Your take on Xperia 1 III is just spot on. Sad that the typical mobile phone reviewers have been brainwashed by Samsung's overly processed photos, having no idea how an actual realistic photo is supposed to look like. You're an alpha shooter, and it shows in your balanced review of the Xperia phone. Keep up the good work.

everything you made is professional , from choosing the scenes , taking the shots , making this video , all of these are on a professional level , well done bro . this phone's camera in usuall shots are on the same level of other rivals from Xiaomi , Samsung and Apple but not better than these , but in moving shots , it is in a league of its own , no other phone can even come close , other camera reviews don't focus on this point , which is where the phone really shines .

This is exactly why I ordered one. Even though the MKBHD review was mediocre at best, it completely missed the point of the phone. It's all about creative control, I don't want to have the phone guess what I want out of a picture of video, I want to be the one controlling how it comes out from the moment that is being framed on the screen. How hard would it be to make a full guide? There aren't all that many options even in manual mode. I went outside today and used full manual on my Xperia 1 III for the first time and it wasn't rocket surgery. I would like to learn more, however - but it really isn't all that complex. This isn't building a MAME cabinet using an OLED monitor with G-Sync and having to set up each game in GroovyMame or something like that. It's just a camera with some options.

After having and using the SONY Xperia 1 mark ii for almost a year now I can say that the camera system is as good as any other. It's just different. And in my opinion that is it's strong point. That it's not like using an iphone. It is a lot more like using an actual camera. Thus there is a learning curve, and you need to be willing to figure it out. But it sure is fun and allows for more creativity. If what you want are very saturated pictures and you want the phone to do all the work for you then I would say that the Xperia is not for you. Better to stick with an iphone or Galaxy. But if you want a much more natural, and accurate camera like experience where pictures look more like what your eye actually sees (I personally really dislike the way the Galaxy tries to make night shots look like daylight. Gives it an artificial look) that allows for more creativity and actually makes you want to go outside and take pictures......then the Xperia just might be for you. I would always use the comparison between an automatic luxuary sedan vs a manual sports car. They are totally different experiences. An iphone or Galaxy are like automatic sedans. They are comfortable, convenient, and will do most of what you need to be done without requiring too much from you. The Xperia is a lot more like a manual sports car. It's more tricky to drive and you have to learn how to drive it by comparison. But it's also a lot more fun, with a closer to reality feel, and you can push it waaay more.

Thank you Craig, I think people get intimidated by the learning curve that comes with the pro app, which isn’t hard but the app itself looks quite professional so I’d understand. It is a 12mp camera so it’s similar to most current high end smartphones out there but the colors, AF accuracy and speed is something unmatched for👍🏼 Hope you get it soon!
beautiful pictures man really shows the potential of the Sony, they're so underrated. I'm thinking about switching to from 12 pro max to the Xperia mark 3.. Were those raw photos edited afterwards or stock? This video single handily confirmed the suspicion i had before which was other tech reviewers are not photographers nor do they even know how to use this phone's camera to it's max potential. Everyone saying the camera is bad but they just don't know how to use it. In the right hands, you made it look easy! this video helped a lot, i really love how you showcase different environment and times throughout the day. The editing is much appreciated too i know how much work that took !
Thank you very much! Glad it has helped you👍🏼 I think if you’re coming form a iPhone, the only problem would be getting used to android😂 But the Xperia is much more fun for photography. These are all shot on jpeg and I have edited a little. Such as white balance exposure and a bit of shadows/highlights. Nothing crazy. I love a slightly cooler tone image so that’s probably something you won’t see from stock (right off the bat) But you can actually change the W/B within the app. Haha yes reviewers are amazing at reviewing products made for the average consumer but this phone is not for an average consumer but father enthusiasts and professionals👍🏼
Whelp I'm sold man. For the first time since getting a smart phone I don't think I'll be getting an iphone for the next one. I love the quality of photos and the "finder" screen or whatever you want to call it. As someone who's phone is mostly a secondary camera this looks to be perfect.
man the pictures taken at location 2 using promode look like they are straight up from a DSLR ! You definitely have talent and skills, using this phone as it was intended to make the best of it and show its true potential :)
OK, these are hands down the best photos I've ever seen from this phone/camera. Finally someone who uses it as intended - great work! It's also some of the best photos I've seen taken with a smartphone, period. It actually looks like photos.
Thumbs up ! Would like to see a tutorial from you how to use the functions of the camera pro and video pro modes of the phone. Keep up with the good work.
This was excellent. finally someone who rally understands something about photography makes a smartphone camera review. The shots you got were fantastic, and really showed what a smartphone camera can do today when it is not heavily processed by ai before taking the shot.
I discovered your video after debating if I want the Xperia 1 III and your video made it very convincing for me to get it! And thanks for sharing your sample images from your video! The quality is quite stunning for only jpeg!
My family are dissuading me from getting this phone saying the camera is not great but I keep telling them it can come out with amazing shots this video just reinforces that. Great video!
glad to see that Xperias are one of the last phones that stand out in the world of computational photography. the photos taken are so natural that can blow the rest to the water. but it is sad to see that the vast majority of phone users these days prefer the aggressive HDR or saturated photos or some ridiculous-low quality super zoom shots to Sony's style
Great video man. Great shots as well. Tokyo is a beautiful city, got to visit one day. The Xperia 1iii is a fantastic phone, anyone that says otherwise simply can't use it to it's fullest. I wanted to pick one up even before I saw this video, and now I want it even more. Photographers are gonna have a blast with it
First time passing by your channel, I'm just gonna say I wasn't expecting much, but one of the most beautiful and professional reviews I've seen, keep it that way, your channel will grow fast soon

