's no such option to switch resolution on this phone. *It's just not gonna do anything aside from rendering contents on the set resolution.*
      I thought there was already a test for battery life in a Galaxy phone set to QHD+ compared to HD+, and it showed virtually no difference at all.

    • @abdullahmubarak6840
      @abdullahmubarak6840 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You and Yort both make a great point. The panel itself is already taking a lot of energy to run, simply reducing the resolution won't help as it was already running at 1080p most of the time. Since the panel Sony use is quite unique (21:9), so they probably couldn't do much with how manufacturers made and tune the panel. Maybe with more adopters of the same panel, they could get better results with the power consumption of the panel.

    Just an FYI, for Mobile OLED type displays, they'll most likely to be pentile matrix type display. So a 4K Oled in this type of display is equivalent to a 1440p LCD. Just to stop people complaining about you can't actually perceive the difference.
    e.g.
    1 Pixel on a RGB IPS LCD contains 3 subpixels (R,G,B)
    1 Pixel on a Pentile AMOLED contains 2 subpixels only (2 out of R,G or B)

    • @___Amal_
      @___Amal_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Apple says their OLED iPhones have 450ppi, but the actual pixel density for Red and Blue subpixels are 326ppi(Retina Display !)

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even without considering the true resolution, having 643 dots per inch is already very tack sharp for any person with normal eyes, or even to those with perfect 20/20 vision as well.
      What's definitely NOT good is having an eyesore from looking at a front camera punch hole on the screen, which is essentially as good as a permanent dead pixel that cannot be fixed at all.
      I wonder whose idea that came from, but it's totally disgusting and gets in the way of enjoying the beautiful screen as a whole.

By your own standard, almost every phone in current market right now can't be viewed during bright daylight, and half of them are completely useless anywhere outdoor.
      Screen actually need to be around 400 to have a visible screen. Laptops had around 200, need to be under some shade for the screen to be visible. no point to upgrade if someone already have mk2, 120h is running mostly at 1080p not 4k, telephoto 70-105 is just useless in this phone, lack sharpness, telephoto on 5ll and 5lll is much better, and they promised 1300nits screen, still barely hits 600, Sony is not listening, we want a sustained 1000nits screen, quick night mode in camera lol

    • @silva_br1
      @silva_br1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sony never promises high brightness. It is bad for oled lifespam and pixel density is to high for that.
      What companies advertise as 1200 or 1300 is just 1% of screen displaying white image and 99% black.
      Not entire screen goes 1300.
      With updates, the periscope will improve to same quality of 5iii.
      Every year 5 has better cameras, both get equal with new android.

    You shoot very well👌the screen wasn't brown out with very slight colour cast. Great job💯 As u said I am fond of the skin tones and grass colour too.

    looks like the Galaxy S21 just boosts the shadows with a little noise reduction on the dedicated night mode. You can do that in post, right? Didn't realize they left out the object tracking during video. They should have made that clear from the start!!! Wow

    Thanks for the great review.
    Do you have problems with overheating during use?
    I see many reviewers say it gets hot very fast

    Unique but critically flawed and not up for competition and price again. Bye-bye Sony and hello Xiaomi!
