My MC9 had the battery issue.
    It was an easy fix.
I removed the slide and the polymer top of the rail was higher than the steel guides. I sanded them down even and re-oiled it. Haven't had a failure to return to battery since. No matter what ammo I put through it. Oh, While I had the slide off I ran a piece of emeory cloth on the sharp edges on the extractor. I was seeing flakes of brass in the slide. This has been minimalized now. Thanks for the video!

Why not just buy a new recoil spring... that's obviously what the problem is, it's not stiff enough to return it to battery

Sounds like a terrible gun the way you describe it. It should not have any problems straight from the factory

I've put close to 1000 rds thru my METE SFT, I've had zero malfunctions. Almost the entire 1000 rounds has been 115 gr, most of them aluminun case CCI's. I guess it goes to show you that quality control on "cheaper" firearms can be a little probalamatic. That being said, a friend of mine shot his new Walther PDP at Front Sight with me and he had a ton of troouble with that, while I had none with my METE!

Well my paper weight is a Salient Arms combat elite, not a budget gun by any means! I liked the trigger, the gun but it wouldn’t go into battery with 115 gr. Loads. I am waiting for my Sprinco kit and thinking I could have bought another CZ and been out shooting!

I have a Canik TP9SFX and I had tons of problems during the first 500 rounds. It was very frustrating, but now that the gun is “broken in” it has become a fabulous shooter. It pretty much eats any ammo I feed it. What I really like about this gun is how accurate it is and I think a big part of that is the great trigger. This gun eats the lunch of my H&K VP9 each and every time I’m at the range. It is more accurate and has a better trigger than my VP9 - so much so that I want to sell my VP9.

Everything you said is irrelevant considering you said it was having tons of problems during the first 500 rounds. Cool now that it's broken in it's fine but I would never trust my life on something that had such problems in the first 500 round

I tuned my TP9SFx with the lighter striker spring and tried using a 15# recoil spring as I shoot light IDPA hand loads. Ended up with a 17# recoil spring in the gun to get rid of the occasional failure to go into battery. I use the WP74 guide rod and 1911 Commander springs from Wolff for tuning. Pistol is working great now.

Maybe it's me but when caniks first came out i watched canik fanatic alot and he recommended breaking them in with hot +p ammo. Cpl hundred rounds of that when new and they will chew even the cheapest of ammo. I have six different caniks. Only time I seen an issue is when I'm introducing a new shooter and they limp wrist a shot.

Had the same issue brand new. Went through 250 rounds. Sanded down the high edges on the polymer, replaced with springco spring, polished the feed ramp. Still had the same issues. Canik said they would send out a new recoil spring. I waited a week got fed up sold the gun and bought a shield plus.

It's obviously the guide rod, you know the thing that the company that deals with countless of these guns told you it was. It's pretty obvious. How is a stiffer guide rod going to make a returning to battery failure worse? It's soul purpose is to push the slide forward, slowing momentum of slide a a biproduct. if it's not stiff enough it's going to not push it forward enough. Pretty obvious stuff. But no it's the firing pin... ridiculous