They photos of the buildings look unreal! If you showed me those photos and said it was shot by a DSLR, I would have believed you right away Finally! A TH-camr who actually knows what he's doing with a Sony camera
This is an excellent video. I like how the Camera Pro App has more options for the SS and ISO between the lowest and highest. I use an Xperia 1 and can't get between the 200 and 400 ISO when taking pictures manually. Great to see Xperia evolving more than ever. Thank you for this review. Much better than other videos I have seen.

You are really a great professional. Because i am experiencing your frame score and pic sense exactly like wise on XPERIA 's youtube channel. You know how to get a great output from photo PRO. I have shared your video to some of the fb groups. I am interested to see this type of videos with XPERIA. We can also learn some lessons of photography 😂. Great video. Expecting more videos like this from you.. ❤
This video perfectly illustrates why this is guaranteed to be my next phone: learn how to use it and you can craft the shot YOU want with accurate colours and detail. Want a little tail light flair? There you go. Need to deepen those shadows? Certainly, sir. Results from the Xperia 1iii look like CAMERA images not smartphone images. That's what I want: control. Yes please, Sony. Fantastic video, fella
at last someone who knows how to use the 1/111 camera and get the vids and photos it is capable of!!! watched so many utubers with this 1/111 camera who did not have a clue how to use it properly and then say it was not very good fools!!! thanks for the great pics and vids!!!
Excellently detailed video! I was on the fence about getting the phone, but your shots pushed me to "definitely" purchasing. Thanks for taking the time to share the experience with us all. Cheers!
Excellent video, I loved it. Your shots are amazing and you really made an excellent job walking viewers through your photography. And the Xperia 1 III truly has an amazing camera, Sony did an excellent job with it. Too bad some of the people commenting felt it was necessary to be jerks, talking against Samsung’s cameras (which are great on their own and better than the Xperia Mark 1 III’s in some aspects) without reason.
From editing to content and quality of the pictures, I'm hoping more people will have this on their youtube suggestions because it is so worth it. I'm glad you asked if we had questions about photography! Because I would like to know how to use this pro mode since I might buy this phone, how do you manage to get such good photos? What settings do what, and what to change depending on typical scenarios like: moving objects shots, daylight shots, night shots
Loved all your shots especially the one on 2:41! 1/3 from hand?! A question though: Did you bring a powerbank and how many times did you have to charge your phone to get through the day?
Thanks for the great video! I like how you also said a few times in the comments that you liked to focus on what you do best and leave the "general reviews" to others. Very good approach, it really makes your channel feel distinct. I can look up the specs, battery tests, etc. at a different place and simply enjoy a deep dive into photography here. Due to the pandemic I could not revisit Japan this year, so the beautiful shots of recognizable areas were a bonus for me. Came for a review and will follow for the photography!
Thank you so much for your video, this has literally sold me this phone, been holding out for the release in the uk, was either this or iPhone 12 Pro as I currently have a iPhone XR and I’m so bored of it, camera is terrible, your photos look amazing and crisp, so looking forward to placing my order, thank you once again
I’m glad to hear that this video helped! I think choosing between the Xperia 1III and iPhone 12 Pro was a great choice. If you can utilize the photography pro and enjoy taking the time to shoot, the Xperia is by far the most fun you Can get out of a smartphone🤩
I adore my xperia 5 ii, will be keeping it for a long long time, its worth a quarter of what i paid now as sony phones used market seems to become super cheap quite quickly.. so won't be selling it for the 1 III or 5 III, this phone is perfect in every way
@11:43 I see that cars are blurred when close enough because of lower shutter speed. I guess it should be same with night mode on other phones as well. Overall am really impressed with the image quality. If the video taken while you are walking is with front camera, I think that definitely not great with over exposure on the background. I experienced Xperia 1 mark ii for couple of months recently and pulled out great shots of my kids. I definitely prefer this phone coz I can't always carry my Sony A7C. With delay in Xperia release in US, now the toss up is between 1 mark iii and Pixel 6 pro for my upgrade. Thanks a lot for your video. Also, how did the battery life hold up during your photoshoot day?
Damn. Excellent content, far better than what other TH-camrs shoot with their Xperia. I'd like to see you shoot on the new Sharp Aqueos R6/Leica Leitz Phone 1 very soon if you could get yourself a loaner unit from Sharp or Leica. Also, time to get the new WF1000XM4 and taste the sweet sweet LDAC DSEE audio. 😏
As much as I like the higher (but sometimes artificial) dynamic range of iPhones and Galaxies and Pixels, I think Sony's output is more realistic and true to life. Loved the video! Subscribed! 8:21 that timelapse though
Pls pls a full tutorial on how to properly use the camera. As an inexperienced photographer I would like to start taking better pictures on the Xperia. Thanks

Glad it has helped you👍🏼
I think if you’re coming form a iPhone, the only problem would be getting used to android😂
But the Xperia is much more fun for photography.
These are all shot on jpeg and I have edited a little. Such as white balance exposure and a bit of shadows/highlights. Nothing crazy.
I love a slightly cooler tone image so that’s probably something you won’t see from stock (right off the bat)
But you can actually change the W/B within the app.
Haha yes reviewers are amazing at reviewing products made for the average consumer but this phone is not for an average consumer but father enthusiasts and professionals👍🏼
@@Kohki wow that's awesome to hear! Thank you so much for your insights Kohki!
Thank you so so much!
It really feels like a camera haha
I really want to visit Japan!! Also thank you for the quality content!
Thumbs up ! Would like to see a tutorial from you how to use the functions of the camera pro and video pro modes of the phone. Keep up with the good work.
I love the dedication you put in making these videos!
Finally some camera review and using full use of it, some reviews are just take pict randomly and not using full of the camera.
Thanks for the video!
This was excellent. finally someone who rally understands something about photography makes a smartphone camera review.
The shots you got were fantastic, and really showed what a smartphone camera can do today when it is not heavily processed by ai before taking the shot.
The gopro placement is actually a good idea. Thanks
Haha thank you! And I’m glad my video has helped you!
SONY IS JUST BRILLIANT❤️,LOVE IT
glad to see that Xperias are one of the last phones that stand out in the world of computational photography. the photos taken are so natural that can blow the rest to the water. but it is sad to see that the vast majority of phone users these days prefer the aggressive HDR or saturated photos or some ridiculous-low quality super zoom shots to Sony's style
Sadly that's true. Most people actually don't know what a good photo is.
Great video man. Great shots as well. Tokyo is a beautiful city, got to visit one day. The Xperia 1iii is a fantastic phone, anyone that says otherwise simply can't use it to it's fullest. I wanted to pick one up even before I saw this video, and now I want it even more. Photographers are gonna have a blast with it
Finally a "real" review of Xperia 1iii cameras. Nice work bro.
These photos are outstanding! So natural looking. Getting mine Friday! I'd love to see a video on all features, tips and tricks.
Awesome! Great job with a great phone! Thanks, man! Looking forward to your cinematography part. ✌️
beautiful scenes, excelent pics and a great country
Thank you!
First time watching your channel and subscribed straightaway. Quality content.
First time passing by your channel, I'm just gonna say I wasn't expecting much, but one of the most beautiful and professional reviews I've seen, keep it that way, your channel will grow fast soon
10:10 😍 The reflection looks so nice🔥
Finally a video showcasing the photo capability of this phone.
This is by far the most informative vlog on the camera module of this phone, great stuff. 👍
bruh.......what a video! and what a phone!..........amazing shots and the way you created the whole thing explaining everything piece by piece, awesome work man..........and ofcousre Sony is love, can't wait to hold this phone!
First hahaha
I love your videos bro!✨
The Best review of Sony Xperia I've ever seen and I didn't even finished yet))
Thank you gor not talk a live action and practical use of it. Really appreciate it!!!🔥
Haha too kind thank you very much!!😍🚀
They photos of the buildings look unreal! If you showed me those photos and said it was shot by a DSLR, I would have believed you right away
Finally!
Any idea to release a video on how these photos are edited? Love the colour and feelings.
this proves that an Xperia, in a good hands, can make wonders.
You knew how to use Xperia to the max! Thanks for sharing
Whoa. My mind is blown away by those shots you got. You take epic photos and also share the locations so others can do that too. You should not exist theoretically 😂
Hahaha😂 thanks🚀
Damn mann, this is so cool, thanks for making this content, you show how this phone can do with a proper photography skills, btw great photography of yours, love it😍
Looks so good! The scenes, shots and video! Been a big fan but you show that the photographer makes or breaks the shot or scene! Stay awesome and stay safe!
The burst shots got me wow that's fast!
Haha yeah insaneee I just feel satisfied pressing the shutter😂
Kohki you're a generous and talented young guy, thank you so much for your very good "reportage"....Because of you I really want to visit Tokyo
That has been exactly my experience with the Xperia 1 mark ii that I have had for about one year now.
at last someone who knows how to use the 1/111 camera and get the vids and photos it is capable of!!! watched so many utubers with this 1/111 camera who did not have a clue how to use it properly and then say it was not very good fools!!! thanks for the great pics and vids!!!
Those night shots at the end of the video are super impressive!
Just amazing. The pictures amazing. The whole video amazing
Great content, that's the best showcase of the capabilities of the new Xperia phones.
Sony 💙
Excellently detailed video! I was on the fence about getting the phone, but your shots pushed me to "definitely" purchasing. Thanks for taking the time to share the experience with us all. Cheers!
this phone is AMAZING.... in professional hands like yours...
I really enjoyed your video. Fantastic photographic work! Looking forward to more videos and I’d love to learn your techniques!
Unbelievable such a great camera performance
Loved all your shots especially the one on 2:41! 1/3 from hand?!
A question though: Did you bring a powerbank and how many times did you have to charge your phone to get through the day?
This is super good, both the phone and your video
Awesome photos, hands-on shooting experience and travel vlog all-in-one! Really miss travelling in Japan 😢
I adore my xperia 5 ii, will be keeping it for a long long time, its worth a quarter of what i paid now as sony phones used market seems to become super cheap quite quickly.. so won't be selling it for the 1 III or 5 III, this phone is perfect in every way
実に良い動画です。私もXPERIA 1Ⅲを購入済みですが撮影などの参考にもなりました、ありがとうございます❗他の動画も頑張ってください、応援してます😇‼️
Bro, you're so good at that. Those pictures are nice 👍
Wow , great video mate.
As much as I like the higher (but sometimes artificial) dynamic range of iPhones and Galaxies and Pixels, I think Sony's output is more realistic and true to life. Loved the video! Subscribed!
8:21 that timelapse though
I love your works, you give me so much inspiration! thank you very much, I hope to meet you one day in Tokyo 🖖🏻
Pls pls a full tutorial on how to properly use the camera. As an inexperienced photographer I would like to start taking better pictures on the Xperia. Thanks
Noted! I will do my best to make a video on this topic🤙🏼
I like how the night shot is so so realistic than other brand phone, thanks for the video
This right here. Others are just brightening night time trying to turn it to day n it annoys the hell outta me.
@@Kohki yesss very accurate for phone and i think most accurate and your photography skill makes the great phone better, love your video thanks
Sick🤙🤙 been waiting for this one
Great camera review man!
Other reviewer use Auto Mode that make Xperia looks the worst from other flagship phone especially in the dark.. But you know the true power of Xperia is in Manual Mode and IT'S on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Wow such a nice way to present, you are super underrated, sony should show you off as one of their influencers
Did I call it or what Kohki im so glad they featured you!
Such informative video! Love what sony is doing with the camera and how clean the camera app looks.
インドで発売されたらこの携帯を買います。
the ones at 6:53 and 11:18 look really nice
